Infinitely better than Kelly Clarkson.

Other good H100 news: The Wanted up to #4, Gotye up to #9, Calvin up to #34. Oh and Starships has reached a new peak of #6.

Yay. :D Hopefully they can repeat that in the UK later in the year.

Now it's been to #1 sales & airplay can start dropping to give The Wanted a chance. :kink:

Wow! :o I didn't think it actually would - great news, though; and a nice change after the boring Adele/Kelly Clarkson turnover from the past couple of months. No doubt one of them will be back there next week anyway

Brilliant for Nicki and Gotye also :)

Oh great stuff for fun. :D Pleased to see The Wanted up to #4 as well of course.

Digital song sales extracted from the article ( http://www.billboard.com/news/fun-tastic-w...006389352.story ) -

#1 - 302,000 - fun. feat. Janelle Monae - We Are Young

#2 - 206,000 - The Wanted - Glad You Came

#3 - 197,000 - Kelly Clarkson - Stronger

#4 - 161,000 - Nicki Minaj - Starships

#5 - 148,000 - Gotye feat. Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know

#7 - 142,000 - Katy Perry - Part Of Me

I believe that means The Wanted have now sold 812,000 digital songs.

Amazing for fun. I think they'll actually be #1 for a very long time, until Gotye and Kimbra replace them.

There's no need to extract digital sales data from that article as the top 10 (and occasionally some others) is posted in the albums report. And then reposted on here by me :kink: I haven't posted the usual rundown so here it is now:

1 [1] fun. feat. Janelle Monáe - We Are Young 302k (up 4%)

2 [3] The Wanted - Glad You Came 206k (up 10%)

3 [2] Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) 197k (down 18%)

4 [7] Nicki Minaj - Starships 161k (up 4%)

5 [8] Gotye feat. Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know 149k (up 11%)

6 [5] Adele - Set Fire To The Rain 145k (down 13%)

7 [4] Katy Perry - Part Of Me 142k (down 24%)

8 [*] Far*East Movement feat. Justin Bieber - Live My Life 127k (NEW)

9 [12] Carrie Underwood - Good Girl 119k (up 11%)

10 [11] Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa feat. Bruno Mars - Young, Wild & Free 109k (down 3%)

In current iTunes new, Gotye is now up to #3 :cheer: Calvin up to #26 and #145 :w00t:

Drake's 'Take Care' has finally overtaken 'The Motto' (14 and 17 respectively). Really surprised 'Take Care' hasn't been a bigger hit so far :o

Adele update:

9 Set Fire To The Rain

24 Rolling In The Deep

31 Someone Like You

32 Rumour Has It

114 One And Only

178 Make You Feel My Love

Set Fire To The Rain looks like it's nearing the end of its top 10 run, but it has had 11 weeks there on the Hot 100 so far and should still stay there for a few more weeks while the previous 2 both managed 20, so considering the obvious handicap of existing album sales SFTTR had got pretty close to the longevity of its predecessors. Boo at Rumour Has It slipping back down below Someone Like You, but at least it's still sticking around in the top 40 since Smash and should hopefully soon start to properly pick up with its airplay. Hope One And Only did enough to scrape a Hot 100 placing tomorrow. Can't believe how well Make You Feel My Love has stuck around. Does it get used on loads of American TV shows?

100. I Can't Stop - Flux Pavilion

Jay-Z and Kanye sample or no Jay-Z and Kanye sample this is one of the last British names I'd ever expect to see in the US top 100. He's never even had a UK top 40 hit :o

I'm guessing this has only just been released as Watch The Throne came out ages ago.

More power to the Third British Invasion anyway :D!

Bloody hell! Saying that, in an environment where Skrillex is a real star I could see this and "Bass Cannon" doing quite well.

Random thought, the USA might finally be 'subjected' to a hit whose title uses a specifically British spelling of a word (Rumour Has It). The UK have had to put up with a few hits ommitting 'u's and changing 'ise' to 'ize' and whatnot :P

It actually annoys the hell out of me how Skrillex HAS to have his name on a dubstep song for it to gain any popularity here. Case in point, his awful remix of Promises is charting on iTunes... even though the original/album version of the song is far superior and way more radio/crossover friendly.

28. Coldplay - Paradise

41. Coldplay & Rihanna - Princess Of China

198. Coldplay - Viva La Vida

232. Coldplay - Fix You

237. Coldplay - Yellow

257. Coldplay - The Scientist

343. Coldplay - Clocks

520. Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

831. Coldplay - Charlie Brown

A Lot of Coldplay Songs are $0.69

I know their style of dubstep is quite different to the Skrillex/Flux Pavilion style but I wonder if Chase & Status could get a hit in the USA? They certainly have the connections to 'force' a breakthrough a la Calvin Harris, what with the work they've done with Rihanna.

Calvin: #25, #144, #462 - AMAZING how much he's risen recently

Ellie: #87, #244, #945

1D: #17 - Wow!

I remember Who Gon Stop Me went to #11 on US iTunes at one point, and that was without Skrillex being involved.
