I'm very much looking forward to listening to these, I've only heard of 5/27 so far so it's either a promising selection or I'm finally showing my age and getting hopelessly out of touch. :D

Although not strictly against the rules, I do hope no-one's thinking of sending new Sleigh Bells. Without wanting to spread the whole "cheap" debate to UP, it does go against the spirit of "unknown" pleasures!

There's not a chance that I would accept it anyway. Any act that has been widely discussed (to my knowledge) on Buzzjack would be against the spirit of the contest and fall foul of rule 10.

 

Entered, changed my entry as I didn't like either of the original two enough on reflection. I didn't have an mp3 though, but I'll keep looking.

Would you be willing to cap this at 40 entries or does that seem too many for Unknown Pleasures? I'm quite surprised at what appears to be an overwhelming demand for one of these song competitions. :D

You're right, we did. Aside from Triangles' edition which had 31.

 

I wasn't expecting it to fill up quite this quickly tbh, feel bad for the likes of Severin and Chris who are regulars but probably haven't noticed the thread. Ah well.

I personally think 40 is too many. That's why BJSC got rid of the one big final and started having semis which I do not want to see here. In the range of 30-32 is a nice enough number seeing as it has always been first come first serve. Also non-participating countries can still vote if they want to.

I agree in principle so I guess I'll have to declare the confirmation process CLOSED.

 

Apologies to anyone who hasn't had chance to submit something, hopefully you'll still be inclined to vote once the mp3 packs are made up.

 

Much love to the 33 (yes the number was STILL going up!) who submitted track choices so quickly, there's a couple who still need to send the mp3 links so I'll still aim to begin the song reveal/voting thread this Sunday.

I'm not particularly happy with mine either, I do like the track but it's a bit generic in retrospect.

I agree that is should be closed. I'm not trying to be harsh but there will always be future UPs - let's hope it doesn't turn into a competition where Dandy* (or whoever) gets 40-something emails as soon as he opens the thread. :lol:
