As if The Wanted going Top 30 officially wasn't shocking enough, One Direction being almost Top 10 on iTunes is amazingly unexpected. I much prefer The Wanted but any British talent making it big in the US is good by me.

Wow! Hats off to One Direction, this is seriously impressive stuff in such a short time!

I feel slightly sad for The Wanted in light of this... they're going to get completely overshadowed now, aren't they! Which is a shame, because TW have also done very respectably so far. Top 30 is nothing to sniff at. Hopefully there's enough room for both of the groups to succeed over there.

I wonder how JLS will feel about all this? Their own US attempt a couple of years ago was a failure, relatively speaking.

I think The Wanted will benefit from 1D's exposure, the media will start off a "battle of British boybands" and that will get them some publicity. Kind of like how All Saints rode on the Spice Girls' popularity in the US back in the 90s (granted, they wrerent' as popular as the SG). But yep, feel sorry for JLS! Even getting Dev didn't get them much exposure, and I think their time is winding down in the UK as the 3rd album sold about 1/3rd of the 1st.

Maybe they'll give it another shot soon after seeing The Wanted and One Direction's success?

 5. We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe) - Fun.

 6. Someone Like You - ADELE

Ah well, the three Adeles in a row was cool while it lasted :P I just hope to see all 3 in the H100 top 10 at least next week.

 8. Starships - Nicki Minaj

 9. Turn Up the Music - Chris Brown

 11. What Makes You Beautiful - One Direction

1D about to knock Coldplay out of the US iTunes top 10. What an odd event. (If Nicki, Chris and 1D all climb some more then Kelly is the next person on the top 10 hitlist, probably for Glee to knock out).

41. I Will Always Love You (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

Is it too much to ask for this to NOT go straight into the top 5? :(

Other Glee songs:

47. Stereo Hearts (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

66. Love Shack (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

73. Home (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

80. Let Me Love You (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

90. L-O-V-E (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

111. Cherish/Cherish (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

187. You're the Top (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

You're quite harsh with 'talent' here but overall I agree!

I kind of hope 'Glad You Came' will still be a bigger hit, as it's a much better song.

I am really rooting for 1D to do well over in the US, mainly just because this has come out of nowhere and is no unexpected, and I love some unpredictability in the charts, especially when its from a British artist that you never thought would break America in such a way.

Come out of nowhere apart from the whole 'being massive pretty much everywhere else it's been released' thing :P I've been saying ever since The Wanted broke through (which WAS out of nowhere) that What Makes You Beautiful would definitely be a big hit, it was a matter of how soon rather than if. It is however surpassing even my expectations by looking likely to go top 10 before it's even got any airplay.

35. I Will Always Love You (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

Has this episode not been aired yet or is this just not doing that well?

I knew 1D would big in the US, but this is just... WOAH :o Can't believe they're nearly top 10 having just been released with no airplay!
Its incredible that Adele had Rolling in the Deep #2, Set Fire To The Rain #3 and Someone Like You at #4 at one point. 3 songs off such a huge album top 5 on US iTunes by a British aritst, without a doubt another first! Amazing!

WOW, I know this is random but Selena Gomez - Love You Like A Love Song has done amazing with a peak of #22 on the USA Chart, Sold well over 1million and it's still #22 on iTunes, looking likely for a new peak!

32. Glee Cast - I Will Always Love You

Why are Glee doing so bad?

739. Miley Cyrus - Party In The Usa

861. Miley Cyrus - The Climb

202. Selena Gomez & Pixie Lott - We Own The Night  :cheer:

Adele 21 sold 242k this week! Its sales are going to be HUGE next week, HUGE.

No S*it Sherlock,.

I still can't believe LYLALS is still doing so well in the US. The song came out 8 months ago! Amazing for Selena. Hit the Lights needs more airplay!

Digital Songs top 10:

1 [22] fun. feat. Janelle Monáe - We Are Young 296k (up 338%)

2 [1] Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) 260k (up 10%)

3 [*] Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You 195k (up 6,724%)

4 [2] Adele - Set Fire To The Rain 187k (up 14%)

5 [9] LMFAO - Sexy And I Know It 170k (up 53%)

6 [7] Madonna feat. Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. - Give Me All Your Luvin' 165k (up 44%)

7 [4] Tyga - Rack City 139k (up <1%)

8 [3] David Guetta feat. Nicki Minaj - Turn Me On 139k (down 6%)

9 [23] Adele - Someone Like You 128k (up 91%)

10 [39] Adele - Rolling In The Deep 126k (up 174%)

That could not look ANY more different to the current iTunes top 10

109k sales gap between We Are Young and Set Fire To The Rain won't be enough for fun. to clinch the #1 as their airplay is practically nonexistent (142m gap on the BuzzJack airplay update). 73k gap between Kelly and Adele however will almost certainly be enough for Kelly to stay #1, as the airplay gap on BuzzJack is only 63m - ah well, Adele might get back there next week, or maybe not if Katy's sales are as massive as they could be based on her lead over fun. and Kelly at the moment.

Wasn't expecting to see Someone Like You and Rolling In The Deep sneaking into the top 10 for today's update :D We already knew about Whitney managing a #3 debut on essentially a day of sales but that's still incredibly impressive as well nonetheless.

Random tidbit about Adele's 3 entries, it's the first time such a thing has happened (with all 3 entries as the lead artist) since Michael Jackson's death :o As MJ was obviously unable to chart on the Hot 100 it'll be interesting then to see when the last time it happened on the H100 was, assuming all three Adele songs are in there next week.

I wonder how JLS will feel about all this? Their own US attempt a couple of years ago was a failure, relatively speaking.

I hear JLS are recording more urban material so they can try again. Unfortunately I can see them riding the 1D/Wanted hype and getting success. :(

Jls are slowly becoming less popular compared to The Wanted & One Direction. Obviously teenagers are going to love One Direction In USA (5 Justin Biebers)

10. Coldplay - Paradise 31.9%

11. One Direction - Don't Know Your Beautiful 28.3%

27. The Wanted - Glad You Came
