I bet that Welsh teacher is gutted, his version was far superior to both finalist's versions and was clearly the inspiration for the song choice!

Do we really need to get digs in at The Saturdays though? I don't think The Sats will last much longer (think they'll split mid/end of 2012) but there's more than enough room for 2 girlbands and to like them both when we've 3 boybands on the scene at the moment... don't see why people need to belittle one group to big the other up, or feel they have to like one but dislike the other, or act like it's a competition between them... it's silly. IMO both Little Mix and The Sats are very different image wise and probably in terms of sound too so it's easy to like both without the need to make out one's better than the other. Although I'd guess Little Mix will most likely definitely surpass The Sats achievements in about half the time lol.:P

So excited for these girls, big fan already! Jade's my favourite. :)

If they're being held up as something to aspire to then YES. And you just contradicted yourself by belittling them with that last sentence. What are they gonna do when they aren't introduced as 'Britain's biggest girlband' anymore? People will realise they don't sell records. There is no doubt in my mind that Little Mix will be bigger than them and they'll probably finish them off. I really like White lies and All fired up, don't mind their personalities, but they are the best by default. In contrast I can see Little Mix going over 100k first week album sales and being a major brand. I'm happy we have a girl band finally worthy of the mantle of best in Britain.

Yeah I read that back and my bad. :P

Anyway, people have no problem with having 3 boybands shoved down our throats at the moment though with 1D, JLS and The Wanted so it's hardly affected them not having a 'Britain's biggest boyband' tag - people buy into all 3 of them still. I agree The Sats are the biggest by default, that's been obvious all along and it doesn't take a genius to work that out... nevertheless it's frustrating because The Sats have had 2 years by now to properly cement themselves as the biggest through sales but they still haven't managed it.

Besides there was an interview with Little Mix put up today and they said they see themselves as different to The Sats and they look up to them... I don't see why both can't be successful girlbands. We need more girlbands! Oh, and I don't really get you saying Little Mix are finally worthy of the mantle of best in Britain when they haven't released their own material yet... perhaps next year. I'm excited to see what the future holds for Little Mix. :D

I am glad they won, of the 3 finalists I slightly preferred them, but would have been happy with Marcus. I imagine I will pick up the CD single which I assume will

be out this week?

CD is out on Wednesday, randomly.
Just in time for my Birthday on Thursday :D
When does the video usually come out?

Last year Matt's video was out the Wednesday/Thursday after the final so I assume this should be the same.

Always is, assume it's to give them time to make enough copies after they know who's won.

I'm in love with the studio version, their vocals are just  . I really hope they can get the Christmas #1 next week as well, and I think with a full week of physical sales next week it should happen!
I heard the studio on radio this morning. I was just about to plug in the iPod when Kingdom introduced it so I swayed along to that before resuming my iPod. Was quite nice. They outsung Marcus by a mile last night on this song so deserved it. It's also the only other time for me when they've had some good harmonies, although Perrie was a little off I thought and they needed a lower register while she was wailing away in the higher one.
their version is a bit bland, I guess I'm not that fond of the original anyway, so I have no strong views :P still, I'm definitely interested to see what they come up with next

Again you disagree then make my argument for me. If they can't sell when they have the market cornered, how will they cope with Little Mix to compete with? As The Saturday's sales show there just isn't the same appetite for girlbands as boybands. Right now IMO there's barely enough room for one, and if that proves true, there'll only be one winner... Little Mix. It's clear to see why they're worthy of being the biggest girlband; their vocal harmonies, a lead singer who can sing/has star quality, overall stronger vocalists, cooler, fresher, more popular, and definately more relatable.

When does the video usually come out?

Don't worry, I can tell you that all its gonna be is the 4 of them standing against a black background with a few candles with their XF journey playing in black and white behind them

First X Factor winner's single I've bought (pre-ordered the CD).

I actually love their version. But obviously, waiting for proper material. SO EXCITED!

I didn't buy Steve Brookstein & Matt Cardle's CDs (I didn't buy Steve Brookstein in any form, and just legally downloaded Matt). Bought all the other winners' CDs, and will definitely be buying Little Mix's CD too. :D

Just like Eyes, I actually love their version. Fingers crossed their future material is fantastic; I can't wait to see what they come up with.

Their album is up for pre-order with a release date of September 3rd, 2012. Hopefully this gives us a good sign that they will release their next single before the X Factor live shows, but I'd prefer if they would follow a similar release strategy to Olly Murs.
Anyone know what pre-order date Matt's album had at this time last year, and whether they stuck to it? I'm certain it wasn't as early as that, so it is a good sign. Good release date as long as it doesn't get pushed back, with the lead single being released one or two weeks before, with the single premiering at least a month in advance, so no later than the end of July. Of course a single a bit before then would be even better but that would be fine. With a second single (post-release) once the live shows have started that will keep selling the album.
That will just be a holding date, all of the online retailers require one. Release dates are never decided before material is even recorded.
