January 20, 201213 yr I think the album is already dead, tbh. It wasn't even top 200 last week, and sales are absolutely awful. That means it'll probably be lucky to be selling a thousand copies a week. Shops aren't stocking it any more, it's gone from all the online charts, there's nothing promoting it and the girls have been quiet recently. By sending another single out, it would be a huge risk whether the radio would play it or not. If the radio didn't play it, it wouldn't stand a chance and then we'd be wasting money on a music video/promotion for nothing. The album already has a flop tag now, it's best just to move on. I don't even think a re-release would save it. :( And there's no point in releasing the Travie song. There's already a new girlband who've just released a music video with him (and it's actually full of energy and personality and the song is pretty good), so if The Sats done the same (with a much weaker song) it really won't help their credibility. I say move on (again) and just hope a Greatest Hits does something for them. Their label need to pull out all the stops for an X-Factor performance.
January 20, 201213 yr They fucked up by having songs which were unidentifiable. 'All Fired Up' as amazing and as successful as it has been (which I'd personally say it HAS been a success for them) could have been done by anyone. It's just, not them. Same with 'Notorious'. 'My Heart Takes Over' is a personal favourite of mine and it's baffling as to how it wasn't a success. Maybe what Scherz (?) said about it being a single which was led by the two members of the group who aren't as liked/popular as the other three played a factor? Although they definitely have two of the strongest voices in the band. (Both behind Una in terms of vocals, imo). That is part of the whole problem, that they're music is unidentifiable to an extent. They change their sound and mix it up for every release which although shows some sort of progression, the jump each time they've pushed it a little too far. Not that that's a bad thing, I think we can all agree that On Your Radar has gave us some fantastic material - The Saturdays at their best. 'My Heart Takes Over' wasn't a success because I think their casual audience prefer them doing the up-tempo tracks. Anything coming off the back of 'All Fired Up' was going to sound like a big dull dud. The production wasn't brilliant for 'My Heart Takes Over', in places there where distorted vocals, including the production itself in the chorus. Speaking of identity, I don't know any casual audience of their's would have been able to say "Oh yes this is The Saturdays!" when you've got a 50/50 mix of Vanessa/Ina on the chorus. Also, their so-called Airplay let them down a lot with this. No-one heard it. If they'd have gone with another track which had gone Top 10, I believe everything could be a different story.
January 20, 201213 yr I thought I jump on the bandwagon. Here is how I would have done the era with hindsight: 01 Notorious (as a held back release in May) 02 All Fired Up (released the week Promises by Nero went #1, they easily would have got #1) ---ALBUM RELEASE the week after--- 03 Last Call (official release in WB 23rd October) 04 Faster (official release in WB 9th January) 05 Promise Me (official release in late March) 06 NEW SONG (released in June 2012) ---ALBUM RE-RELEASE on the same week as single release (Bonus disc with 6 new songs)--- 07 Get Ready, Get Set (official release in August 2012) 08 NEW SONG [ballad] from re-release (official release in November 2012 with XF performance) I included a re-release to try and milk the sales as much as possible, particularly with the threat of this album needing to perform well.
January 20, 201213 yr I know I was terrible for the whole 'praying they get an XF performance this year' :P, but can we rule that out for this year? There's probably no chance they'll be invited on now if they didn't get on pre-OYR flop. Anyway, I'm so excited to see what they've been doing with Xenomania this week! Really happy to see Miranda (Cooper) is involved. And obviously with Brian behind it all will mean something special. :D Edited January 20, 201213 yr by Encore
January 20, 201213 yr I would go: 01 Notorious (held back) 02 All Fired Up ----album release---- 03 Last Call 04 White Lies 05 Faster (if WL did well enough) Then perhaps a re-release and 2 other singles if things went really well.
January 20, 201213 yr All Fired Up and Get Ready Get Set are easily (for me) the two best tracks that have came out of The Saturdays since Ego. Excited is not the word when it comes to The Sats recording more Xenomania material!
January 20, 201213 yr RochelleTheSats @RochelleTheSats 6m Reply Retweet Favorite · Open Good day at the studio today #hit woop x I guess this tweet also confirms Nessie hasn't quit the band... RochelleTheSats @RochelleTheSats 19 Jan Reply Retweet Favorite · Open In the studio with @vanessawhite we are sharing the same mic stand, slight hard as we are very different in height lol x RochelleTheSats @RochelleTheSats 19 Jan Reply Retweet Favorite · Open @unahealy ha she's reaching the note! It looks funny..x
January 20, 201213 yr I don't know why people would actually think she's quit? Odd. because they performed a big gig without her, despite her being there earlier, and tweeting about it, then gave no explination about her whereabouts nor mentioned her for days... so i can kinda understand, but nevermind, we know all is good now.... :teresa:
January 20, 201213 yr I hope a re-release happens majorly! Lady Killer was just used on big brother! Would love to see this re-enter the top 1000. The Saturdays iTunes. 290. The Saturdays - All Fired Up 890. The Saturdays - All Fired Up
January 20, 201213 yr *bandwagon* I'm not sure i'd have released All Fired Up as as a pre-album song. The fact it's done pretty well after leaving the top 100 tells me that it seems like it's one of those songs that just have to grow on people after a while, I think it'd probably have done alot better if it was released after the album. May - Faster September - White Lies ALBUM RELEASE November - All Fired Up January - Notorious
January 21, 201213 yr Why would people have the tendency to assume something just because it's not the norm?

I don't know if it would've done so much better...the album has got out of the top200 even though people were still buying All Fired Up the last weeks...but they didn't buy the album afterwards.
January 21, 201213 yr Judging by the tweets, I'd say they're recording a track to re-release the album on the back of? Edited January 21, 201213 yr by Scherz
January 21, 201213 yr In their new flip (which is hilarious and very "classic" in that Mollie is recording it :D) they're definitely recording new material. Frankie sang something like "ohh yeah, i've been dreaming about this". The fact all of the girls are at the studio together and have been all week tells me they either want to get everything recorded and finalised so they can take a break and then launch it all together with a new album, or they want to re-release On Your Radar while they still can. Of course, i'd rather they started touring Europe and promoting but there's no point until Una is ready.
January 22, 201213 yr I doubt this will actually affect anything (maybe a VERY minor iTunes boost) but they just played the instrumental of The Way You Watch Me on a VT on Dancing On Ice
January 22, 201213 yr Their TV plugger is certainly doing their job right lately! Edited January 22, 201213 yr by 2ndAdventure
January 22, 201213 yr So Last Two weeks Big Brother - Faster & LadyKiller Dancing On Ice - The Way You Watch Me (Instrumental) Take Me Out - All Fired Up Pity their actually not performing anywhere though!
January 22, 201213 yr Doing the whole "which singles and by what order would've you released" bandwagon thing, I would: 01. Notorious - Worked well as a "here's The Saturdays doing something different" introductory track, and a perfect pathway to... 02. All Fired Up - The club banger that worked wonders. It would be followed by --ALBUM RELEASE-- 02.5 My Heart Takes Over - Released as a Promo single, with video and all, so they could celebrate the arrival of Winter and Christmas and the honour of turning on the Christmas Lights at Oxford Street (which was quite LOL worthy for me) 03. Move On U - Single three and the start of the new year. Another club banger to take advantage of the quiet post-Xmas market, Top 3 written all over it. 04. Get Ready, Get Set - another banger because, to be honest, that's cool and hip right now and then maybe... 05. The Way You Watch Me - as a Spring single because it's Summery and breezy and you feel like listening to it driving down a long road in the sun.
