November 22, 201113 yr It really shocks me their managment haven't learnt the lessons of the past. Expecting them to sell on name alone doesn't work. They need to have massive promotion behind them to sell well. Even if they can't get them on big shows, they need to be everywhere, I just feel like this whole album campaign has been slightly half arsed. It's like the mistakes of Wordshaker were forgoten and the sucsessful parts of Headlines! have been ignored. If On Your Radar had been released off the back of All Fired Up, it probably would have sold a similar amount to it will do this week, but will have charted about 7-10 places higher than it is going to do. Hopfuly alarm bells are ringing MAJORLY at the label and their management. I see this as more a managment fault than anything else. The label clearly have faith with all the formats of the album. However if I was incharge them at the label I would be saying if you don't dump your managment we're going to dump you from the record label. If and it's a big if they get an album release next year, it is only going to be a re-release of OYR or a Singles Collection (although probably will be called a greatest hits :P). If that does well a new studio album maybe viable. I am really not sure where the band can go from here. I am not sure if all of them will want to go through this again. Maybe next year we will have a solo album or 2 on our hands.
November 22, 201113 yr Am I the only one who thinks that they should take a year out after this era? Not release the album a year after they finish this era, but instead take a FULL 12 months out before even going into the studio again. Maybe they can think things through...?
November 22, 201113 yr Author Ok, I know I can be negative at times, but C'mon guys their is no way Polydor will drop Saturdays. They bring them in very good money and Saturdays always seem to get advertisements If Polydor blame someone it should be The Saturdays management and their promotion. Airplay also seems to be getting worse for them as they progress, I think the public are starting to lose interest in them. However I do see The Saturdays releasing another album. They just need to work much more harder, try breaking Europe as that should even give them a small effect in the uk.
November 22, 201113 yr I'd imagine they'd probably be mortified at this result. They've essentially been working on this since 'Wordshaker' flopped (Headlines was only really to keep them noticed while they recorded this) and keep going on about how much time and effort they've put into it, plus the fact they've released three singles (none of them particulary big budget but I believe all of them were shot outside the UK) and have been around for four years, i'd imagine they were expecting top ten at least. The fact all that time and energy has been put into this and it looks like it'll be forgotten about in a few months (I can't see this sticking around, especially considering their fourth single will probably be ignored by radio as well), it'll probably crush them. Would they really want to start all over (again) probably with a lesser budget, a damaged reputation and zero radio support behind them? This NEEDS to either climb or stabilise next week. Rated R and Element of Freedom went in at #16 and #17 and re-peaked months later, same with Pink Friday. Edited November 22, 201113 yr by shadow2009
November 22, 201113 yr Sorry but judging by some of your previous posts in this topic you're a little lacking in objectivity and possibly a bit blinded by your desire for them to do well. This is an *awful* result. A 30k opening week is completely off the cards. What was their best opening week before this? 23k sticks in the memory, am I right? Take Pixie's position of #18 with sales of 18k. There's no way the Sats will be staying even over the course of the week so #18 is the very best they can hope for on Sunday. We're a week closer to Christmas so that could mean a maximum of about 21k. Personally I think they'll chart at #21 with 17k sold. Nothing about this situation is good. It's called being optimistic, and it's a breath of fresh air when siving through all the doom and gloom. Blinded by my desire? Most of my input it constructive criticism. You've posted here like 5 times so i dont suspect you 'get us all'. Sales will most likely be higher than they where last week and if they stick at #16 then they could sell close to 30k. There's no indication so far that it's going to drop down the mids without the rest of this weeks midweeks present, unless you're mystic Meg. Too much negetivity in the room :P
November 22, 201113 yr LOL I post regularly in here and in the Popjustice topics! I'm not a blind fan by any means and that means I can look at things with a bit more objectivity although I am in a rotten mood tonight so apols if I was out of line there. But the way I see it there's no use being optimistic for the sake of it. That only means bigger disappointment in the end.
November 22, 201113 yr Author It's positive that Radio 1 have already started playing Faster though? I heard it on Radio1 again today. I just think they should release Faster then (The Way You Watch Me,Last Call, White Lies) They only songs that will get good radio airplay. Does anyone think Faster or White Lies should have been single 3! I think The Saturdays have more potential and are very underrated. Anyway we should try and hope for the best, I don't believe The Saturdays will get dropped though, maybe them themselves might want to move label Polydor Artists Selena Gomez Alex Gardner Ian Brown James Blake 50 Cent Will.I.Am Klaxons Jonas Brothers Janet Jackson Kelis The Saturdays Nicole Scherzinger La Roux Black Eyed Peas Kele Eminem Nicola Roberts Jodie Connor The Pretty Reckless Emma's Imagination Take That James Morrison One Republic All Time Low Miley Cyrus Natalia Kills Far East Movement Maroon 5 Esmee Denters Ronan Keating Mary J Blige Snow Patrol Lady Gaga Scissor Sisters Lmfao Demi Lovato . Look at all of that, those are the only decent size names, If you think The Saturdays would be dropped over 90% of them. Edited November 22, 201113 yr by lee wallace
November 22, 201113 yr Thing is, though, it doesn't matter if other artists are doing worse than them. The Sats get far more money pumped into them and much more opportunities/press attention than they do. Half of those acts have success outside the UK as well. * *that's another annoying thing, One Direction are already charting across Europe with their first single! The Sats, if they want to survive, need to break out of just the UK!

Oops sorry, I had'nt realised that you changed your screen name, my bad, my reaction was a bit uncalled for. I know what you mean, chances are the album probabbly will flop and sell less coppies in it's first week compared to their previous LPs, but i think it's important that both views are aired. PopJustice is bad enough at times, just trying to keep some positivety here and there!
