4. Sean Paul ft. Alexis Jordan - Got 2 Luv U

25-01-02-03-05-06-06-07-16-17-11-09-12-19-12-09-12-15-17-17-27-48

'I, I'd do anything I could for you, boy you're my only'

For a weird unexplainable reason, this is the only Sean Paul single I've heard that I really love. Nothing to do with that brilliant chorus by some unknown female singer, is it? Despite myself, I couldn't help but get obsessed with this, I will admit that it's fairly generic, and the video is a complete On The Floor rip-off (although containing the inspiration for one of my best signatures on here ). But I really like this. I charted it way before it's late UK release, and despite it not doing brilliantly here, I don't believe I heard it once on radio outside the Chart show, but it sounded great on there. I never got tired of Alexis' big chorus, and at one point, this may have been in contention for the top 3, but it just got edged out by the #3.

3. The Wombats - Jump Into The Fog

01-01-01-01-02-03-05-05-11-22-19-30-24-30-37-35-44-31-44

'Not a problem with me love, you don't look that hygienic anyway

I'm only here because I want to twist the structure of my average day'

Ah yes. The Wombats. The band that I was prepared to hype to high heaven when I arrived here, but I got Alexis' album and CHANGED HISTORY. Probably for the better, I mean, if me looning over Alexis Jordan is a little bizarre, but I do enjoy it, standard landfill indie band that has nothing to do with pop is even more strange. But I really like the music. Jump Into The Fog I have already announced in my top 100 thread as being in my top 100 songs of all time, so, at the moment, only 3 songs from 2011 have made my top 100. More will follow eventually as they get older, 2011 wasn't that bad. I could just copy a bit from there, but I'll try and write a decent bit about this, it's got a haunting perfect-for-winter-walks instrumental, it's got a title that is lovely to look at and is replicated perfectly in the chorus, and is almost the epitome of a brilliant guitar song for me. More indie than rock (so as not to invalidate Monster being my best rock song), it's still a great song that I still enjoy even now.

2. Alexis Jordan - Hush Hush

06-11-21-12-12-19-03-01-01-01-01-03-03-05-08-11-15-12-16-20-29-35-41-40-43-50

'Tossed my emotions so here's the commotion

Feels good to hold the knife, cut me out just right

Revenge and a kiss, cause baby I'm a snitch'

Alexis doesn't make the #1! :o In fact, nice little fact for any fact fans, The Wombats and Alexis were #3 and #2 in my 2010 chart last year, beaten by a different act to #1 both times. The looning for Hush Hush in my chart is nothing short of epic, and indeed, so is the song itself. The lyrics are so quotable that I've used them around the site as much as I can without becoming annoying, it's my most mourned flop in the UK probably ever (ONLY #66 INDEED!), she may not have made it to #1, but she did a damn good job of producing yet another brilliant song. Maybe she'll produce a song in 2012 to make my EoY #1. For now, you're going to have to be content with the silver Alexis. Enjoy the gold from the albums chart though, it's shiny.

And so my #1 is....

1. David Guetta ft. Sia - Titanium

01-01-02-01-02-03-03-03-04-06-06-05-09-11-14-18-24-42-46-46-16 (still charting)

'I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose, fire away, fire away'

In the end, it couldn't have been anything else. Hush Hush wasn't even close (although if I had done a points system, Hush Hush would have won, the top 5 would be the same, except Titanium would have been in 5th). It's by far my favourite song that has appeared on the scene this year, and that it's looking likely to become a hit soon as I write this means it'll probably stay in my chart for a long time to come. I had been disappointed with Guetta before I heard this. It all sounded the same, all very generic. Then I heard this as a promotional single and I was dumbstruck. I also couldn't stop playing it, I've played it over 80 times and counting, by far my highest play count for a single song since I started my last.fm and iTunes counting. Sia's vocals are absolutely sublime, the production is brilliant, it's made me fall in love with Sia as a singer, it's amazing. Also, this is the reason I've stalled my thread in the Lounge recently, it's coming up soon in my top 100, and I didn't want to give it away, plus it allowed me to concentrate on this. Go Titanium. It's already a future classic for myself, and it will stay with me for ever.

