Bit of a sudden release, but whatever...

 110. Aural Psynapse - Deadmau5

Might go T100 soon?

i think a Saturday release is a great idea - it gets your single established by the Sunday and wont lose you too many sales for your week of release.it would be especially good if your on the xfactor on the Saturday/Sunday night.

It's still losing sales and harming your first week position though. If you're going to hold back a release there's no sensible reason to release it on any day other than a Sunday.

I remember loads of songs last year were released on a Friday for some reason. I think its a good idea, especially if your a smaller artist.

On another issue now how much will the MTV awards (live from my home town of Belfast) on Sunday affect the chart?it seems to get bigger each year....such a buzz in Belfast yesterday when i was out at lunch time - a massive stage outside the city hall for Snow Patrol, Jason Derulo and the Chilli Peppers and all these girls were packed round a shop beside Urban Outfitters as the shop had been closed for a 'star' doing their shopping...i asked some we screaming girl outside 'who's in there' and she replied 'Starboy Nathan' and i turned away in disgust saying ' i thought it was someone important' LOL. Then afterwards i found out it was actually Jay-Z!!

Jay-Z was in your town!?!? :o :o :o Wow! :o That's amazing. Even Starboy Nathan would've been pretty amazing tbh. :D

That's strange. You wouldn't expect deadmau5 to have quite that big a fanbase over there. Same with Skrillex. It's surprising that his songs do better there (on iTunes) than they do here.

I was disgusted when i heard it was Starboy Nathan...not even sure Jay-Z is at the awards, maybe it was just a rumour. One girl in the papers this morning said someone shopping for Jessie J asked to get measured up and be a model because she was the same size as Jessie..its all a bit over the top!
I hope the EMAs have a massive impact (mainly because of Gaga :kink:) Do we know how much of an impact it has had in previous years? And i assume this year will be much bigger as its actually in the UK!
I would argue its in Ireland but sure....yeah i think it will hopefully boast Coldplay especially!

MTV EMAs performers

Pre show

Jason Derülo — "It Girl"

Main show

Bruno Mars — "Runaway Baby"

Coldplay — "Princess of China" :w00t:

David Guetta — "Without You"

Jessie J — "Who You Are"

Justin Bieber — "Mistletoe"

Lady Gaga — "Marry the Night" :w00t:

LMFAO — "Sexy and I Know It"

Red Hot Chili Peppers — "Monarchy of Roses"

Snow Patrol — "This Isn't Everything You Are"

Wow they are all promoting their new singles, happy days. And great to see Coldplay performing Princess of China with Rihanna - brillant!

Is 'Runaway Baby' actually getting a single release?

Princess Of China getting a performance :w00t: Hopefully that'll give it a boost. What channel is the ceremony being shown on and when?

It's being shown live tomorrow at 9PM on MTV iirc.

Also is there anyway that Pro Green could lose the #1 spot come tomorrow? It's falling a fair bit now, but i'm fairly sure he has it in the bag for this week.

I guess it'd make sense for an MTV awards ceremony to be shown on MTV  Dumb moment.

I think Green has been too far ahead of Rihanna in the mids to lose the #1 but you never know, the only sales information (for the singles) that we've had all week is the changing gap between Green and Cher.

He hopefully will, he has a 2nd version in the top 30 which is why the top 10 version is falling!

We also had the Friday chart sales!

If you're talking about the ones in Dave Taylor's thread, they're a guess and shouldn't be relied upon at all.

And although it's partially the album version causing the single version to be falling, I think it's falling now anyway - combined it's falling away from Rihanna while Labrinth, for example, is still increasing (as of the last combined top 5 pop bars update I did anyway - I think I'll do a new one now).

Ah, so Labrinth has fallen away from Rihanna a bit since the last update, but he's still extending his combined lead over Green.
