What about the ones before 1982

If we get enough voters, I will start one from 1952-1981....this is a dummy run sort of thing.

12 1984 Band Aid

10 1996 Spice Girls

08 1992 Whitney Houston

07 1987 Pet Shop Boys

06 1991 Queen

05 1983 Flying Pickets

04 2005 Shayne Ward

03 2003 Andrews & Jules

02 1995 Michael Jackson

01 2006 Leona Lewis

Is this happening then? If so, merge them.

They can't be merged because they're not exactly the same thing - this could run at the same time I suppose but it'd be a bit pointless as mine (which I'm planning to start on Saturday) is basically the same but including a lot more songs as it's based on the Christmas top 3s (since 1981) rather than just the #1s.

Actually why not add the songs, and we joint do this?

Eh, I'm not really sure how that would work to be honest. My plan for my rate's threads is this:

Saturday 10th: Voting on Christmas #1s 1952-1980 (this would be better than 1971-80 I've decided as it means it'll have roughly the same amount of songs as the other rounds - some of the earlier ones won't be so well-known but too bad)

Saturday 17th: Voting on Christmas top 3s 1981-1990

Saturday 24th: Voting on Christmas top 3s 1991-2000

Saturday 31st: Voting on Christmas top 3s 2001-2011 (since 2011's will have been announced by then)

Then some time in the new year there would be a wildcard voting thread and a final voting thread, following the same formula as danielXF's 'Ultimate' series earlier this year.

The only way I could see this working is if you convert this thread into a 1952-1980 #1s rate (in other words making it exactly the opposite of what it is now ) then I do the other 3 threads myself as planned.

OK you're onto a deal there :)

Seems to be pointless if you don't include prior Xmas #1s and what's the point of having a dummy run, when members have to vote again.

Can you please PM the chart mods regarding the comp.

OK you're onto a deal there :)

Yes, I will close this now - please start your new thread so Bre can continue as planned.
