Posted December 30, 201113 yr Here it is! :D I've compiled the chart using the points system from my weekly personal charts from this year. As you may know, my chart has been all over the place this year! :drama: It's changed size (top 40, 50 and 75), changed format (normal, playlist, normal + playlist, flexichart) and various weeks have been missed out across the year (meaning only 43 charts have been posted) all in the space of 12 months! I've only used the top 40 from each chart where possible to compile the chart so it's a bit inaccurate but it's the best I could do! Album tracks and songs which are from 2010 (ie. peaked in the UK charts in 2010) have been excluded. This means that the likes of What's My Name and Who's That Chick will feature, whereas Only Girl and Firework will not (even though they accumalated enough points to get into the chart). Here are a few teasers :D - The #1 has accumilated over 1000 points. - It is MILES ahead of #2 - The lowest amount of weeks a song has spent in my weekly chart to feature in the EOY chart is four. - Four of my BJSC entries will feature - There is one song which has made the top 10 of the EOY chart which didn't manage to get top 10 in my weekly charts! :o Begin the speculation! ^_^ Edited March 11, 201213 yr by Klumzee
December 30, 201113 yr - The #1 has accumilated over 1000 points. - It is MILES ahead of #2 Jennifer Lopez? :kink: Looking forward to this chart B-)
December 30, 201113 yr Author #100 - Alexis Jordan 'Good Girl' - 117 pts Chart Run: (20-39-x-39-32-31-19-19-25-28) (09 wks) oAKsClqcgDQ&ob=av2n Kicking off the countdown is the lovely Alexis Jordan! Was quite a slow burner for me, peaking in it's 6th of 9 weeks in my chart. Unfortunately this is no 'Happiness' and hasn't really stood the test of time since February :( #99 - Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera 'Moves Like Jagger' - 117 pts Chart Run: (29-17-22-32-18-19-33) (07 wks) iEPTlhBmwRg&ob=av2e The current #2 on the YTD chart of 2011 in the UK. Still surprised at how successful it has been! In the first week in charted with Wretch 32 and Emeli Sande, I don't think anyone could have predicted what was to come for MLJ, 7 weeks at #2! :o I guess we all under-estimated it's widespread appeal amongst the British public. I don't think I've ever loved it as much as other people and therefore it's low position in this chart. Very catchy song though which I still enjoy listening to (it's still in my chart today) and a welcome comeback for both Maroon 5 and Christina! #98 - DJ Fresh feat. Sian Evans 'Louder' - 117 pts Chart Run: (15-28-19-39-29-20-32-29) (08 wks) eE-dwpWpscU The amount of hype that build up for this before it's release was insane! My friends all loved it even before Buzzjack caught on to it, (which meant something unbelievable was going to happen! :kink:) It certainly proved us all right with opening sales of 140,750! :o Essentially overhype and overplay killed off my liking of Louder which is sad as it is a very good song which probably would've been higher in the chart otherwise. #97 - Noah & The Whale - L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. - 118 pts Chart Run: (33-35-36-22-25-9-9) (07 wks) mCHzicKq3W4&ob=av3e This song should be so much higher! :( The reason why it's chart run was suddenly cut off after eventually making it to the top 10 is because that was when I decided to change my chart into a playlist for 4 weeks and it didn't come out alive on the other side  THE feel good song of the year! And a massive grower too; it took a few weeks to even get into my chart, and took a while to get going once it was in there. Quite a surprising hit and a success story of the OA/OS scheme (I remember that week when it was released alongside 'Yeah 3x' and 'Animal' (three very good songs!). #96 - Britney Spears 'Criminal' - 119 pts Chart Run: (29-25-24-25-13-22-30) (07 wks) yrcUvj55cBs The first of four entries from Britters (or Flopney Spears now :( ) This single showed a change in direction from the previous 3 up-tempo club songs. Accompanied with a fantastic video (set in LAAANDAAAN :P) What could go wrong? Well everything really, it failed to chart in the top 100 in the UK and only #55 in the US. Another song that should've been higher, I think I 'kept it down' because it was flopping and didn't feel right to be charting it high (I know that doesn't make any sense )
December 30, 201113 yr Author Jennifer Lopez? :kink: Looking forward to this chart B-) You'll have to wait and see! :D
