Ronaldo is NOT a good penalty kicker, he's missed most of them this year on Real Madrid. I felt bad for Moutinho though, he definitely didn't deserve to miss it considering how amazing he was not only this game, but throughout the competition.

His penalty record for Real Madrid is like 90% or something stupid. I can't think of many better penalty takers than Ronaldo.

He's scored 23 out of the last 25, i.e. 92%.

As for today's game, Italy obviously don't fancy their chances of beating Germany on penalties!

Italy have been a pleasant surprise this tournament. Genuinely didn't think they'd make it out of their group

Wouldn't be surprised to see them go on to win this now

oh well... the Germans were totally mullered they had a couple of chances throughout the game, never expected for Italy to go all the way or get out of their group, when they didn't qualify from the group stages in the World Cup 2 years ago. One of the best matches of the tournament.
Well, I'd have never called Italy making the final. Them to win please and get a 2nd title. Balotelli has really done well this tournament, so it would be a deserved win.

They love a good match fixing scandal...

Pleased-ish they won, but I did really want to see Germany - Spain in the final, they definitely deserved it though.

Hello :o

Before the footie started I put £1 each way on Italy to win at 14-1.

How much do I win if they beat Spain on Sunday and how much do I win if they lose?

Will it be enough to retire on? :P

It's been typical Italy - struggle to get out of the group and then improve steadily in the knock-out phase. When you bear in mind their game finished after midnight on Sunday night, that performance was even more impressive. Germany played well for the first 20 minutes or so after half time but that was it really.

Balotelli really does have the potential to be absolutely world class. That second goal was incredible, the skill that involved was unreal.

Spain will win the Euros, but Italy have done really well. They've really surprised me, but people have dismissed them as being terrible/punching above their weight when they really are not. They beat a good Germany side, but the Germans were never as strong as people made them out to be. Not as good as a side as 2010. They've got a good chance of 2014, but personally I don't think this current Germany set-up will win anything.

Just when you thought UEFA's ideas couldn't get any dafter Michel Platini has come up with a cracker. He has suggested Euro2020 could be played in a number of cities across Europe. That could mean Italy v Greece being played at Wembley on the same day that England play France in Moscow. Even people who dismiss the whole principle of a carbon footprint must surely think this idea is utterly bonkers.

Is that even a question? ITV's coverage is awful!

Supporting Spain for the win (obvs) and am going to watch it in a Spanish bar... so I hope for the sake of them that they do

ITV > BBC

Keane, Carragher, Martinez, Viera etc.. have clearly offered a lot more insight than the likes of Shearer, Hansen and Lineker could dream of

Adrian Chiles and adverts though ? Not so keen

BBC coverage has got a lot better since they went out there, and I know LAwro will be commentating but he's no worse than Andy Townsend, unless he's with Jonathan Pearce.

Co-commentator rank:

Beglin > Keown > Burley > Lawro > Townsend > Bright

BBC > ITV

Every time, look at the ratings for past WC's and Euros, and then there's the Royal Wedding, and Jubilee. Thank god BBC got the rights for MOTD for longer, I couldn't bare another Des Lynam style 'The Premiership' programme on ITV.

I fancy Italy to sneak it, depending how many midfielders Spain shove on the pitch. 4-6-0 again?

The BBC coverage of this Euro's has been seriously below par for them and ITV have been better than they normally are, I'd say they have been reasonably equal to be honest.

The puppets on ITV are freaky though
