Does anyone know what Jessie J's next single for the US is?

In the UK it's Laserlight, so they might go for it over there too I guess. Haven't heard anything official about the US though.

It irritates me to know that 'LaserLight' is the next single - it really fails in comparison to 'Repeat', which would've been the better of the two collaborations to release; but I guess as David Guetta is the lead artist for 'Repeat' it wouldn't count.

 

Either way, I would've even preferred 'My Shadow' - a more ballad-esque track to be released, not an overly generic 'club' song. We'll see how well it fares, I don't see it challenging the top 10 though on casual listening.

She flew up 9 places in a day and now is just frozen solid between 75 and 80. Although to be fair, I remember me and Umi were getting excited at the prospect of her breaking the top 100 a few weeks ago so we shouldn't moan.

Yeah. Its reminding me of E.T. and Rolling in the Deep's performance last year, so that bodes well for it being massive and in the year-end top 5 at least.

I've just found some EXCITING news however.

Ellie has sold 425,000 downloads of Lights :o She sold 21,000 this week and 20,000 the week before so she should hit gold in a few weeks! Who would have though Ellie Goulding would ever get a Gold Certified track in the US?

Wow that is great. Just shows how massive sales in the US are! Funny though, you've just reminded me of VV Brown's Shark In The Water being certified Platinum despite peaking at #68 and not hanging around very long (still no idea how that happened) and now Lights is at #68. If that never gets beyond #68 and scrapes Platinum it will be quite the coincidence! (Yes I stan VV Brown.)

I've seen both Gold and Platinum thrown around so much, at this point I don't believe one over the other! Last I heard was Platinum so I ran with that. Now that you say it, #67 rings a bell. I really should start fact-checking everything I say at some point.
