It's entirely based on Gil Scott Heron & Jamie XX's 'I'll Take Care Of You'. There's still some of Gil's vocals in Drake's version.

 

 

Rihanna sampled another one of their songs on her own album too, so I'd avoid listening to that if I were you. :lol:

 

 

To be honest I don't even dislike it, it's just far too recent a song to be covering/sampling, and the original is so good so it's still so fresh.

That pretty much sums up my opinion on "Opposite of Adults", so I'm intrigued to hear "Take Care" given I haven't heard the original.

It's not much older, it's still less than two years old. Gil released the album 'I'm New Here' last year and that was remixed by Jamie XX and released as 'We're New Here' this year. The version which Drake's song samples is still the recent one, regardless of whether there is an older version of it, and the song is pretty much entirely based on the sample. The Rihanna solo one posted above is a far less obvious sample.

I love the original, Jamie XX's remix and the Drake version. A good song is a good song. However, 'Drunk on Love' is bloody awful and completely destroys the original sample.

Could Drake actually get a T10 hit out of 'Take Care'. Wise decision on his behalf to work with Rihanna at another peak in her career - I imagine she'll be dominating the charts well into Summer 2012.

Drake has 7 album tracks in the top 40 (and another two at #41 and #42)! If they had a chart show in the US, this week it'd basically just be playing Drake's album out with a few Rihanna, Glee Cast (they're at #3 now!) and Taylor Swift songs thrown in. :lol:

 

It reminds me of when Recovery was released actually. The song featuring Rihanna went straight to #1 on iTunes, and then the song featuring Lil Wayne (No Love) went top 10.

 

And I can't believe he has two album tracks in the top 5! That's amazing. And hopefully his actual album will have MASSIVE first-week sales too.

is that Lloyd track been taken off itunes? It was available last weekend but they must know its going to be big so have held it back.This is a bit of a random thing to say but I would love to have seen how much labrint would have sold if it had an X-Factor appearence instead of Pro Green given how well its holding up!

 

The next JLS single Do you feel what I feel was played on radio 1 on Monday - god its a terrible song!

 

Next week will be a great battle between Rihannas new single from her album after an X-Factor performance, Olly Murs newie which wont be as big as Heart Skips a Beat but will be a fanbase buy and Flo Rida!
