Golden Disk Awards is tonight and tomorrow split into two. I suppose first is for physical and second night is for digital.

 

As for ELFs, what I said about them is for the majority of them and how they act. Yes most fanbase have these delusional fans but ELFs and exceptionally delusional and loon their biases so much that they end up doing stupid things or insult other groups. They were the ones responsible for a black ocean to Girls' Generation on their early days which is absolutely HORRIBLE.

 

As for flop wise, selling a lot of albums doesn't necessary mean you aren't flopping. Albums are a core identifier of how big a fanbase of an act is and digital is the public appeal for them/the song. Yes they sell a lot of albums but they ARE flopping with each single release and coming Top 10 then plummeting out is very poor for one of the biggest K-Pop groups in Korea. Anyone can go and buy a billion albums to boost sales so it's not that impressive.

 

As for the winners, the list is ridiculous for those who won were those who attended. It's always like that with Korean music shows. The winners are those who attend and those who get nominated and don't turn up, mostly win nothing.

I think we are going to have to agree to disagree as I think we both have different perspectives on what warrants a 'flop' and whether or not Super Junior are indeed flopping as well as whether singles or albums are more important. I don't think we're going to convince each other of each others opinions, so this is probably going to be a never ending circle and it could put other people off posting in here and I don't want to do that. Regardless of if Super Junior are flopping or not, as long as they're doing well enough to keep appearing on shows, touring and of course making new music that I can enjoy, then I will be happy. :D

I mean I know my bias out of the rookies is B.A.P but the fact they have released 4 albums/singles and 1 repackage album with all the total sales of it exceeding EXO-K and Golden Disc Awards is meant to be the most "fair" award as it goes by total sales shows it's biasness. Plus I'm fairly sure Ailee outsold JUNIEL female wise as well.

 

It's pretty much guaranteed that those who attend the Korean music award shows, win an award. If you're new to K-Pop, you won't know this but this is pretty much a confirmed fact. Varying from Golden Disc, MAMA, Melon, they all award those who attend so these award shows have already irrelevant values and aren't imo considered valid at any means.

Finally got round to the Kyary songs, Yu. 'Furisodation' is AMAZING. (The other song is good too, but you're right, I preferred the former :P) She never fails to impress me with her videos too <3

'Step' is definitely one of the finest K-Pop songs, that I have ever heard (and it'll always have a special place in my heart too as it's the first K-Pop track that I truly loved!). It was always very instant with me, but I can see why it may have taken others a little while longer to click with it.

Could it be that they just invite the artists who are going to win an award? I mean the closing date for voting by either the public or judges will surely be quite a bit before the ceremony itself, therefore they have time to get a 'relevant' guest list/performers. I'm not saying it is that, I obviously don't know, I'm just putting another option forwards than it being something going on.

Personally, I don't care that much for the actual awards, I feel proud and happy for the artists that win and a bit sorry for the ones that don't, but it doesn't really mean that much, it's just some peoples opinion. My list is basically the same, maybe add Exo in there as well, they certainly have some great artists under their belts. I do like quite a few artists from other companies too but not as consistently.

Ah I saw that news yesterday, I think it's Henry & Zhou Mi's first Korean tv performance which is cool, hopefully everything goes well. I don't think there's a Korean version out there, but presumably they will perform it in Korean on those shows. Ah Oppa Oppa is a tune, I only came across that last week, it's so bizarre but amazing! lol

 

 

Also, I saw that Girls Generation & Super Junior M have both topped the billboard world albums chart in the last few weeks, that seems pretty cool. I'm not entirely sure what it means but I saw a lot of sites posting about it so presumably it's at least a little significant. Go SME. ;)