December 30, 201113 yr Author #95 - Ray Foxx feat. Lovelle 'La Musica (The Trumpeter)' - 119 pts Chart Run:(23-12-24-20-19-29) (06 wks) bjAT4stJQnU&ob=av2e Oozing in sassyness (is that even a word?) is the first entry which the majority probably won't know. Originally an instrumental by Ray Foxx (called 'The Trumpeter') he then asked Lovelle to put vocals on the track in hope that the track would become a hit. It didn't :( It probably would have done better if it had been released in the Summer (it got released 25th September) as it sounds perfect for the night atmosphere in a Latin country  #94 - Nicola Roberts 'Beat Of My Drum' - 119 pts Chart Run: (10-24-32-x-22-19-34-27) (07 wks) n_BG3n1q5KU&ob=av2e The first of two entries for Nicola Roberts in this countdown (even though I prefer this to Lucky Day ) is the track I always think of as 'Run The World (Girls)'s younger sister. Beat Of My Drum limped in at #27 to the official charts, but was much more of a hit here! I was SO excited to hear this when I heard Diplo and Switch were producing the track! Definitely wasn't disappointed! I suppose it was a bit front-loaded with it's initial chart run, but it re-entered to gain a more respectable run in my chart. YOUNG, FUN & FABULOUS! :D #93 - Milk & Sugar vs. Vaya Con Dios 'Hey (Nah Neh Nah)' - 123 pts Chart Run: (3-6-14-18) (04 wks) wfTkeSnSX2w In vain of 'We No Speak Americano' (which I loved!) I thought this was certain to be a hit, I remember it being around the 90's on UK iTunes but it never climbed any higher :( I think that's why it had such a short chart run as it flopped pretty hard. Still only 4 weeks on the weekly chart was enough to get it on to the EOY countdown! #92 - Unicorn Kid feat. Talk To Animals - True Love Fantasy - 130 pts Chart Run: (7-12-23-11-22) (05 wks) d37XJYJP9IY The first (and latest) of my BJSC entries in the EOY chart it's still going strong in my chart and therefore has a rather short chart run up until now. Loved this on first listen and it was on repeat for days, I had already got slightly tired of it by the time I compiled my weekly chart, hence the entry at #7, a few days before that though, it would've easily been #1 (and probably had a very front-loaded chart run :( ) it has stabilised though and I am still enjoying something that it is way out of my usual taste in music. #91 - Avril Lavigne 'What The Hell' - 135 pts Chart Run: (26-26-18-39-38-38-21-30-x-27-27-37-30) (12 wks) tQmEd_UeeIk&ob=av2e After originally thinking this was a bit of a shit comeback for Avril, I grew to accept that it wasn't trying to be anything 'different' and all it was a fun pop-rock song, it actually had quite a good chart run for it's peak. The rest of the singles from this era haven't lived up to What The Hell (I haven't charted any of the rest). Didn't this get quite a bizarre performance on Britain's Got Talent months after it had died down?
December 30, 201113 yr - The #1 has accumilated over 1000 points. - It is MILES ahead of #2 Lana Del Rey - Video Games :D
December 30, 201113 yr - There is one song which has made the top 10 of the EOY chart which didn't manage to get top 10 in my weekly charts! :o Good that I'm not alone, I've got a song that missed top 10 in my EOY top 20 :o Number 1 in this chart is the most blatantly obvious thing like ever
December 30, 201113 yr Author Lana Del Rey - Video Games :D It does feature very high in this chart, but could it's appearance later on in the year affect it's chance at #1? :o It's still doing very well in my weekly chart. Good that I'm not alone, I've got a song that missed top 10 in my EOY top 20 :o Number 1 in this chart is the most blatantly obvious thing like ever  Mines quite an extreme example  Especially with the fact that my chart is based only on chart positions (it had AMAZING longevity though!) O RLY? :P
January 1, 201213 yr Author #90 - Chipmunk feat. Chris Brown 'Champion' - 136 pts Chart Run: (32-27-17-14-17-23-27-35) (08 wks) tlnMVb2XVVk&ob=av2e A song that I wasn't too impressed with at first, but the anthemic chorus soon changed my opinion of 'Champion'! I have to say I'm not too keen on it nowadays again, but it was good at the time and got a respectable chart run. I have to say it really should be Chris Brown feat. Chipmunk as he seems to be doing most of the work! #89 - Snoop Dogg vs. David Guetta 'Sweat' - 136 pts Chart Run: (15-13-x-14-17-29-29-34) (07 wks) KnEXrbAQyIo&ob=av2e Another song that fell foul to the change to the playlist (hence the dropout after it's 2nd week) I'd imagine it'd be alot higher in this countdown seeing