Ya, i know its a lower sales climate which is a huge disadvantage, but 300,000 should come easy to an established girlband who have have top 10 hit after top 10 hit. I think they need to stand out as individuals more, im not a die hard fan and i have to admit apart from Una i dont know one from the other, im not alone either, i think that needs to be worked on aswell to connect more with the public.

I completely agree. They're quite faceless in a way. The lack of exposure they get is down to that, because like i've just mentioned in another thread, they're not at the height where the UK wants to read about them, like they'd read about a Cheryl and Ashley split. The positive side to that however is that their personal lives are kept out of it all, but they need to be splashed over the tabloids.

I think the public are familia with Mollie and Frankie (maybe Una, she's getting a bit more attention due to her pregnancy), but they don't know Rochelle and Vanessa (their sleeves for 'On Your Radar' are the ones that are least popular on HMV) which backs my claims up. Rochelle's the mother hen of the group, and Vanessa's the party animal, that's pretty much all to them.

I'm thinking this needs to sell at least 30K first week. If this doesn't go platinum after three single releases, a high sales climate and the fact that the band have been around for three years now, then I don't know what to say.

I'd agree tbh. It'd be embarassing if anything. Wordshaker I can understand - 2nd album, change in image a bit too drastic, not much time between Chasing Lights era and Wordshaker era etc, now they shouldn't be having this problem. Headlines looked like they'd recovered a bit but here they shouldn't be struggling. We'll see. What will be will be I guess. They just don't seem to connect with the public outside of the fanbase. Not sure how they can sort that out either. They're stuck in limbo at the moment imo.

I agree as well, they really need to shift the albums this time Chasing Lights did pretty well, especially for a debut, they need to atleast match those sales again and try and get another good seller under their belts.

I'm predicting 33K for it's opening week charting in the top 10.

I think they aren't willing to take risks, and move on so quickly if the album is underperforming, I mean look at Wordshaker, they moved on so quickly after Ego, they should have released Here Standing as the third single and it could have shifted some albums, just like Issues did with CL. :)

Again look at Pixie Lott, Mama Do and Boys & Girls went to 1, and then Cry Me Out failed to reach top ten, however sold albums, so she released another ballad (Gravity) and a few more singles and it helped milk the album majorly, even though none went top ten. I think they're cautious of what single they release incase it doesn't go top ten.

Imma be more harsh with a low prediction now. 17,004 copies and charting at 15 or 16..

Gawd that'd be terrible if that happened. Would that be their lowest first week album sales ever? Wordshaker was 18k I think, right? Headlines somewhere around 22k.. I can't remember what Chasing Lights first week sales were...

Wordshaker did about 15k, so it wouldn't be their worst!

I very much doubt they would do under 20k. :o

I'm sticking with my prediction of #8 and 30k. As I said in the other thread I'd be agog if it missed the top 10, sales could go either way though.

I'm going to round this down to #10 though, I wouldn't perhaps be AGOG if they don't make top 10 but I still think they're more likely to than not. Sales around 25k.

I couldn't care less where they chart as long as they have good sales. I genuinely don't think I could cope with another release that sells under 200K. :( At LEAST go platinum, PLEASE! :(

Quality

01 Chasing Lights

02 Headlines

03 Wordshaker

Sales

01 Chasing Lights

02 Headlines

03 Wordshaker

The sales (obviously Wordshaker sales is far too low) have been equal to the quality IMO. If 'On Your Radar' is great, then i'm hoping that it will get the sales it deserves, they have really done everything they could (Released 3 singles before album, etc).

Ranking the albums so far:

1. Wordshaker

2. Chasing Lights

3. Headlines!

Headlines! was still good though, so that's saying something. I'm sure OYR will slot in at the top. :)
