Another brilliant performance from Amelia. 9/10

Oh COME ON! That was a vocal disaster!

I've came to the conclusion that janet really isn't right for the x factor, in the sense that she's too good for it and the producers are just trying their best to screw her up, it's just bringing out the worst in her. and on that basis I think she should go and start making music her way.

The word DELUDED springs to mind/

Who would download any of this crap?

So you would vote based on those performances but not download them?

Im fuming there was no hot men either this year. I mean 2 gays and Frankie? Urrghh

Heaven FORBID a GAY could be hot!

Why would anyone want to win this show?
LOL What?!

Since when was Aretha Franklin a rock chick?!

Aretha Franklin isn't 'rock chick' but I seem to recall her performance being in a 'rock chick' style (much as Michael Jackson isn't 'rock chick' at all but her Billie Jean performance undoubtedly was)? I might be thinking about someone else. Or I might just be making it up. Either way, she's awful at doing 'rock chick' songs and Kelly shouldn't give them to her.

I've said that AWFUL phrase 'rock chick' far too many times in this post.

Yes I would vote coz its on my dads phone so free and Im not paying.

And gay people can be hot but Marcus and Craig are not. Craig was a fat lump of uglyness and Marcus looks like a woman

I think (ROCK CHICK REMIX!) I preferred you when you were on your sabbatical. Try and take a month off next time.

I'm fucking LOVING your breakdown tonight Doug http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/grin.gif

Janet wont be in the bottom 2. People are wishful thinking.

Id say Marcus to go.

He has zero X Factor and is awful

01 Misha

02 Amelia

03 Marcus

04 Little Mix

05 Janet

Now I really have to state at this point how much I hate the concept of 'guilty pleasures'. Nothing but an excuse for some tedious indie bores to look down at what are actually brilliant pop records. And whilst it wasn't quite as bad as last year I grant you, I still spent a great deal of time complaining about it.

Misha was back on form for me. The 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' performance I did not expect to work as well as it did, and the rap was brilliant. Having the same set-up as the 'Rolling In The Deep' performance was genius too, as it was when she was at her best. Her best in weeks. 'Killing Me Softly' was also very good.

Amelia was better with her first performance. With 'Since U Been Gone' I actually agreed with Gary, because as much as I love her for having Kelly Clarkson as her musical hero, there were tuning issues.

Marcus was good. Had better performances in the past. Same for Little Mix, whose song choices were either not really appropriate for them, or just predictable. 'Beautiful' was handled nicely enough though I suppose.

Janet was, as to be expected, a complete and utter car crash. The show is really throwing her under the bus and making no attempts to be subtle about it at this point. Or Kelly hates her as much as I do and wants rid of the bloody thing. Somehow she even made 'Mmmbop' sound boring. Now that is an accomplishment. I did laugh at her VT claiming she had an alternative taste in music too, and then she did the All Saints version of 'Under The Bridge'. If she doesn't at least land in the bottom 2 this week then we're clearly stuck with the bloody thing forever.

An average night on the whole it has to be said. Janet aside I do rather like them all, but they should be more exciting at this point.

OH MY GOD. Gary is just such a twat... Poor Janet, there was no need for him to rip her to shreds after Under The Bridge like that...

Anyway, rankings:

01 Amelia Lily - China In Your Hand (10/10)

02 Little Mix - Baby/Where Did Our Love Go (9.5/10)

03 Misha B - Killing Me Softly (9/10)

04 Little Mix - Beautiful (9/10)

05 Misha B - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (8.5/10)

06 Amelia Lily - Since U Been Gone (7.5/10)

07 Marcus Collins - I'm Your Man (7.5/10)

08 Janet Devlin - Under The Bridge (7.5/10)

09 Marcus Collins - Lately (6/10)

10 Janet Devlin - Mmmbop (3/10)

Amelia absolutely slayed that song tonight, and showed she is definitely the best vocalist left. Rock power ballads are definitely her niche, sadly I don't think she's quite as versatile as I thought... :(

Little Mix did a brilliant mash-up, shame Tulisa stole it from Rachel Crow :kink: They did it much better than her though tbf...