as it re-entered at #14, so it probably would've been pretty stable during those 4 weeks. Despite all this I feel it's a fair place on the countdown as I don't like it anywhere near as much as I did when it was charting. Sounds so generic! #88 - Alex Gaudino feat. Kelly Rowland 'What A Feeling' - 137 pts Chart Run: (27-30-23-20-17-19-27-37-32) (09 wks) 3iKVwtJJU4c Symmetrical chart run! In didn't feel like a grower, but it must've been! Peaking in the middle week of it's chart run, Kelly Rowland sounds great on a dance track and this wasn't an exception. Shame it dropped so quickly out of the UK charts, but #6 was a good peak for it :D #87 - JLS feat. Tinie Tempah - Eyes Wide Shut - 143 pts Chart Run: (19-16-19-16-19-21-34) (07 wks) qJcBWDCBldY&ob=av2e Now for a yo-yo chart run! This is probably my 2nd favourite of their songs (behind She Makes Me Wanna) It's probably because it completely rips-off I'm Not Alone (which I love!) that I'm such a big fan of it! It's shame this only peaked at #8 when songs like The Club Is Alive and Everybody In Love can get to #1 :( #86 - Calvin Harris feat. Kelis 'Bounce' - 144 pts Chart Run: (16-19-23-28-20-26-34-38-30-32) (10 wks) ooZwmeUfuXg I think I want to like this more than I actually do! I love pretty much all of Calvin Harris' work and Kelis is great now she's moved into dance music, so this was a very interesting collabaration! The instrumental is lush too!
January 1, 201213 yr Author #85 - Swedish House Mafia 'Save The World' - 144 pts Chart Run: (7-14-21-13-30-39-29-x-31) (08 wks) BXpdmKELE1k&ob=av3e I almost forgot about this track! Alot 'lighter' and 'fluffier' than the previous two singles, it has an anthemic chorus to die for and the music video is fantastic (I highly recommend you watch it (again). Love the dogs in it!  I'm not sure who the uncredited vocalist is though. I think this got the same peak in my chart as it did in the UK chart? I can't remember as it is pretty forgetable  Still love it! #84 - Nicki Minaj 'Super Bass' - 145 pts Chart Run: (14-19-17-18-24-35-40-37-36-x-38-x-39-x-32) (12 wks) 4JipHEz53sU&ob=av2e Love the chart run at the end of this! It hung around for a long time and kept hopping in and out of the top 40 which gives it it's unusual chart run. Looking back on it, this probably should've done much better as I really like this! Probably would've made the top 50 if it was purely based on my opinion. I have to admit I prefer the 'angrier' Nicki to the one in Super Bass, but it's still a very good track as I love everything she does! #83 - Adele 'Set Fire To The Rain' - 148 pts Chart Run: (4-8-11-x-37-39-26-34-x-31-x-31) (09 wks) FlsBObg-1BQ Where are you music video?! :( The video I've posted is just a lyrics video, but it's got over 85 million views, so it CLEARLY needs one! Overplay absolutely murdered this for me unfortunately, it's a very good song, but the chart run goes to show how it tired on me so quickly. I can now listen to it and I feel that #4 was the right peak for it, but the chart run should be much better! #82 - The Saturdays - Notorious - 148 pts Chart Run: (4-4-4-27-32-x-30-38) (07 wks) d-OBAXHfgqE&ob=av2e One of the oddest chart runs you'll see in the countdown! I loved it at first, but it tired on me very quickly and sounds pretty cheap now. I much prefer All Fired Up now (which appears later in the countdown) but this has the higher peak. Those first three weeks is pretty much the only reason why Notorious is in the countdown! It's not been a particularly good era for The Saturdays, but I'm pretty sure they won't get dropped seeing as they still got two top 10 hits from On Your Radar and their still in favour with the media. Probably just the mad loons despairing at how they weren't having multiple week #1s :kink: #81 - Enrique Iglesias feat. Pitbull 'I Like How It Feels' - 149 pts Chart Run: (3-3-4-26-20) (05 wks) klk8QPcfFYQ Very similar situation to Notorious, I only really liked it for all of 3 weeks and I'm not a fan of it anymore. Did this get released in the UK, or did it just flop really badly without anyone noticing? Generic, generic, generic
January 1, 201213 yr Author AAAAH! :drama: I just wrote out 80-76 but it all disappeared when I posted it! I won't write out the commentary but I'll post the chart runs and videos for the 5 songs. Edited January 1, 201213 yr by Klumzee
January 1, 201213 yr Notorious really is underwhelming - in fact it's not much lower here than it was my EOY chart and your not a fan at all! SFTTR is FAR too low, absolutely epic  Same for Super Bass!
