Best performance, I could understand, because Kelly brought some serious life to that duet and Amelia just about managed to keep up. But Little Mix gave the vocal of the evening with their second perf. Amelia not even close.

I really hope the winners' song isn't Cannonball - It just will NOT suit Little Mix! Maybe something a bit rocky or fast á la Sound of the Underground ? But it'll 100% be a slow, dreary ballad that lifts up towards the end...

 

Thing is, I can't imagine 'Cannonball' being suitable for Marcus either. I can't really judge until I hear it but it seems like the most awkward live final moment since Ray Quinn sang 'A Moment Like This'. :lol:

 

Has it actually been confirmed as the winners' single?

It's funny to think when the auditions were happening a lot of people would have probably bet on it being an all girl final two. The girls just seemed that good.

Disappointed that Amelia didn't get it through to tomorrow, but I'm so proud that she got through this far anyway! I'm guessing the late performance slot didn't help her. Little Mix to win now!

 

That's scraping the barrel when it comes to excuses. There are only three acts left, I don't suppose the performance slots make any difference, and normally a late performance slot is seen as a good thing.

pleased with that result :D was never a fan of her being brought back halfway through and the other two are so much better, not watched the performances yet obvs, but I'm hoping for a Little Mix win atm

As far as I know that is the winners single, unless there is something else floating around that we don't know off.

I suspect there is, unless it's a Hallelujah situation, which was clearly chosen for Diana Vickers.

 

Anyway pretty gutted that Amelia went out tonight, she completely blew Kelly away on River Deep Mountain High. Decent top 2 I suppose though, but I don't see myself voting in the final or buying the single.

I don't see it that way at all. Either people knew their favourite going into the show, regardless of the order, or people waited until they'd all at least performed once before deciding..

As far as I'm concerned, Marcus and Little Mix could have turned in any old dire out of tune mess tonight and Amelia could have given the world's greatest vocal and it would have made precious little difference. As soon as it gets to the final it's more about established fanbase than anything else and those two have clearly had huge public support compared to Amelia who's both appeared in the bottom two and missed a lot of live shows and thus far less time to shine and let a fanbase grow.

 

I don't think her performing first, second or with Rihanna and Katy Perry would have made the blindest bit of difference to her fate this evening and imo it was a foregone conclusion that she was on her way tonight, I'm surprised the bookies had her as second favourite during the week...

You'd be surprised how people can decide they like something (based on a whim) without ever watching it/listening to it/playing it.

 

This isn't just x factor, but online I'm always seeing comments from people saying they love a game or a movie and it isn't even out yet.

I have to agree that tonight is not going to have swayed anything for 99% of the voting public. People know who they're supporting at this point.

Just voted for Little Mix, first time I've voted for anybody in X Factor since Leona in 2006 (who I voted for every week without fail). Can honestly see them becoming a new favourite act of mine.

Overall, this wasn't quite the disappointing show I thought it'd be. I really enjoyed all three duets. Marcus and Gary gave a beautiful performance, Tulisa surprised me with her singing ability with Little Mix (though I don't think they should have switched to "Empire State Of Mind") but Amelia and Kelly gave possibly my favourite performance of the series. I've never thought much of Amelia, but their voices really bounced off each other and it was so FUN to watch. It was almost a shame to see her leave. DEFINITELY team Little Mix for tomorrow though, they've been my favourites for a while now.

Bloody missed it but I'm glad Little Mix are still in it. Really hope they win now so that we don't have to suffer through the second hand embarrassment of another male winner tying to be successful.

& I think Gary's obvious bias towards Marcus is what makes him so annoying to me. That and he's just so cheesy.

Amelia gave her 2 best performances to date tonight but I'm still very glad to see her out (even though she should have already gone or preferably never came back, I still think they should have brought Johnny back).

Leona strangling all the emotion out of 'Hurt' was downright offensive and yeah I was expecting it to be a better show, Little Mix's duet was good even though Tulisa outsang them all completely! I am certain Marcus is going to win this though.

I thought Marcus' and Little Mix's song choices were below average for them, preventing outstanding performances. Amelia on the other hand had very strong song choices and performed well but was never going to win anyway.

 

The duets were quite a moment. I expected car crash and instead got rather impressive vocals from all three judges. If anyone knows where I can download the duets (iTunes says no) let me know!!

 

I am now fully behind Little Mix, who would be a much more interesting win.