Misha B's fantastic choice of Killing Me Softly definitely showed why she needs to stay.

Little Mix didn't have quite as much of a big stripped back moment as I thought tonight, but they still smashed it!

I found Misha's Girls a bit overrated if I'm honest... It was good but something was missing for me from what she usually does :(

Amelia's SUBG was pretty good, but vocally it wasn't spot on and it was far too cliche and karaoke. And at times it was quite shouty.

Marcus actually did a lot better than I thought with IYM but still it's so samey...

Janet did fairly well with Under The Bridge, sure it wasn't her best but it was far from her worst - I enjoyed it!

Marcus' Lately... Well. Most overrated moment in XF history? Possibly yes. It was so pitchy at the begining he didn't even 'pull it back' that much. How on EARTH were they practically wetting themselves over it? Ugh. I wanted to personally run to Kelly and hug her when she pulled him up on the pitch issues!

Then Janet's Mmmbop... I actually enjoyed it a lot more than either of Marcus' performances simply because it was so hilariously awful  It started off well, but after like 20 seconds I just thought 'oh gawd.' and it was SUCH a motorway pile-up

Really can't call the bottom 2, but my gut feeling says Janet and Misha.

Let's see for tonight.

Little Mix, as much as I love them and given that they are by far my favourite act at this point were a little disappointing tonight. Of course, after the UTTERLY BRILLIANT performance that was Don't Let Go last week, anything was going to look worse by comparison. The mashup at the start was quite a bit of a hot mess, and Beautiful sounded a little strained. Beautiful was the better of the performances though, and it's probably in their top 5 performances (after Don't Let Go, E.T, Don't Stop The Music and I'm Like A Bird in that order). I really hope they can get through tonight.

Janet was abysmal on Mmmbop. Really weak vocals, and a shame, as I'd thought she'd stepped it up with Kiss Me last week. Under The Bridge was a return to form for her, passable really, but I still think she should be going soon.

Misha... I'm not sure what to make of the two performances. The first performance was YET AGAIN the weaker of the two, Killing Me Softly was rather good. I am preferring seeing the 'original' Misha back, but I can't help but feel it's a little late. 'Girls' in particular felt like an attempt to recreate Rolling In The Deep, really.

Marcus: Well, the Wham perf was rather good, and so was his Stevie Wonder performance. I want to like Marcus more, but I find myself saying the same thing, week in, week out about Marcus, he's good, can't fault him, but he's not as exciting a singer as his personality is, and so all I can say is 'rather good'.

And as for Amelia, China In Your Hand was a brilliant song to pull out of the bag (even though I'd never known of it before although I do recognise it). In contrast Since U Been Gone sounded really strained and she was really struggling there, which is strange, because I normally like performances of songs I love more; she wasn't great there.

All the acts have their faults at this stage, I'm not writing off any of them either.

Ranking proper:

1. Amelia Lily - China In Your Hand

2. Little Mix - Beautiful

3. Marcus Collins - I'm Your Man

4. Little Mix - Baby/Where Did Our Love Go

5. Misha B - Killing Me Softly

6. Janet Devlin - Under The Bridge

7. Amelia Lily - Since U Been Gone

8. Marcus Collins - Lately

9. Misha B - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

... (large quality gap)

10. Janet Devlin - Mmmbop

Anyone but Little Mix for the bottom two, I don't really mind, although I would prefer it slightly if Amelia was safe too.

Ive just voted for Janet

Good one. :)

And I agree with the above three. Janet might aswell just quit and go her own way, as The X Factor will just screw her. I'd love to see her win, but I also wouldn't. And Shelli, you're doing loads of good posts tonight.
