Happy that he's gone. :)

Johnny back next week please. (it's only fair since he achieved a higher placing than the risk)

Personally I find Johnny more entertaining than the risk anyway.

I just find though that maybe Frankie's awfulness was making everyone in the competition seem better than they were. This Saturday - there'll be no-one as a contrast. I think your word 'bland' said it all. I find this year's contestants bland and not particularly talented (maybe Misha has potential - but for me thats about it).

Last Saturday was the first time in ages that I watched and XF episode from start to finish and I have to say - the only reason I did was because of all the furore during the week about 'Frankie'. I won't be watching a full episode again - I'll just tune in for the last 20 minutes or so of the Sunday show to see who gets dropped (and hope its one of Gary's - as even though Frankie has gone - he STILL has the weakest of the bunch) .

Kath what happened to you being Gary/Take That's biggest fan on here? (Or have I just entirely imagined that?)

DS say they have the 'golden rules' from 2010:

1. No getting drunk

2. No sexual relationships between contestants

3. No leaving the house without permission

4. Lads and girls must stay apart overnight

5. No pornography in the house

6. Zero tolerance on damaging property

7. Zero tolerance on drug use

8. 24-hour-a-day security surveillance

9. No relationships with X Factor fans

10. No overnight stays for contestants' boyfriends or girlfriends during live finals

Tbf he easily could've broken 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 (I doubt he has a girlfriend ) and I'm fairly sure he'd already broken 1 plenty of times  But yeah, I'd say it's drugs.

It's Frankies own fault for kicked off the show. Surely he should be booted off sooner after repeatly breaking the rules on the X Factor.

Edit: His antics are now being probed by Ofcom

She is a big fan....just not a loon. She still has the ability to see things as they are.

I still like Take That I just don't like Gary Barlow anymore. All his charidee work (or rather the fact that he broadcasts it with a giant megaphone at every bloody opportunity) started to get on my nerves about 2 years ago. He seems to act as though he doesn't need the other three (he does) and I've suddenly realised that apart from the songs he's written for and with Take That - his song-writing isn't really all that! I think the final straw was the brown-nosing with David Cameron though! Yeah - he does all this charity work for 'disadvantaged' kids - and yet waves the flag for the party that closed down the BS4 Schools program.

So in short - no - I can't stand Barlow (although I do like one of his acts - Marcus - but I just don't think he's good enough, nor deserves to beat Misha).

BTW - this doesn't mean I automatically dislike people because they're Tory supporters!

So pleased that creature has been axed.

Just have a feeling that they discovered he was the act who got less votes this weekend. ^_^

I hope Johnny returns to the show.

Tbh I'm still surprised to why he even made it to the live shows in the first place; he simply cannot sing.

well, glad he's out :D its a shame we never got to actually boot him off, but then there would always been a risk of him surviving again <_< surely one of the worst ever contestants on the show, not even in an amusing way :puke:

as for what they should do next, I agree it should either be brought back a week or they just carry the votes over to next week

The X Factor's statement includes this Orwellian line:

"He is going to take some time out before continuing his career as a singer."

The words "continuing", "career" and "singer" have been instantly redefined.

Translation:

He is going to change his underwear before continuing his rampage as boozed up whoremonger.

Ooh, amazing news. :)

The only thing he will be missed for is that he was a living proof of how big of a joke Gary Barlow is.

That and the booing when he was performing :kink:

I was surprised to hear this news for the reason someone mentioned previously. Has there ever been this much genuine drama during The X Factor before? I don't mean of the entirely fabricated kind either. I mean people leaving, returning, being replaced and so on. It's utter chaos.

I'm pleased Frankie is out but I'm disappointed he wasn't properly booted off by the public. As long as I don't have to see him brag about his knobbish behaviour on Xtra Factor and faux-humbly accept the judges' criticisms though, I can deal. I'm interested in what's going to happen this weekend. Bringing a contestant back is risky if the public voted them off...

I can't see them not bringing a contestant back otherwise everyone involved will lose too much money, which lets face it is what they care about most - making money. If they keep going with one elimination each week and have a two contestant final then they lose money in two ways. 1) Each week there will be one less contestant to vote for which means there's one set of fans which stop voting a week earlier. The final will always gain the most votes, and I don't see any circumstance where a final of two will generate more votes than a final of three. 2) More importantly however, is that with a contestant less each week, there's no need for the show to be as long, so with an advert break less they won't get as much advertising revenue. X-Factor is the most watched (or second) show on the network and that extra ad break in X-Factor is going to gain far more revenue than if it were in another show (Piers Morgan, News etc.) where viewers are halved. Unless they do without an elimination for one week but then that renders the results show pointless.
I wonder if Gary will give the XF audience their booing rights back this weekend....

The announcement was meant to be at lunchtime. It's past five now haha.

People seem under the impression that Johnny is coming back in to the competition because all his interviews & appearances for the rest of the week have been cancelled.

Well the public didn't "vote them off" like you would on big brother. They just didn't get people to vote for them for whatever reason. I don't think it's as big a deal then if people actually voted to kick them out.

To be fair Johnny was probably stuffed to begin with when he performed first.

Now we know what they're doing about this, apparently 4 acts who were eliminated pre live shows will compete for Frankie's spot. Bit unfair...

Who's coming back to The X Factor?

Want to find out what happens in The X Factor now that Frankie Cocozza has departed? Ok, well are you sitting comfortably? Yes… then we will begin.

With a place now available on the show, from tomorrow - that's Thursday - you will have the chance to vote BACK IN one of the four acts who left The X Factor in week one.

That’s right people, this is your chance to hand a lifeline to either James Michael, Amelia Lily, 2 Shoes or Jonjo Kerr.

Tomorrow we'll reveal the all important phone line numbers you'll need to dial and then it's down to you to decide which of the acts deserves to come back. All four have never faced the public vote so their future is in your hands.

And to find out who will be returning, tune in at 8.15pm on Saturday night on ITV1 to see who performs either a Queen classic or Lady Gaga hit on our famous X Factor stage. Only one will get a second chance. Who will it be?
