December 13, 201114 yr To be honest it's not surprising Little Mix is underperforming compared to Joe and Matt. Joe had extra downloads because of the campaign, and Matt topped the voting EVERY week except week 1 whereas Little Mix only got real popular towards the end. I would still like LM to sell 250k at least, but not even that might happen. I would hate it if this was the least popular winners single ever, but I don't think Steve Brookstein and Leon Jackson did very well so LM could possibly beat them
December 13, 201114 yr Only 68k for Little Mix  If I remember correctly the first day sales "Louder" were around the same, this is such a massive flop for X Factor :o It won't even shift 200k if it sells like this :( and next week will be an easy win for Military Wives Choir, with them breaking pre order records and everything They will have big physicals from Wednesday so they will easily pass the 200k mark. I think they'll sell around 250k. The most important is to have a great second single that will properly launch their career ;)

The most important is to have a great second single that will properly launch their career ;) Michael Buble really dominates at Christmas it is scary that he is still so popular.Next week the Military Wives will dominate the British love that type of thing. I hope Rebecca Fergusons sales are still strong this week. I will put money on the fact that Little Mix will struggle to a build a solid career. The talent this year was poor and they were not even the best of a bad bunch.
December 13, 201114 yr Author I was hoping that, as I'm less 'out' on Kate Bush now but Nickelback still screwed me over royally :/ I thought it would be #21 at this point apparently  Anyway, back to the chart - Little Mix then look to be on course to sell around 150k-180k downloads and maybe 50k-100k CD's (it's almost impossible to guage though) - an opening week of 200-280k overall? Would be the lowest since Steve Brookstein wouldn't it :o Maybe they'll sell another 150k next week but the Military Wives really look like a certainty for xmas #1 right now imo... You could guage it as a normal week without the X Factor buzz I guess say 68k times 3.5 it would get you sales of 238k, probably less with it trailing off at the end of the week towards 190-200k I guess you could add another 120-150k to it, could be looking at anything between 320k or less, that seems like a safe bet. I really don't know though, its me playing around with figures. You've also got the Royal Variety performance on Wednesday and whoever is performing on there is going to effect the charts in some form.
December 13, 201114 yr Without hearing a single note I'd say they'll never be as popular as Hear'say if they're on Cowell's label.
December 13, 201114 yr I sometimes wonder if Will's sales would have been different if he'd released Evergreen at Christmas instead of February, I think Cowell has done the winners release differently this year to avoid the yearly rising backlash.
December 13, 201114 yr So happy to see Leona at #3. (and #18 & #19 :heehee: They'll correct that by tomorrow probably) Never expected it to get so high, Royal Variety Wednesday will hopefully keep it up, but even if it ends up #4 or #5, or anywhere in top 10 for that matter it'll be amazing. Wow huge sales for Buble, and again for Winehouse. Album sales are going to be huge for the next 2 weeks, and I wonder if Little Mix will hold on to #1 next week, physical sales will no doubt be huge, but i'd love to see Paradise at #1. Hope they keep it 59p for a good while, may have a chance in the new year for that #1 spot! Edited December 13, 201114 yr by Karma
December 13, 201114 yr Albums With little more than a week to go Michael Buble is staking a serious claim to top the festive artist albums chart with his album Christmas’s sales rising week-on-week by 79%. So if the overall weakly increase is 50% he could even sell 300k this week! He now has an outside chance of becoming the 2nd best selling album of the year! (and Coldplay could finish fifth! )
December 13, 201114 yr Little Mix may sell less this year, since X Factor ratings are a bit low this year...
December 13, 201114 yr It got mad towards the end of the week, multiple downloading, using free codes to download the songs, buying extra copies of the cd. It was the biggest xmas chart battle i can remember and people who wouldn't normally buy either purchased one or the other depending on what side of the fence they fell. I mean 400k downloading 'rage' basically because of the chart battle not because of the song, shows you 150k extra for joe because of the same reason is not hard to believe. I can see where you're coming from but the "Rage" people had a point to prove so I can understand them multi-buying etc. I only bought it once though and that was to support Joe as I wasn't to keen on the song choice. Just don't understand why people think Joes sales would be lower than other winners when his winning Margin was second only to Leona's. Anyway moving on the Little Mix single is not good so maybe that's why it's sales are poor.

December 13, 201114 yr Hmm, they do look vulnerable to the twin campaigns next week but it's hard to tell just yet, we'll have a better idea when we see how their sales hold up for the rest of the week.
December 13, 201114 yr Amen! terrible band who will not last at all eww! Right term please! GROUP!!
December 13, 201114 yr Is Military Wives a campaign? There IS a campaign page for it on Facebook but it only has about 20,000 members and that's not at all representative of the public interest behind the song, it would be unfair to say that it got to #1 off the basis of a campaign if it did so next week. Whereas the Nirvana song is obviously a campaign aimed directly at derailing X Factor. It seems to me that if Military Wives do get the #1 then it will be the first song getting to #1 in normal circumstances since Band Aid 20 in 2004, although obviously it's for a cause and so was that, so the last song with absolutely no ties or external interest to get the xmas #1 was Mad World in 2003. Still, it would be nice to see a xmas #1 alternative to the X Factor winner which got there purely off the back of the interest in the song itself.
December 13, 201114 yr SyCo should just drop them come January really. How on earth is Iris and Colorblind in the top 20?
December 13, 201114 yr Tony's complaint post Rubbish band singing rubbish song tops singles chart, inevitably. X Factor sheep also discover Coldplay.

December 13, 201114 yr Tony's complaint post Rubbish band singing rubbish song tops singles chart, inevitably. X Factor sheep also discover Coldplay. The last bit is so true, it does concern me that the biggest band in the country were apparently being underexposed before last weekend.
December 13, 201114 yr What sort of campaign? I dunno maybe we could download Rage Against the machine? It won't take as many people as last time
