01. Rihanna & Calvin Harris - We Found Love 100%

02. Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight 85%

I think Rihanna will hang on this week, Dance With Me Tonight is so good as well, she's just demolishing anything associated with x Factor. The Wanted - X Factor Performance, Jls - X Factor performance, One Direction - X Factor performance.

Hmm, let's not forget that she performed on X Factor too!

Olly will majorly start to trail off due to the weekend effect and no doubt Rihanna will pull the sales gap to at least 5,000 tomorrow, meaning she will end the week at number one.

What is this weekend effect and why won't it affect Rihanna? 12 hours ago Olly had sold 34,000 copies and was over 7000 ahead of WFL.

How far was Rihanna behind Flo Rida in the midweeks last week?

You're maths is wrong. He was less than 6300 ahead yesterday. Also, it was up until midnight on Monday those sales.

Rihanna was behind One Direction not Flo Rida... and it was probably by about 4000 at the same point last week, and she beat them by around 7000.

The weekend effect is when songs which have been out a while always climb and new songs fall and crash. Happens between Friday and Sunday every week. Rihanna has been out donkeys years so she will strengthen whereas Olly will fall. In my opinon she will probably sell about 3000-4000 more than him in TOTAL over those two days. So if she closes to within that by Friday, he's toast.

Also the amount they are selling, means her 15% is eating into his lead alot faster than she was doing in all of her previous comebacks, bar her first week against Maroon 5.

All in all, I think her being number 1 is the most probable outcome.

Ok thanks for that, very enlightening! That all sounds logical to me which is shame. I've just been taking what people are saying about Rihanna being number 1 with a pinch of salt since the predictions that WFL would massacre DWMT by some people at the start of the week. I said it's not a foregone conclusion and I've been proved right so at least that's something.

Some things to consider... 1. Could Saturday not actually be a strong day for DWMT as alot of people could discover the song then, it's pretty fresh. 2. Olly could get a nice sales kick after Saturday's Xtra Factor like he did last Sundays. 3. He's doing promotion this week, Rihanna isn't. 4. Rihanna's sales could slow down, I mean won't the sales of her multiple copies slow down after the boost of the new album wears off? And how many people don't have the song by now. I don't reckon any of these things are massive factors on their own but they could combine to keep Olly's nose just ahead. I mean I don't know much about chart trends but DWMT is a pretty damn catchy song and trends don't go on forever. Just balancing the argument as most seem to be sold on the notion of Rihanna at number 1 again.

The reason is that the patterns hardly changed.

Tbh his biggest hope is Rihanna's sales crash, but with the hype of her album I doubt it very much. The news that she is beating 1D will give extra press too.

Rihanna's tour counts as promotion too, thought most of the goers will have got it already LOL.

On Xtra Factor, it will be like 10pm, tbh the game will probably be up by then, with Rihanna having like a 30% lead, he might catch up 1/2% but the weekend effect will be working so much against him.

6000 copies is quite a gap when we're talking about 70k in a week overall.

They both will sell over 80 k...the winning margin being about 2k lol!

RiRi turned over a gap of 4k to beat that group by 7k, when only selling 66k...easily possible considering they are headed to even bigger sales this week!!

Gotta be you is a crap song though and it's basically a ballad. Only 1D's fanbase would buy that, Olly's song is a feel good uptempo song, singles buyers love those, it's bound to have more appeal. The fact that you're predicting he'll sell more than 1D backs up that idea. Olly is panicing on twitter though, he's just tweeted this...

@ollyofficial "OHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOO!! Rihanna is closing the cap in the charts!! Might not get it now!! We are still ahead!! BUT need to spread the word!!!"

Of course, he had an 1hr plug, so has every week on Xtra Factor (he's throwing the kitchen sink)

He won't appeal to the casual buyer that much tbh.

Lol, at him being such a desperado.....she's coming big time...too snatch that wig!!

Uh, Olly is so cringe and annoying hahaha.

I hope Rihanna races past him now. :P

What happened last week with 1D is irrelevant. Olly Murs has had two number ones and a double platinum selling album. He is already a relatively big star, not just something that had just come from a talent show to attract teenagers.

He's doing worse than I thought though, really expected him to sell close to 100k.

Rihanna Probably selling around 20% more now

It's probably like more like 17%.

But if they are both selling in excess of 10k atm, Rihanna will claw back another 1700.

She's coming HARD! :yahoo:

From no.2 queen, to comeback queen haha!

*Edit* WHat is also good for her, is the number 2 entry closed a lil overnight. Because whilst the others were gaining it was falling...

LOL these are selling like 500 copies combined.

#197 sold 405 copies in 2 days ... so lets say that both combined are around 1.500 copies Its not much... but they can make a difference too

Well I for one am conceding defeat, his manager says Rihanna has halved the gap and could possibly take over Olly by tommorrow. I don't think Gary Barlow and The Wanted tweeting to download the song is gonna swing it somehow! I feared the worst when he was denied his X Factor performance and the fact he couldn't perform his song on tv at all because of that was the final nail in the coffin. Well who cares anyway, the single is still doing well and his album selling well is a given, especially on the back of his X Factor and Xtra Factor performances. He's lucky to be doing the numbers he is when the likes of Pixie Lott are flopping, and he's ahead of the rest of the X Factor pack.

100k is a bit optimistic, his biggest selling hits only just got over that. No way this would have sold more than HSAB which was more of a crossover hit, that only sold 108,000 first week. But there's no doubt he has a higher profile than 1D and a more proven track record of sales.

Because the song is dull compared to his previous hits? He's usually pretty solid and I am a fan but DWMT is awful. Apparently these X Factor acts can't always release anything and expect an instant #1 anymore...

If this is true, GAME OVER!

But, don't run away from your cause just yet!
