Single not top 40

Album 10+1

Thanks Tom. I'll add another :cheer: for Will. :D

Cool. He's up to 20+4 btw :)

If Olly Murs loses out by a small margin, it will serve him right for not releasing this single on CD. He's lost one sale here. (I'm sure that will make all the difference!) His recent singles HAVE been on CD. Does anyone know why the record company hasn't bothered with this one?

Even though HSAB hardly sold any CDs I reckon DWMT would have sold more as it's more retro and has more appeal to an older demographic. You can understand the decision though, I still don't know if it would have been justifiable.

Song-writing is much easier than people think. Even people like Adele sometimes write some of their songs in just a few minutes.

HAHAHA what are you on about? Anyone can write a song yes but very few can write a good one, even fewer can write hits. Some songs come in 5 minutes but that's after years of honing your craft and the right inspiration striking. Alot of elements have to be right for the magic to happen. People like Adele are coupled with at least one songwriter to write a song and they're usually some guy in his late 30's or 40's who has spent years at it. I think she wrote Hometown Glory by herself though so she has definate songwriting talent.

IMO, I love her, but I want her to take a break for her health!

She might as well keep the ball rolling in terms of albums and singles, her massive profile is one of her strengths. She doesn't ahve to go to every little poxy radio station in teh world, her songs sell regardless so she can cherry pick the biggest shows for maximum impact. Touring would be the most tiring thing, The Rolling Stones can do more than her even at their age so she should be alright. She's young, she should work hard while the desire is there.

Just saw on twitter Rihanna 2k copies behind.

Thanks! I wonder if Olly could still do it?

Has she halved the lead from yesterday then? I thought she was 4k or more behind yesterday. If thats the case she will probably end up No1 I would think. She's gaining quite steadily.

Good to see Will's climbed again, I still think Rhi can do it as she's selling more than Murs and catching him up.

with a good day saturday rihanna may well smash past 200k albums this week. who would have thought rihanna would be opening with 200k+ a few years back.

seen as she seems to be selling 2k more than olly each day and saturday is a big day for sales, rihanna should end up a comfortable 5k+ ahead of him come the close of play saturday night.

Does anyone know what Rihannas past first week sales were for her previous albums? Thanks

I don't think she'll get more than 200k, more like around 180-190k

Rihanna’s new album Talk That Talk has broken through 100,000 UK sales in just three days to become one of the fastest sellers of 2011.

The Def Jam/Mercury album, which was released on Monday, reached nearly 110,000 sales by the end of play on Wednesday, according to the Official Charts Company, to put it on course to top the UK artist albums chart this coming Sunday.

Syco act One Direction’s first album Up All Night will also break through 100,000 sales in its first week on sale, having surpassed the 90,000 mark on Wednesday. It is the week so far’s second-biggest artist seller, while the RCA-issued Greatest Hits by Westlife is third, although Reprise/Warner Bross Michael Buble album Christmas is rapidly closing the gap in fourth place.

Rihanna is also in with a fighting chance of simultaneously topping the UK singles and artist albums charts this weekend as We Found Love featuring Calvin Harris is just 2,000 sales behind Epic act Olly Murs’ newly-released single Dance With Me Tonight in first place. The Murs single is one of what could be three new entries in the top five with Universal’s Kelly Rowland featuring The Waves release Down For Whatever currently fourth and Islands Avicii single Levels fifth.

So Rihanna is now 19,000 in front of One Direction and 2,000 behind Olly. Didn't see this put here, so thought i'd post it! And Michael Buble may move up to no.3! I'm glad Westlife may not get a top 3 album again, can't stand them!

MTN all week 11-12 in iTunes and still #15 on midweeks??
Hopefully the rancid Saturdays keep dropping and then maybe we won't have to put up with them for much longer. :D
