We'd have lost 6-0 against a better team if we'd performed like we did yesterday

Awful, just awful. Spoiled what was otherwise a cracking day out.

Carlisle are at the top of their table after 3 games on goal difference. Think I will keep the paper containing the table for a while.

I'm old enough to remember when Carlisle were top of the old first division (now the Premier League) after three games

Big win last night for City, said to my mate in the pub after it finished that City are gonna win the league. I thought the 3 in midfield (Toure, Barry and De Jong) would be too defensive, but it seemed to work last night, with Barry and Toure both getting forward a fair bit.
City are NOT going to win the league. Even last night they didn't look a completley convincing team, Liverpool were just dire.

To be honest, Liverpool were just awful last night. Hodgson got his tactics all wrong...4-4-2 against 4-3-2-1 away from home was just suicide. They just caught us on the counterattack every time Gerrard got forward to support the attack, so Milner and Johnson ran down the wings and Barry and Toure supported Tevez in attack. They looked good last night, because Liverpool allowed them to play to their absolute best. Man City's defence is absolute shocking. If Liverpool have a right winger, they'd have torn Lescott to pieces last night. If Hart didn't make those three excelent saves in quick sucession from Gerrard, N'Gog and Torres then I might have fancided Liverpool to sneak a draw...

Yeah Liverpool should have punished Man City last night for playing Lescott at left back, but it didn't happen. I can only see City getting stronger though, when Kolarov and Boateng are fit they will both come in and strengthen the defence. Confidence will be sky high atm, they've played two of the best teams in the league so far, got 4 points and kept 2 clean sheets, with Joe Hart on top form. He did the business for Birmingham last season, can only see him being even stronger this season in a better team.

Really hope Shitty don't win the league, but then the most likely contenders to win it atm are all teams I can't stand so I don't care either way.

Sunderland are going to struggle this season, especially if Bruce fails to replace Jones before the window closes. Ughhhhhhhhhhhh

Carlisle are still near the top of the table after a game of two halves last night. Fair result there.

Rather surprised at the Spurs result though.

Buzzing.

That is all.

  • 2 weeks later...

Defoe out for 3 months, Walcott out for a few weeks and Kuyt injured for a month.

Internationals suck.

Darren Bent ftw! Or once Zamora is back put Rooney back to the main striker role.

Looks like Rio will be back on the bench tomorrow ^_^ , personally I think Gerrard has done a good job as England captain so I wonder if he's gonna get it back?

I don't think Gerrard will still be captain once Ferdinand's back. Although since he's been made captain he's arguably played some of his best football in an England shirt. Which is odd really, as I don't think he's a great captain for Liverpool!

un fukkin believeable, we send 2 players to England duty and both will not kick a ball this side of xmas, fukkin pisstake

Our season is basically over thanks to fukkin England

Istanbul 2005? A clear example of a captain motivating his team.

I haven't been so angry about football in a long time, that was awful.
Carlisle won against one of the favourites to go up. :w00t: Not sure when I will be back down to Earth after this.
Peterborough really need to stop giving teams 0-2 leads at home, got away with it twice, but i'm sure it won't continue to happen if we keep playing so poorly in first halves though. Top of the league though after 6 games, the league is looking very inconsistent, Posh have lost twice so far yet sit top

Forest haven't won after 5 games and there's still 7 teams lower than we are!! Was shocked when I looked at the table. Absolutely fantastic performance from us today, the Millwall keeper had an absolute blinder.

Burnley - Preston game on BBC2 was an absolute cracker. Burnley would 4-3, were 3-1 down with 10 minutes to go. Not a good scoreline for the Ferguson family!!