Thank you to everyone that commented while I was doing this countdown, it's been fun. I shall post a full list for people to comment on as soon as I've had dinner.

Thanks Ghosty! :D Well, I don't throw it out everywhere that I like the Wombats like I do Alexis, but Jump Into The Fog was really quite a good song, and since it took me forever to be bored of it, and it was leading my YTD rankings all the way until Titanium got released (poor Hush Hush never stood a chance), it quite deserves to be top 3!

1. Surprising? Well, maybe, but it had to be one of a few choices, and Titanium was one of them. I didn't see myself putting something from Guetta at #1 6 months ago though.

20. It wasn't originally top 20, but I moved it up as I was doing this, I thought it deserved it.

32. Would have been better and done better than I Can, I think, something like this would go down excellently in Europe. :(

43. Honestly, both Loreen singles have been so good, the thought of an album is just amazing.

50. It's decent already! :P But yes, she does add a little something to the chorus that makes it.

71. Running Scared is my personal favourite, so I was rather glad it won. But there were a lot of good songs in there, I'm hoping the next contest will be as good.

75. *makes note on perpetually open Notepad to listen to that, have listened to Wonders though, at least*

100. I've listened to a lot of Ciara's stuff, and I do like a bit of it, but yes, this is easily her best track I've heard. It's got so much energy in it compared to the rest of the songs on Basic Instinct.

I knew that number 1 was coming :P Great top 10, I like them all except Got To Love You! Great to see Jessica Mauboy so high too, she's in my top 15 singers ever and WHTU is one of her best! And I can reveal one song in your top 20 has a snap position to in mine :o

Did you now? :D

Jessica Mauboy is quite amazing, I keep meaning to check out her older stuff (with me constantly saying that, you see my problem? :P) but WHTU is a tune.

Ooh, which one could it be? Nightwish? :P

Seriously though, my guess would be Jojo or Adele. I'll have to see.

Hello, here are my likes/comments

1. David Guetta ft. Sia - Titanium (very good number 1, everyone seems to love this! I really hope it finds success this year)

5. Rihanna - California King Bed

6. Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath

8. Coldplay ft. Rihanna - Princess Of China (surprisingly, I'm not actually that keen on this :o I hope it grows :( )

9. Katy Perry - The One That Got Away (took an age to grow, but this is really good, one of her best)

11. Adele - Set Fire To The Rain (I got really sick of her through overplay, this still sounds good though, it would've probably made my chart if it wasn't so overplayed)

12. Christina Perri - Jar Of Hearts (even with slight overexposure, it still sounds excellent )

14. Labrinth ft. Tinie Tempah - Earthquake

15. Take That - Happy Now

very good chart here :D

Hello Isaac :D

I'm going to attempt to comment on others YTD charts. My chart of 2011 has also been completed too[/shamelessplug] :D I shall comment of tracks that made my chart of 2011 (there's more I can talk about  ).

1. David Guetta ft. Sia - Titanium

Excellent no. 1 single for 2011. Is your end of year chart based on a points system or just personal opinion? 'Titanium' had a fantastic run inside your top 10. It's well deserved though as it's David Guetta's best single that was released in 2011.

11. Adele - Set Fire To The Rain

Great to see this end 2011 as Adele's biggest hit in your chart. Adele pretty much dominated my chart in 2011 with three chart toppers plus '21' is an excellent album which deserved to be such a monster seller all over the world.

19. Coldplay - Paradise

'Paradise' is officially Coldplay's biggest hit in my chart despite only peaking at #4. It's done incredibly well overall returning to my top 10 post X Factor performance and has capitalised on my final chart of 2011 being fairly quiet. I'm sure 'Mylo Xyloto' will hit a million sales in the next few weeks.

21. Rihanna - We Found Love

Love it!!! This should've been used as Calvin Harris' comeback single. Rihanna just continues to produce the goods. I reckon if I did a chart counting down the most successful artists in my chart, I reckon Rihanna could potentially be my #1.

