November 8, 201212 yr I echo the 'Body Electric' love. Very addictive song and my favorite together with 'Ride'.
November 8, 201212 yr I'm loving most all of it (not the same standard as Born To Die but then what is?) but Body Electric disappointed me a tad. I had super high expectations for it which it didn't entirely live up to it's still fab. The only non-gr8 track for me right now is Yayo and that's beginning to grow. November 8, 201212 yr Hmm I think Yayo is the first Lana track that I dislike :( It's too high-pitched for me and I can't even understand what she's saying for most of it. Plus it feels like it drags on FOREVER. Bit disappointed by the 'Paradise' EP, but I'll love Lana til the end of time <3
November 8, 201212 yr I've only listened to the new tracks once (apart from Ride), and they didn't connect with me as instantly as the original album. I will plow through them again and again tomorrow and will no doubt learn to LOVE them. On first listen American, Body Electric and G&M sounded the best but that could all change. I'm still fuming she didn't release Dark Paradise first. It would have led brilliantly into the Paradise stuff...
November 8, 201212 yr Author Like the original album (which has now grown on me massively) the new tracks are a mixed bag on first few listens. American was my favourite. Body Electric doesn't do it for me at all. Ride is such an 11/10.
November 9, 201212 yr Cola, American, Ride, and Body Electric are perfect. Gods and Monsters is great too.
November 9, 201212 yr 10 Ride 08 American 11 Cola 09 Body Electric 07 Blue Velvet 10 Gods & Monsters 09 Yayo 09 Bel Air 10 Burning Desire Just as solid as Born To Die, imo. Blue Velvet is a bit of a dud but that's just because I don't even like the original. Yayo does stick out a bit but it's still great. Cola is just sublime.
November 10, 201212 yr I'll reserve judgement for a while but on first couple of plays this isn't anywhere near as good as Video Games or Blue Jeans. http://www.rlgf.info/14.jpg http://www.rlgf.info/17.jpg Edited November 10, 201212 yr by greentom
November 13, 201212 yr The new tracks aren't a patch on the original album (which i am discovering ALL over again: Summertime Sadness, Dark Paradise, This is What Makes Us Girls... etc they're all so damn perfect). Of the new tracks i share the Body Electric love  I still can't get into Blue Velvet, and Yayo is pretty weak atm for me.
November 13, 201212 yr Blue Velvet and Yayo seem to be almost everyone's bottom two right now, which I'm not complaining about  Yayo is OK but still disrupts the EP so much for me - I wish Gods & Monsters led straight into Bel Air but I can't bring myself to delete/untick a Lana song :( Blue Velvet on the other hand is fine but still far below everything else.

This genuinely baffles me when "Yayo" is without a doubt, Lana's best song.
November 13, 201212 yr Try second worst (officially released). If nothing else it simply doesn't fit with the rest of the EP.
November 13, 201212 yr Blue Velvet is a good cover and works fine as a single for the H&M advert... I agree that it doesn't really fit in on the EP though. Yayo is a strange one because this is the third version (I think) to appear and while the new reverby production is nice, it still doesn't really fit with the rest of songs. It's such a gorgeous song though and the melody is very subtle but still has those nice little hooks. I guess that's why it was included on the EP, to finally give it an official release rather than just existing on deleted albums and leaked demos. I do think if they were produced by Emile Haynie or Rick Knowles, then Damn You, Never Let Me Go or Paradise would be better suited to the EP than Yayo and Blue Velvet though.
November 13, 201212 yr 09 Ride 08 American 06 Cola 09 Body Electric 08 Blue Velvet 09 Gods & Monsters 06 Yayo 08 Bel Air Much like the original album it's got lots of ups and downs, but at 30 minutes it's a MUCH easier listen and ultimately more rewarding. I did listen to the full Paradise Edition with 23 tracks last night and it was such a f***ing slog it really marred my enjoyment of the tracks I do love (Born To Die, Summertime Sadness, , Blue Jeans and Lucky Ones from the original album).
November 14, 201212 yr I don't feel that Paradise is anywhere near Born To Die, but it's pretty solid still. Nothing as good as Ride to my ears, but Cola and especially Body Electric come pretty close! I do like how it's a good natural progression from what we heard on Born To Die, without being a total departure. It's a good sign of what's to come hopefully, and it should steadily add a few sales to the album as well.
November 14, 201212 yr Are delux albums intended to be listened to as a whole? Not sure but The Fame Monster did a damn good job of it   I think that worked so well, because it was basically the dark, evil twin of The Fame. I agree with Liam, it's a nice subtle departure from the original, but still flows on from it quite nicely (despite a few blips).
November 14, 201212 yr The Fame/Monster really worked because the first half was really poppy and light, and the second half was the darker side of fame, like what happened when she got the fame. :)
