What a horrendous top 2!!! :puke:

I think this Guetta/Gotye combination is the best top 2 since 'We Found Love'/'Moves Like Jagger' took the #1 and #2 position a few months ago.

Come to think of it, they finished at #4/#1 respectively in my End of Year chart so perhaps it's a bit hasty calling this the best top two in years  It's the best top two in three months!

For me it's the best top 2 since last week, as it will be for anybody who prefers Twilight to Somebody That I Used to Know.

Strange, strange people.

I do like Somebody That I Used to Know though. It's extremely catchy, so it's fun to litsen to, and it's nice to hear something creative do well in the chart, especially after quite a dreadful 2011 that was dominated by dozens of songs that sound the same as International Love. I like Alone Again, Mama Do the Hump and Born to Die aswell, so if those could be the top 5, I would be happy.

I can't believe I Got 5 On It is #69. I know absolutely nobody else cares, but I just can't get my head around how it goes from out of the top 1000 into the top 100 just because it's on a compilation album. Songs usually get boosted from compilation albums, but this is rather extreme!!!

297. Michel Teló - Ai Se Eu Te Pego! :o :o :o Didn't think this would take off in the UK (if you can call going top 300 "taking off").

"Somebody That I Used To Know" is possibly one of the worst songs I've ever heard. :puke2:

Kworb Update

01 (1.0000) David Guetta (feat. Sia) - Titanium

02 (0.8191) Gotye (feat. Kimbra) - Somebody That I Used to Know

03 (0.7872) Alyssa Reid (feat. Jump Smokers) - Alone Again [2 versions]

04 (0.5598) Flo Rida (feat. Sia) - Wild Ones

05 (0.5227) Jessie J - Domino

06 (0.4670) Cover Drive - Twilight

07 (0.3823) Rizzle Kicks - Mama Do The Hump

08 (0.3582) Lana Del Rey - Born to Die [3 versions]

09 (0.3213) Kelly Clarkson - Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)

10 (0.3077) Pitbull (feat. Chris Brown) - International Love [2 versions]

11 (0.2686) Pixie Lott - Kiss the Stars

12 (0.2644) Ed Sheeran - Drunk [2 versions]

13 (0.2519) Lloyd (feat. Andre 3000 + Lil Wayne) - Dedication to My Ex (Miss That) [2 versions]

14 (0.2321) Flo Rida - Good Feeling

15 (0.2015) Lana Del Rey - Video Games [2 versions]

16 (0.1927) Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight [2 versions]

17 (0.1842) Avicii - Levels [2 versions]

18 (0.1827) Labrinth (feat. Tinie Tempah) - Earthquake

19 (0.1797) Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party - Antidote [2 versions]

20 (0.1707) Redlight - Get Out My Head

With Flo Rida comfortable down to #14 on iTunes, I think the likelihood of 'Born to Die' stealing its place inside the top 10 is likely, with 'Alone Again' taking Labrinth's place. 'Video Games' has also crept up the iTunes chart all week, with the multiple versions (+ Olly Murs and Avicii) pushing 'Earthquake' all the way down to #18 - although other versions of the track may push it a lil' higher if we could seem them.

Not sure how the popularity bars will change over the next few days - I imagine the 'weekend effect' will benefit the likes of Lloyd, Avicii, Olly Murs and Labrinth more than anything else. 'Moves Like Jagger' and 'We Found Love' are on (0.1227) and (0.0907) respectively.

I wonder how much it's sold to get to no. 297?

I'd be very surprised if this suddenly took off in the UK and became a hit here. As I just posted in the Michel Teló prediction thread, I just can't see it being a massive hit unless it became a hit in the late summer after everyone goes on their summer holidays abroad, hears the track, comes back to the UK and downloads it then.

'Ai Se Eu Te Pego!' has been in and around the top 300 for a few weeks now, it will have sold a good few thousand by now (maybe even 10k+).
I don't think that Michel Telo song will even go top 100, at least not for a while, since songs don't sell well in the UK unless they get lots of radio airplay (I know Rack City is just outside the top 100 in the same situation, but that song is in a whole different league to everything else).

 82. Next To Me - Cover Mogul :o

 65. I Got 5 On It (feat. Michael Marshall) - Luniz

 96. I'm Day Dreaming (feat. Akon & Snoop Dogg) - Redd

I just looked up the Luniz song and it was a #3 hit in 1995. Never heard of it before :P The Redd song is very recent though (only uploaded to YouTube on 17/11/2011).

'I'm Day Dreaming' would be Akon's 35th top 100 hit if it makes it (although I don't thyink it will unless it keeps climbing and sticks around next week).

I've heard the Luniz song on the radio a few times before. That's why I thought it was random. I saw the title, thought "that looks familiar". Then I listened to the song and thought "that sounds familiar". My next thought after that was why is it in the top 100!? I still don't know. I guess I'll just have to accept I'll never find out. :(
Luniz 'I got 5 on it' is classic 90s. One of those songs where the refrain sticks in your head disproportionately to the rest of it! Is it 59p or something?

No, it's just being cherrypicked a LOT from a new compilation (namely 'Anthems Hip-Hop 2 - Ministry Of Sound'). I just checked to see if it was track 1 on it or something but it's actually track 18, so you have to scroll down to see it - so there must be SOMETHING else that's helping it. Maybe it's on the ad for the album if there is one?

According to Twitter, they played it on Radio 1 today!!!!

Although that still doesn't fully help, since it got top 100 yesterday, but it might exlpain why it's still climbing. It's rare for Radio 1 to play something from that time period isn't it? I guess they saw it in the chart and played it.

Agreed. I haven't even heard 'Twilight' but I'm 99.9999999% I'd prefer it. Not that I'd like it anyway. My sister keeps singing what I assume is a part of the track and it sounds terribly annoying.

Hurrah at Lana creeping into the top 10! Wasn't expecting that at all. Really hoping she can manage to go top 10 on the real chart.

It is in the advert, must be one of those 'I haven't heard that in aaaggggess' songs.

Really? :D

'Rack City' is doing well in the UK purely because of that YouTube video with the teenage boy miming to the song with his granny dancing in the background. :P

It was on Greg James' 10 Minute Takeover when listeners text in requests :P

'Paradise' was disqualified, (from the Chart), for several weeks, because

it was a Free Gift with pre-orders of 'Mylo Xyloto'. Over 118,000 copies

of the Single were disqualified.

The same will happen if Madonna has some kind of 'deal', where you

get her Single for nothing, if you pre-order her Album.

I think it is fair. The Chart is supposed to be for Singles that people

actually buy - not what they get as a Freebie.

It is down to Madonna, if she wants her Single to be able to have all

of its Sales counted, in the UK. (Her Record Company, too - but, she

is not the sort of Woman who lets the Record Company call all the shots).

I really disagree, I don't think it's fair at all. It's really no different to any number of tracks you can buy on iTunes that you can then have the price discounted from the album when you choose to 'complete my album'. Technically you're still paying for the song either way, they should at least be able to differentiate between those pre-ordering the album and those buying the already available album track.