22. Kanye West - All Of The Lights

Excellent to see this track here. :D I've liked a few Kanye West singles over the years but 'All Of The Lights' was such a musical epic it just had to be a massive hit. At least it was in my chart. I'm surprised the music channels were willing the play the video. I wonder if anyone watched this on The Box and ended up having a seizure. :o

23. Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me

By far my favourite single by Example. It just clicked from the first listen - the bleepy synth melody at the start was a proper throwback to the dizzying heights of 90s Eurodance but still managing to be cool and avoid being crass or cheesey.

26. Kyla La Grange - Heavy Stone

Oh, what a pleasant surprise. :o Believe it or not, Kyla La Grange is due to finally enter my chart this coming weekend as my personal faves from BJSC XXXIL :D I know it's a good month since the contest ended but I wanted to hold back the entries so that they can capitalise on 2012 and if they're successful enough they might get a good showing when it comes to me counting down my Chart of 2012. :D

33. Bad Meets Evil ft. Bruno Mars - Lighters

I was quite surprised that this only made #10 in the UK. When I first heard the track, I really liked it but the music video hadn't been released so it floating around iTunes without ever taking off. When the video did go into heavy rotation, I expected 'Lighters' to become a decent sized hit but I guess the momentum had worn off by the time it peaked. :(

38. Ed Sheeran - The A Team

A promising debut single that led to a very successful year for Mr Sheeran. Whilst I preferred 'Lego House', I still think 'The A Team' is a great track and lyrically quite clever too.

42. Lady Gaga - The Edge Of Glory

Yay!!! :D What turned out to be a lukewarn success story for Lady GaGa (you can't say the era bombed in all fairness) it was the release of 'The Edge Of Glory' that made the most impact on me. This was when the record company were just releasing album tracks as individual download singles to built up momentum for the release of the album. This track provided the GaGa with her biggest hit in chart for 2011.

47. Jennifer Lopez - On The Floor

After years of not releasing any material worthy of note, J-Lo had a fantastic return with 'On The Floor'. I don't think anybody expected Jennifer Lopez to get a hit single - yet alone her biggest hit in her career. Yet that's exactly what was achieved and I still think this track is brilliant.

66. Adele - Rolling In The Deep

So much lower than 'SFTTR'. :o 'Rolling In The Deep' was the perfect track to introduce '21' and it clearly worked wonders. Of course that Brit Awards performance made a huge different just a fortnight later. I'm really happy for Adele to have had such a successful year with her second album - many UK artists, for some reason, tend to suffer from "dreaded second album" syndrome but not Adele. :D

72. DJ Fresh ft. Sian Evans - Louder

73. Beyonce - Best Thing I Never Had

Might as well mention these together. Two of my #1 hits back to back, 'Louder' was the track I enjoyed the most during the summer whilst Beyonce really benefitted from her Glastonbury show which I watchd on TV. 'BTINH' is a brilliant track and much more keeping in vein with the type of RnB I like to listen to.

90. Chase & Status - Blind Faith

It's funny to think that in early 2011 dubstep was supposed to have been the big sound of the year. On reflection, it's quite clear that the sound of 2011 was either "club bangers" or "piano ballads". :D Regardless, 'Blind Faith' was easily one of my fave tracks from the early part of the year and I'd say is the best dubstep track that made the UK charts.

I like these in the top 100 Eyes :D

1. David Guetta ft. Sia - Titanium Excellent choice of #1! It definitely deserves to be a HUGE UK hit so here's hoping!

2. Alexis Jordan - Hush Hush Happiness remains my favourite of hers although the album was pretty good!

13. The Saturdays - Faster

70. New Boyz ft. Dev - Backseat

71. Eli & Nikki - Running Scared Wouldn't have even been in my top 200 of the year :( I won't say it's my least favourite winner in ages because 2008's Believe was much worse...