January 1, 201213 yr Author Notorious really is underwhelming - in fact it's not much lower here than it was my EOY chart and your not a fan at all! SFTTR is FAR too low, absolutely epic  Same for Super Bass! I know! It's purely based on the points system in my chart, so my opinions on each song vary quite dramatically
January 1, 201213 yr Author #80 - Bruno Mars 'Marry You' - 150 pts Chart Run: (26-16-23-20-34-x-11-11-x-40-38) (09 wks) OMr9zCvtOfY #79 - Lady GaGa 'You & I' - 151 pts Chart Run: (37-39-17-24-15-20-15-16-35) (09 wks) X9YMU0WeBwU&ob=av2e #78 - Wanessa feat. Bam Bam 'Sticky Dough' - 151 pts Chart Run: (1-3-4-5) (04 wks) F4rRHhpvgMM&ob=av2e #77 - Chase & Status feat. Liam Bailey - Blind Faith - 155 pts Chart Run: (18-20-24-17-13-18-31-32) (08 wks) PcVYBxHEry0 #76 - Sean Paul feat. Alexis Jordan 'Got 2 Luv U' - 156 pts Chart Run: (32-18-12-17-11-27-20-35) (08 wks) tDq3fNew1rU&ob=av2e
January 2, 201213 yr Author #75 - Natalia Kills feat. will.i.am. 'Free' - 159 pts Chart Run: (13-12-13-21-x-32-x-18-19) (07 wks) 0K2r5mmktLc Although it sounds quite similar to Price Tag, they're literally sending out the complete opposite messages! Jessie J tells us 'it's not about the money (money, money), whereas Natalia rolls around in box filling up with dollar bills  So materialistic! I love the Wuthering Heights sample in this and will.i.am sounds pretty good too, although he doesn't really add much. It does contain one of my favourite lyrics of the year 'I could look fresh in a potato sack' This sadly never took off in the UK. She must be the unluckiest woman in music as all of her music is just like the music doing well in the charts! Poor Natalia :( #74 - Aura Dione 'Geronimo' - 159 pts Chart Run: (3-9-15-30-12-18) (06 wks) O-01ptjhLAE Now for the 2nd highest of my BJSC entries in my EOY chart, this is my most successful entry to date, finishing 2nd in XXXIL (is that right?) just losing out to Hendinia's 'Raining Diamonds'. I have to admit this isn't my favourite of my entries, but I am rather fond of it for doing so well :kink: It's still charting, so it will definitely rack up a few more points. And for all the chart geeks out there, Geronimo has only charted at a position which is a multiple of three for all it's 6 weeks! How exciting! :D However it charted at #14 in my latest chart which kinda ruined it all :( #73/b] - Jessie J 'Domino' - 160 pts Chart Run: (6-11-21-18-18-28-27-x-39) (08 wks) UJtB55MaoD0&ob=av2e This is only just taking off, but it still did fairly well in my chart in 2011 off the back of it's single release in the US. Domino is a return to form for Jessie; Nobody's Perfect, Who's Laughing Now? and Who You Are didn't have the same spark as Do It Like A Dude and Price Tag. It may be a bit generic (blame Dr. Luke) but it's still a great pop song which I'm almost certain will feature in my 2012 countdown! #72 - Katy Perry feat. Kanye West - E.T. - 163 pts Chart Run: (15-33-36-x-34-37-34-x-32-21-x-22-23-27-30-36-35) (18 wks) t5Sd5c4o9UM&ob=av2e A very brave single choice from Katy Perry for the 4th single of her sophomore album Teenage Dream. There's literally nothing else out there like it! It had a very long chart run for me and kept hopping in and out of the top 40 which could of meant it had even longer there! I've grown to appreciate it more over time and probably should be higher than this. I love the music video for this, which I'm sure was a big part of it reaching #1 in the US (and being the biggest single of the era) and #3 in the UK. I don't actually mind Kanye's rap at the beginning, but he kinda ruins the fantastic middle 8 :( #71 - Azealia Banks feat. Lazy Jay '212' - 170 pts Chart Run: (9-15-13-13-13-35-19) (07 wks) i3Jv9fNPjgk I can't understand most of what she's saying, but I love it! She's tipped for big success in 2012, I hope she does make it but I have this inkling that she won't. I could never imagine something like 212 being played on the radio  It's done well to reach the EOY chart with such a consistant (apart from one blip) chart run. It's funky, hip, sweary and has got MAJAH swag  Edited January 2, 201213 yr by Klumzee
January 2, 201213 yr Only FOUR of your BJSC entries in the Top 100?! JUST IN COMPARISON, 8 of mine made the Top 103, plus I entered a song from 2010 chart, and only one missed Top 201 entirely. :D
January 2, 201213 yr Author Only FOUR of your BJSC entries in the Top 100?! JUST IN COMPARISON, 8 of mine made the Top 103, plus I entered a song from 2010 chart, and only one missed Top 201 entirely. :D Oops sorry people! Just realised I have a 5th BJSC entry in my chart, so there are two more still to come!
