'Who You Are' is the brilliant debut album from the best newcomer of 2011, by a MILE for me, Jessie J. Looking above at her chart peaks inside my chart, it's astonishing to see how much she's had an impact on me over this past year and a little bit. The pressure is really on for her to find her "sound" and make it as strong as this album is, though. I have confidence she can do it, but whether she'll keep the success or go the same way as Natasha Bedingfield/Pixie Lott, will remain to be seen. (I personally think she'll be huge for a long time to come. But that's probably me just being biased)
January 9, 201213 yr I pretty much totally agree with you rate of Jessie's album :o exept I would give my 11 to I Need This.

'Femme Fatale' is the future of pop and it all kick started with that dub-steppy breakdown in lead single 'Hold It Against Me'. For my money, I'd definitely say this is one of her most cohesive and solid albums yet. 'Circus' (as much as I enjoyed it) was a little all over the place and she seemed to struggle to find back her sound. 'Blackout' is still my favourite Brit album, but I think this album is giving 'In the Zone' a very tough fight for the number 2 spot in my Britney Album affections! Solid pop songs that take pop to a whole new level.

At number 5 is a song that it going from strength to strength in my chart. It's well over a year old, but my GOD do I still love it. Really, really pleased she released the track which was always my favourite from 'Teenage Dream'. It's just a beautiful song, beautiful production and the video? I think it's my favourite video in a long time. Katy Perry seems to take a couple of weeks to peak but then after she's peaked, she seems to fall pretty fast in my chart, although this song has gone against that mould and is still sitting in my personal chart top 5!

Another Kelly Clarkson era has just begun. This time she is back with a vengeance and another Year end top 5! 'Mr. Know It All' is a mid-tempo, smooth pop song. It's basically another retread of 'Doesn't Mean Anything'/'Just the Way You Are', but my GOD does she deliver on it. It has Kelly's stamp all over it! She never fails to amaze me and this song shows she can do the mid tempo, RnB, pop ballads just as well as she can do those storming pop, rock numbers she is most well known for. 2012 is looking to be another big year for Kelly! (Even if it will only be in my chart aha).

They broke all viewing records for the show with a Britney tribute episode and then smashed that record with the post-Superbowl episode. How ever, it was the first year we got original songs! Glee, who are well known for their covers, got a hit or two of their own accords. 'Loser Like Me' led the pack and what an ANTHEM it has become for all Gleeks alike. It's a Max Martin production and it suited them down to the ground. And so it should have as most of their more successful hits were covers of Max Martin produced tracks. Incredible and catchy pop at it's best.
January 9, 201213 yr Boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, bass? :o Surprised to see Glee that high with that song although it's not bad, I haven't seen any of the current season. Loved the first season, the second was only ok so I haven't bothered since...lovely for Kelly, it's definitely been a fantastic era for her, I completely agree with your 'mature Breakaway' analysis!
January 9, 201213 yr Author This season has (ultimately) been a let down. They've been concentrating far too much on theatrical stuff and not as much about them or the pop hits that they're so famous for covering. There's a reason why 'Rumour Has It'/'Someone Like You' & 'We Are Young' are their biggest selling covers from this season. It's got a bit serious now and it's lost the charm and fun it used to have. :( As for your first sentence...

It's all killer and not much filler, imo. Such a fantastic album and it is definitely the thing I think she should be doing. It's just a shame she started with a song, which was going to do her NO favours in trying to gain some new fans/the "haters" who didn't like her through 'X Factor'. But it got everyone talking about her and got to number 1 on healthy sales. She does seem to have gained herself some new fans with the second single, 'With Ur Love' though. Let's hope that her 2nd album is more in the vein of the 2nd and 3rd singles as opposed to 'Swagger Jagger'.

She's only my favourite artist of all time, so it couldn't be anyone else really. Aha. 'Stronger' is an incredibly strong and consistent (even through the bonus tracks!) album from Ms. Clarkson. It's a mix of 'Breakaway' and 'My December' in the sound but the lyrics are on a similar level with 'My December', thus making it her maturest album, yet. Her voice is as brilliant as ever though. This is fast becoming one of my favourite albums ever. I'm not getting bored of it at all and I can see myself being obsessed with it for quite some time. CONGRATS KELLY.
January 9, 201213 yr Great #1, I reckon this album will have more success in my chart this year than it did last (where I sort of criminally ignored it a bit in the Xmas rush :drama:). Still it finished in my EOY top 20 just about and it could repeat the feat this year, just like Rihanna's Loud and Caro Emerald's album did! Swagger Jagger was #1 for AGES in your chart, and only an 8/10? :o Every song that ever spent 5+ weeks at #1 in my chart is in my top 100 of all time I think!

Even the bonus tracks feel like they're a part of the album and not just tacked on/recorded for the sake of making extra money or whatever. It did. I was well in the hype of it at the time. (It's still nowhere near as bad as people suggest it to be) But now I've got the album, it kinda pales in comparison to everything else on there. I only prefer it to 'Dub On the Track' at the moment. The novelty has sort of worn off on me I guess.

It's an incredible pop song, with an infectious hook, with production courtesy of none other than monster hit maker, Dr Luke. It's no wonder as to why I love it so much then. This has just about everything I want in a pop song and Jessie's vocals are on point. Especially when she does it live and I love the attitude she has in her songs and the way she puts them across in her performances. She does this weird stuttering thing and it's incredible. Hopefully she'll have an even bigger 2012 and future! She sure as hell deserves it.
