God 2006 no1s got better as the year went on...and what great sales for Crazy in the week it sold 194k...imagine how much it would have sold now...although maybe it sold loads because it was an oa/os release??

I'm pretty certain Crazy wasn't OA/OS at least in terms of charting, I'm sure I was hearing it for weeks before it first started its (MASSIVE) stint at #1... At least not in terms of charting as it could only chart for 1 week before the CD was released under the old rules...

The Top 3 were SO close the week Orson's No Tomorrow was #1!

5 copies between 2 and 3. Unbeleivable. :o

God, this year everyone went mad when we had a number one under 50k. Yes, its terrible, but just 5 years ago 29k was enough!

Thats right, zane lowe first played it in december 2005 i think!!

Correct...well done, thought no-one would get that!!

I would have done if I'd seen the thread in time - I have every download chart stored, thanks to ChartsPlus. :)

This was the first year I made a legal download :D I really wanted Scissor Sisters to be #1 the week of my 18th birthday so bought it on iTunes. I think my first illegal mp3 was Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' in 2002

The live version of 'Flying Without Wings' was released deliberately that week so Westlife could be the first ever download #1. It probably barely sold more than a few thousand.

Yes, downloads sold next to nothing when they first started. Westlife were number one with about 4k, and that was quite a high total.

4k would *still* be a pretty high total for a live version of a Westlife song