72. DJ Fresh ft. Sian Evans - Louder

73. Beyonce - Best Thing I Never Had

74. Wynter Gordon - Dirty Talk

75. The Sound Of Arrows - Nova

76. Matt Cardle - Starlight Strange that this wasn't his debut, far better than Run For Your Life!

99. Delilah - Go!

I only heard 'Titanium' last month. Not sure why/how it took me so long! :o Great track.

'Hush Hush' I was obsessed with this when Alexis' album came out. I confess by the time it became a single I'd become a bit bored of it due to over-playing, oops! Loving it again recently.

Wonderful Top 100! :D

PS: I'm pleased to see a couple of Melanie C singles made the Top 200!

Hello, here are my likes/comments

1. David Guetta ft. Sia - Titanium (very good number 1, everyone seems to love this! I really hope it finds success this year)

3. The Wombats - Jump Into The Fog (I'd almost forgotten about this :o I do quite like them though)

4. Sean Paul ft. Alexis Jordan - Got 2 Luv U (a grower definitely, the chorus is very infectious!)

16. Ed Sheeran - You Need Me

19. Coldplay - Paradise (I think my thoughts on this are fairly clear :P )

21. Rihanna - We Found Love

22. Kanye West - All Of The Lights

23. Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me

37. Nicki Minaj ft. Rihanna - Fly

38. Ed Sheeran - The A Team

65. Afrojack - No Beef

68. Kasabian - Days Are Forgotten

71. Eli & Nikki - Running Scared (I didn't actually think this was that bad a winner, preferable to what finished in second anyway)

74. Wynter Gordon - Dirty Talk

77. Katy B - Broken Record

79. Alex Gaudino ft. Kelly Rowland - What A Feeling

99. Delilah - Go!

very good chart here :D

Thank you very much C.W! Meant to reply to this earlier, but I lost the half-finished piece. :drama:

1. It's climbing up iTunes rather fast. I don't doubt it'll be a big hit in the early part of 2012, what will this mean for my next EoY chart though?

3. I'd literally only just joined Buzzjack when it got released, so you missed me hyping it up. I did really love it after Tokyo though.

8. That's a shame. I think it's one of Coldplay's best, and I do tend to really like them normally too. Hopefully you'll come round to it.

Set Fire To The Rain and Jar Of Hearts are two ballads that never ever got old for me, even with overplay. Ballads don't tend to grate on me as much as upbeat tracks in that respect, especially if they are 'powerful' ballads, which excludes Someone Like You in my view.

44. Rocketeer was another track I really enjoyed. It's ended up rather low, but both this and Jump Into The Fog were two of only 3 tracks to get 4 weeks at #1 in my chart, so interesting that you put them together. Even though I was obsessed with it in March, I'd forgotten it existed a few months later, so that's why it ended up so low.

71. Yay, another fan of Running Scared! :D Italy's entry was dull, really dull. I actually got into an argument on another forum with some people who called Italy's song a great musical creation, Eric Saade pop trash (and not in the affectionate sense either), and Ell & Nikki a forgettable dull ballad winner that no-one would remember in 6 months (specifically me, well, I proved them wrong then). Well, it's opinions and all, but it raised my hackles a bit. When Popular and Running Scared were my two favourites going into the contest, I was really quite excited that they both did so well. I have a limited experience of Eurovision, but Running Scared is actually one of my favourites I've heard from the contest full-stop.

90. I loathed it originally, most songs I hate originally, I end up really liking, Blind Faith is just one of the biggest of those.

Thank you very much, Hits! I'll take some time properly reply to all of these comments (always interesting to read). I shall be commenting on your EoY chart as soon as I'm able to, probably at the weekend.

I love that top 10 run for Titanium, it's so pretty, and fully deserved, I couldn't get enough of it from the date it was released.

My chart isn't based on a points system, I don't think it's representative of my opinion, plus, there were numerous tracks that defines 2011 that would have made it nowhere near this chart with a points system. I do keep a points system though, down to a top 100 to accommodate possible changes in length of chart, but I normally only publish a top 50.

For interest, here are my top 20 singles via points system.

