Because your comment was not an opinion, nor criticism, just an unneccessary negative, offensive comment about a list that is not accurate but the member had work with it. Why is it tolerable? Because sometimes others do the same? How would you feel if you have work with a list you want to share with people, and then you receive such comments?

We tell everyone if unneccessary comments are being made, You're not an exception.

As for the list, smiffj, use this thread, it has al lthe neccessary sales data that are missing:

Thank You, I have updated the list using those figures.

This is far from correct. Ellie Goulding has sold nearly 700k for your song and she's no where on this list...

Any Exact Figure

Bad Romance was reported to be over 900,000 at one point during 2011.

Any Exact Figure for bad romance.

I'm surprised Will Young's Light My Fire and Leave Right Now are not in the top 100?

LRN is probably not far outside the top 100. Last sales we have are 548,000 a few yers back.

Light My Fire has only sold around 372k.

Single sales have hugely increased since the download era so it's a great achievement that Will's record sales for Evergreen still stands.

Katy Perry has done over 700k for firework & california girls. Cee Lo Green f*** you - im sure this has done over 800k.

Thanks, do you know how many years ago, I suspect LRN has continued to trickle sale pretty steadily over the years. I think sales were physical only in the LRN era too, but can't remember now?

I'm sure you could ask Vidcapper for some sales of the more recent songs also, he can give you very accurate estimates.

Thought it might be interesting as the last 2 years have been so big to combine them with the previous 10 based on the stats that are posted on the site. Please do point out the many glaring errors omissions here as I just cobbled it together, while trying to avoid work!

oooops! just noticed someone else did the same thing a bit before me!!! Please ignore this thread!
.....please excuse me not noticing your thread and posting my own version! Many thanks for the (more accurate) figures than I had that I can now update from (if one of the mod guys could delete my thread, that would be great thanks!!)
Some of the figures here are more up-to-date than the other list. Like you've got the correct total for I Gotta Feeling which places it at #3, whilst the other one has an out of date figure for it.
Thanks, do you know how many years ago, I suspect LRN has continued to trickle sale pretty steadily over the years. I think sales were physical only in the LRN era too, but can't remember now?

The last date I can find is early December 2009 when sales stood at 539, 500. Can't remember when it reached the figure of 548,000.

Wow that must have taken some work thanks :) Am I the only one depressed to look at the top of the chart though and see Gareth Gates, Black Eyed Peas and Shaggy in the Top 5! Not a good respresentation of the century!