January 2, 201213 yr Author #70 - Blue 'I Can' - 170 pts Chart Run: (10-6-x-1-7-20-32) (06 wks) hPuDbaOBDsc EUROVISION! :w00t: This is the only entry you'll find in the countdown as I decided to exclude all the other countries' entries as I'm xenophobic I didn't want my chart to be 'cluttered' when Eurovision was on  I suppose I just felt really patriotic for that one week when it reached #1 (and when it looked like we still had a chance of winning it). It's been our best entry since I've been watching Eurovision (began in 2007) and it deserved so much more than 11th place. :( #69 - Nero 'Promises' - 171 pts Chart Run: (8-16-21-30-24-4-30-x-37-x-27) (08 wks) llDikI2hTtk&ob=av2e This really really doesn't deserve the title of 'biggest non #1' at all! Granted it probably didn't deserve #1 in the first place (top 5 at best) but no way did it deserve to have the chart run it did! The first 'proper' dubstep #1 (Louder was only a tiny bit really). Not sure why it suddenly leaped to #4 before falling back down the chart again, but it got a deserved peak because of it! #68 - Nicola Roberts 'Lucky Day' - 172 pts Chart Run: (11-15-12-12-16-32-26-39-39-36) (10 wks) HN39CQW3Tqw&ob=av2e The chart run feels like it should have accumilated more points than it did, but anyway  Entry #2 of 2 for Nicola in the countdown, lovely lovely pop song which should have done so much better in the UK charts (#40 :( ) The video is pretty awesome too, from the unusual dress combination of tie-dye dress that barely reaches the knickers, teamed with a pair of high tops, to the dancing sperm on the wall, to wacking out random dance moves while walking down the street! It's such a sweet, undeniably cute song! #67 - Rihanna feat. Drake - What's My Name - 177 pts Chart Run: (13-15-15-14-11-19-27-37) (08 wks) U0CGsw6h60k&ob=av2e Despite most of it's chart run being in 2010 (and peaking at #3 during that time) it did peak at #1 on the UK charts during 2011, so it ends up here with a slightly odd looking chart run. A bit overrated imo, What's My Name is still a pretty good pop/RnB crossover hit which appealed to almost everyone, it had a pretty stable chart run in 2011 and therefore making the EOY chart! #66 - Havana Brown 'We Run The Night' - 178 pts Chart Run: (15-12-11-15-14-22-30-31) (08 wks) m6clTZXmzMA THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY  (which will appear later!) Another BJSC song, but this time sent by UnoShake to XXXV, I was torn in between sending this and 'We Love', but opted for Sneaky Sound System. This finished 2nd in the contest, whereas We Love only managed 20th and only made #147 on the EOY chart. So all in all I really should've gone for this! This does have a shockingly similar chart run to What's My Name, 5 weeks bobbling around in the top 15, both peaked at #11 then fell for 3 weeks before leaving the chart. And they are next to each other in the countdown! :o Scary stuff! Back to the actual song, and not it's chart run, it reminds me a bit of what I'm planning to enter to the next contest held in Greenfroze... :D
