19. Wishing On a Star - The X Factor Finalists 2011

I expect this to shoot straight up to #3 or so in one fell swoop any minute now, as Heroes did.

8pm top 100 update coming up a bit later. Maybe the #1 will be out of date again :P

Mamma Knows Best was used on SCD.

Ah, I see. :D I remember she performed it on Britain's Got Talent. It's a really good song imo. I love the brass instruments in it. It reminds me of Ain't No Other Man by Christina Aguilera.

What a fast climb to the top!

I'm happy because it's for charity but not sure if I like this version.

Justin Bieber and Kelly Rowland!

Great to see X Factor Finalists at number one. This charity single is good, if you forget about the pointless features of "JLS, 1D"

Don't really see Justin Bieber's performance doing much - I reckon he'll do a mash-up of 'Mistletoe' with one of his hits - possibly 'Baby' or 'Never Say Never' (like he did at the EMAs). Fanbase will have either bought the single already or purchased the Christmas album.

Kelly Rowland may get a third week in the T10 then - or will be a re-entry (she may slip this week from #6 to #11/12).

Have to say as a song I dont mind WOAS - certainly better than the last 2 XF Charity songs - JLS and 1D featuring is a tad pointless; but I guess if it helps to sell more for the charity its a good thing

Justin Bieber and Kelly Rowland!

Cool. I'm excited about Kelly Rowland's performance (although that's dependent upon whether she performs some of her good songs or her bad songs).

We should get Kelly Rowland iTunes domination this week since her album is released in a few hours.

Well, I did call it :P But it actually managed to go to #1 rather than #3 or so.

This is hardly unexpected, Heroes did exactly the same thing last year.

Pleased to see Olly overtaking Flo Rida, hopefully it can manage to stay a non-mover this week (although Rihanna is probably a more likely #2 as Olly's boost will obviously fade over the week - but if his album version charts high he could still challenge? Who knows).

Hope it doesnt stall at #11 though!

I'll be happy for 'Who You Are' to peak anywhere in the top 20 - a few weeks back I thought #40 was going to be its peak (and that was its chart position back in February). It's most likely been selling very small amounts since the respective album was released - it was a fan favourite before the album release and Jessie J promised it would be a single - it means too much for her.

Kelly Rowland domination next week? Hardly. 'Commander' will sell, 'Motivation' may sell, but 'Down for Whatever' is the only thing likely to have another version helping it sell - I reckon we'll see two T100 entries for Rowland - with 'When Love Takes Over' and 'What a Feeling' also climbing.
