February 6, 201213 yr On the plus side the sets were second to none and her dancing was great but I kinda wish I didn't stay up.
February 6, 201213 yr The spectacle was amazing, Vogue was a lot of fun. But the lip synching was awful! I wasn't expecting her to sing live but it was so mixed and tweaked that it just sounded ridiculous. Glad she sung Like A prayer though.
February 6, 201213 yr If she had wanted to do miming, she should have done what she does for the tours, record them in the studio and tweak them to sound like autotuned live vocals, as opposed to singing along to a CLEARLY way out of her reach pre-record. She hasn't hit notes like that IN HER ENTIRE LIFE.
February 6, 201213 yr My friend couldn't decide if it was mimed or not so I don't think it was *that* obvious to the average Joe. It was a fucking AMAZING performance. I don't mind that she mimed because the dancing was on point and then some. FAO Britney, that's how you do it! The production and staging on Vogue in particular was quite breathtaking and her exit was pretty f***ing iconic. *DROPS* Also Give Me All Your Luvin' made TOTAL sense in that setting.
February 6, 201213 yr Absolutely fabulous. I could barely tell that it was mimed, so I don't think it was that obvious either. Reaction on some other forums seem to be fairly mixed to positive, which is pretty good. What's the general reaction on twitter? I just know reviewers are going to totally focus on the lip-synching :( Edited February 6, 201213 yr by Silence
February 6, 201213 yr My friend couldn't decide if it was mimed or not so I don't think it was *that* obvious to the average Joe. Your friend is clearly an idiot. That, or they pay little attention to music, because it was so obvious. Music plays *mic at her side*
February 6, 201213 yr LOL but he's typical of the casual audience who knows jack about pop music. Maybe he's also an idiot though. Anyway I really could not be happier with that.
February 6, 201213 yr LOL but he's typical of the casual audience who knows jack about pop music. Maybe he's also an idiot though. I don't think you have to know anything about pop music to tell that wasn't live! There was no attempt at making those vocals sound like a live performance at all  Edited February 6, 201213 yr by Swagger91
February 6, 201213 yr Well they were pre-recorded... we know Madonna's vocals so we can say with some confidence it wasn't live but to somebody who isn't a fan it just sounded like she was singing well, at least when she had the mic at her face!
February 6, 201213 yr Early reaction seems to be pretty good, which I am very glad about. Twitter seems to have be mainly positive. It seems a lot of people can't tell if she was lip-synching or not, which is quite funny Edited February 6, 201213 yr by Silence
February 6, 201213 yr Sorry for all the posts, but apparently MIA swore during the performance? She flipped everyone off? LMAO
February 6, 201213 yr Yep. It seems to be the main talking point of the performance. Also Madonna's little stumble during 'Music'. Can't get enough of 'Give Me All Your Luvin'' and that performance of it was great! 'Vogue' and 'Music' remain utterly shit as songs, but these performances were good (Especially the guy on that tightrope thing during 'Music'. Which was good up until LMFAO came in :puke:). 'Like A Prayer' though was awesome! Still her greatest ever song for me.
February 6, 201213 yr How many acts mime during the half time show?. Quite often they used pre-recorded live vocals for the Super Bowl half-time show. I'm pretty sure that the Black Eyed Peas & Usher did last year.
February 6, 201213 yr mentalll highlights; madonna nearly falling off a bench trying and failing to get lmfao to wheelbarrow her (wtf) mia's faux cheerleader grin while hating every minute of it getting swallowed up by the gates of hell (ie BACK WHERE SHE BELONGS) lowlights; realising it's going to be a madonna medley creepy curly haired cherub man jumping on a wire lmfao's continued existence
February 6, 201213 yr As a show it was very good the miming was not on point as it was so obvious!!! Some clear mistakes there but overall still very good. M said she was feeling rusty and i imagine she was not totally happy with her performance. As a spectacle i loved it!!
February 6, 201213 yr Really? that seems stupid when there are so many breaks. Lol, it's the biggest television event of the year in America. Lots of people just watch the Superbowl for the advertisements, no joke. I thought Madonna was ok. Great production, but her miming was terrible. Missed the M.I.A. incident, but Madonna stumbling could have been so much wirse if she did not quickly recover. Best bit was Madonna doing the shuffle.
February 6, 201213 yr highlights; trying and failing to get lmfao to wheelbarrow her (wtf) OMG THIS  He was just holding her leg like dafuq? so much cringe
