Woo, Adele over 150 million :cheer: Another great update for Calvin as well. Also good to finally see fun. being tracked - ridiculously low airplay for a song that shifted nearly 300k downloads last week :o Gotye's airplay is also pretty low but not as low as I thought it was for some reason, I guess because it wasn't being tracked until recently. Hopefully both will build up a lot of airplay soon.

Happy for Calvin and that ain't a a bad increase for The Wanted as well.... "Glad you came" seems to be holding well on the iTunes top 20 so another climb is guaranteed this week, hopefully into the top 20. Will be interesting to see if Adele's SFTTR reclaims #1 from Kelly or not. What's with the poor airplay for fun.? You would think a song doing so well on iTunes would get more than decimal updates!

SFTTR won't be #1, it'll probably drop to #3 (with Katy Perry and Whitney Houston having high enough sales to take the top 2 drspite lowish airplay) with Kelly dropping to #4 behind it. Might be #1 again next week though as Katy's lead lets up.

Calvin's airplay is odd. Even if he was featured on a massive RiRi single you wouldn't expect him to be rising so fast, especially when he's not doing that well on iTunes yet. That said I did think he would have to be getting good airplay to be #90 on the Hot 100 so I'm not shocked to see him past 10 million already.

:( @ the Gotye increases. It's doing remarkably well for a song with such low airplay. But by the time pop stations catch on to it, the sales would've started slipping. Yay for Adele, although with Katy's sales' lead and Kelly Clarkson catching up on her on on airplay, I doubt Adele will reclaim #1 again, and if so, a week at max.

Given her age and current status it's not that bad. Her most recent top ten airplay hit came in 2001 when Don't Tell Me reached #10.

 

Nobody expected GMAYL to be near top 10 and even top 20 would've required some support from Urban stations, something she'd never get.
