I don't know whether hits would have entered Soldier here as well, doesn't necessarily seem like his style.

Won't be receiving any votes from me though as it is NOT an unknown pleasure to me

Somebody entering a 35 year old track by Tommy Seebach :D

I doubt anybody knows of my entrant this time.

I know five of the bands, but I haven't heard any of the actual songs! This should be good. :)

Argh. It appears as though I've included the wrong version of the Tommy Seebach track as I've used the original instead of the Kitsuné Remix, apologies to the sender.
The mp3 tags are BEAUTIFUL. I've only had to move a featuring artist from the artist to the track title, but that's merely my own preference, thankyou Dandy*!

Haha, you're welcome. Glad there's someone else who's just as anal about them as I am. :D

If we're talking about tagging on iTunes, I am as well!

I can spend half an hour just correcting titles and artist tags. Titles must be "xxx (featuring xxx)", not feat. or that awful ft.

There can be only one name on the Artist field. However, if it's a duet (like "Say Say Say") it's xx & yy. Like Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson.

For example, for Live Your Life by T.I. featuring Rihanna, only T.I. gets the artist tag.

There's a huge difference between duets and featurings.

'(feat. xxx)' all the way!

Also, I hate if there are brackets that are not (). [] can just go to hell.

I hate the way that the feat. bit has now become part of the track's name and not the artist's name.

Sorry Chris, it just filled up pretty much as soon as it opened. I was going to send reminder PMs halfway through the week but by then we were already over 30 entrants.

I can send you the links if you still want to join in?

ah I didn't realised it was full rather than short deadline. I'm just pissed because I have an amazing track. AMAZING. I might join in but I have a big backlog of stuff to listen to right now, so I'll send you a PM if I do want the links.

Same. I know I'm the opposite to almost everybody else on here (maybe because I've never used Last.fm so am not that at all bothered where play counts go) but I tag everything on my iTunes with the artists being of equal importance regardless of whether it's a duet or a feature, it's all instrumental to my enjoyment of the song. For example I have David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium as opposed to David Guetta - Titanium (feat Sia). Were it not for Sia, I wouldn't be listening, I'm more likely to scroll through my artists and stop at David Guetta feat Sia than I am at just David Guetta, it just helps me to distinguish great collaborations from average solo efforts.

True, but on Last.fm for example you can't keep on track of who's popular if the featuring artist is part of the artist name. (EDIT: ahh, gooddelta already shared his side of the story)

On charts, of course, it should be Katy Perry featuring Kanye West - E.T.

Brackets are difficult.. How to put it when song has brackets AND a featuring artist? Like "Dedication to My Ex (Miss That)". Then I don't usually mention the featuring acts at all to avoid the hideous "... (Miss That) [featuring André 3000 & Lil Wayne]"

because it's of course IMPOSSIBLE to put () ().. Even a thought of that makes me sick :D

"... (Miss That) (featuring André 3000 & Lil Wayne) (xxx Remix)" :D

[ ] need to DIE, they are awful.

I don't like things like 4 Minutes (Feat. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland) (Remix) very much either, but it would be infinitely worse with square brackets. Even before I used last.fm I put the featured act in the track name though, it just looks tidier and if its an album track and I have it on my iPod it won't play as part of the album if I just go into the artist selection. AWKWARD.

It should if you fill in the 'album artist' box in the track info section!

Too late to join in :(

This is what happens when you are busy

ft. is awful. (feat. <>) looks so much better. And in the track section for scrobbling purposes please! Also, I absolutely cannot have (Feat.), (feat. must be lower case as it's a not a proper noun. The same goes for (live).

Artist - Song Title (Bracketed Part) (feat. Other Artist) (Artist cover) (live)

Boobs?

Memories of messing with calculators in year 7 returning.