1. Hush Hush - Alexis Jordan - 2448

2. California King Bed - Rihanna - 2279

3. Jump Into The Fog - The Wombats - 2111

4. Got 2 Luv U - Sean Paul ft. Alexis Jordan - 2042

5. Titanium - David Guetta ft. Sia - 1858

6. Don't Hold Your Breath - Nicole Scherzinger - 1803

7. Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) - The Wombats - 1561

8. How You Like Me Now - Alexis Jordan - 1516

9. Set Fire To The Rain - Adele - 1504

10. You Need Me - Ed Sheeran - 1456

11. Jar Of Hearts - Christina Perri - 1436

12. The A Team - Ed Sheeran - 1435

13. Alligator Sky - Owl City - 1388

14. Tonight's The Kind Of Night - Noah And The Whale - 1387

15. Paradise - Coldplay - 1375

16. Monster - Paramore - 1374

17. Lighters - Bad Meets Evil ft. Bruno Mars - 1369

18. Changed The Way You Kiss Me - Example - 1318

19. Happiness - Alexis Jordan - 1306

20. Radio - Alesha Dixon - 1264

So the top 6 is the same, except in a different order, with Titanium down at #5, due to being released later (also The One That Got Away, Princess Of China and other late releases suffer that way), and that was the clincher in the decision to do it on personal opinion. Tokyo, Happiness and Radio are long-running leftovers from last year, so I decided they weren't eligible for this years chart. The next 3 down would have been We Found Love, Karma Karma and All Of The Lights. How You Like Me Now up there is a testament to how long it spent in my chart without ever going top 15, so that's why it's up in my top 25.

11. Adele - Set Fire To The Rain

Great to see this end 2011 as Adele's biggest hit in your chart. Adele pretty much dominated my chart in 2011 with three chart toppers plus '21' is an excellent album which deserved to be such a monster seller all over the world.

Set Fire To The Rain was always my favourite from '21'. I think it's a rather good album, I suppose, but I'm not Adele's biggest fan, so it's possibly a bit of a surprise that Set Fire To The Rain ended up this high, but I do really love it.

Paradise's success still astounds me, especially after 6 weeks ineligibility, but it seems to be Coldplay's second singles that do it for them, whether its quality or success. The era seems to have been salvaged, which is really good for them. I'm surprised just quite how long it lasted in my chart.

21. Rihanna - We Found Love

Love it!!! This should've been used as Calvin Harris' comeback single. Rihanna just continues to produce the goods. I reckon if I did a chart counting down the most successful artists in my chart, I reckon Rihanna could potentially be my #1.

Oh good, Rihanna is about my favourite artist ever, so that's good to hear. I agree that it's a lot better than Feels So Close and even Bounce, it's one of the best club tracks I've heard this year, regardless of Rihanna's involvement, although she does help.

Musical epic indeed it is, one of my favourite tracks by Kanye, probably his most pop as well, but at least it spawned a hit from MBDTWF. The video is a bit suspect though, isn't it. :o

23. Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me

By far my favourite single by Example. It just clicked from the first listen - the bleepy synth melody at the start was a proper throwback to the dizzying heights of 90s Eurodance but still managing to be cool and avoid being crass or cheesey.

I think I may share your opinion on that. I liked but didn't love all of the singles from Won't Go Quietly, this was quite a different moment. At least it looks to be his most successful single for the future, that is nice. The rest of the singles from Playing In The Shadows sounded like they were trying to create an interesting moment, and just failed in the end. Changed The Way You Kiss Me is quite brilliant however.

No problem, I shall look forward to seeing them in your chart. Hopefully Kyla can be as successful as your previous entries there, it's quite brilliant.

I was surprised too, but in one case relieved, because when it finally took off and got to the top 10, I was really quite bored of it. There is such a thing as overplaying a track yourself. So my momentum had worn off it...

38. Ed Sheeran - The A Team

A promising debut single that led to a very successful year for Mr Sheeran. Whilst I preferred 'Lego House', I still think 'The A Team' is a great track and lyrically quite clever too.

I think You Need Me is even more lyrically clever. :magic: But yes, The A Team has some good, interesting lyrics that make it more than just another piano ballad.

Should have been the first single. -_- It's the best from Born This Way.

It's one of the best of this year's biggest hits, and one of the only club tracks to have not got ridiculously overplayed for me. I didn't expect to be putting so many big hits up this high, yet I did.

Yes, well, I thought I put Rolling In The Deep quite high, I clearly love it, I've ended up thinking that Someone Like You isn't as good, possibly through overplay. Rolling In The Deep has never suffered though, so I kept putting it higher and higher until it ended up at #66.

Both of them were great mid-year hits, I had grown a little tired of them in the end, though. They were incredible to me for several weeks; possibly mid-year tunes have been hurt the most by doing this via personal opinion, as I'm nostalgic to the earlier ones, and the ones around now I'm hyping quite a bit. But both of these I think were tunes. Beyonce is the kind of RnB I'd choose too.

I'm not a huge dubstep fan to be honest. That's partly what put me off Blind Faith at first. But I came round to it after getting 'No More Idols' (because I liked Time and End Credits is the best example of the genre ever for me). I do wish I'd joined in the hype now...

1. Yes, it does!! I'm currently quite excited about it rocketing up on iTunes (as it means I'd probably hear it out somewhere, which would be ALL KINDS OF AMAZING! Can I be justified with doing that? I think I can.

2. Happiness is also my favourite by a long way! :o It was #2 in my 2010 EoY chart (The bar was quite a bit higher that year, I'd say Titanium would slot in between my #3 and my #4 now)

16. Hopefully he'll have a few like this on his next effort, I get the feeling that he'll try to do at least some of this, maybe I'm just being optimistic though.

28. Well, I couldn't ignore my 5 weeks top 2 for it, and it's an incredible pop/dance song, so I hope it does well in TBO.

51. They don't! It's almost perfect for me, a rock/hip-hop crossover? I like the genres loads on their own and they don't interact that much, so I thought it was a perfect creation, shame few other people seem to think so.

67. It is flawless pop. I couldn't ignore it, ever since I checked it out. Another one I hope does well in TBO.

71. :( I really liked it, see my little paragraph above to C.W. It hasn't got the most emotion a ballad can have, but it has enough, and I thought it was a great winner, my best option and the one I was really hoping would take it, although Popular or I Can winning would have been fine as well.

76. It was quite hard to separate them in the end for me, my EoY chart is quite close, but Starlight gets the nudge for being slightly more epic.

Thanks Jay! :D

Well, at least you've heard it now. You haven't played it 100+ times either. I envy you, slightly.

I actually didn't listen to it that much when I first got the album. It grew on me upon becoming a single. And then I became obsessed. It was quite refreshing.

Oh, I will accommodate Melanie C when she fits in. I thought most of what I heard from The Sea was fairly good, although I never fawned over it, so I couldn't put it any higher.

Thanks Rich! :D

1. I couldn't agree more, I can't wait to hear it everywhere too!

2. I've really been getting back into Happiness recently! It was a #4 hit in my chart, I first heard it playing in the Co-op of all places and thought it was Wynter Gordon at first but eventually found out what it was and it debuted very high in my chart - then a couple of months later, after I'd forgotten about it, it smashed into the UK top three - surprised was an understatement :o Great dance song though, I can see why you like her so much and I hope that she doesn't just fade away...I know what you mean about the bar being higher, Moves Like Jagger would have been #3 in my 2010 equivalent, I certainly don't rank it above Satellite and All The Lovers.

16. I'm sure he'd like to, it's whether or not the record company let him :drama:

28/67. Well I was happy enough with how they both did  A lot of their main fans from the first time around didn't bother to vote in TBO but there we go, win some/lose some!

2. Wynter? Well, I suppose it's similar to her style, I only heard it when it debuted on the chart show and Alexis was in to talk about it, thought it was a nice song, loved the sound of Alexis far more, and then as it stuck around in the charts I loved it far more than everything else in the chart at the time. Then her album dropped and I really fell in love (it was about that time I joined Buzzjack too.)
