January 27, 201214 yr Absolutely love Coldplay, and would be happy for them to be #1 this week, but I really think it'd be brilliant for 21 to have 21 weeks at #1 :lol: Would just be so fitting for it :heehee: 60 copies between them, wow so close.
January 27, 201214 yr Author We haven't had a new #1 album yet this year, with the #1 changing between Ed, Adele, Bruno and maybe Coldplay. Hopefully next week we should see a change with Lana Del Rey, she could easily sell over 22k that's all she needs. As for the singles Alyssa Reid could be a dark horse, I see the fake versions are appearing on iTunes already but saying that, the fakes can hinder her chart position. I think the #1 position is going to be between David Guetta/Sia and Flo Rida/Sia challenging for the #1 single next week, with Gotye thrown in the mix. I love seeing tracks climbing to #1 after such an amount of weeks in the chart, instead of debuting at #1.

Emeli Sandé and Gotye are both releasing in a fortnight though, so presumably: 05/02 Lana Del Rey - Born To Die 60k 12/02 Lana Del Rey - Born To Die 35k 19/02 Emeli Sandé - Our Version of Events 50k The Brits are on the 21st, then if nothing gets a huge boost Bruce Springsteen will probably take it two weeks after.

January 27, 201214 yr Loving the top ten at the moment, Titanium and Somebody That I Used To Know really taking off with the British public now, Sia twice in the top five and a second hit from the same era for Kelly Clarkson. I adore Twilight too and really like everything else in the top ten, save for Pitbull. Certainly it's the closest it's been to my personal taste for years :D

Earthquake should climb this week then as it's now #8 on iTunes and increasing (plus it still has the weekend effect to come) :D Pumped Up Kicks has stopped its rapid fall on iTunes and has now stabilised in the 40s it seems, so if it's #29 now it should have no problem staying top 40 at least. I was hoping for a climb to the top 20 at the start of the week but the powers that be at iTunes finally put its price back up to 99p so it just wasn't to be :( :P

When is 'Next To Me' released? I've seen the video a few times and I really like the track. I'm guessing Emeli will be performing at The Brit Awards 2012 so if she performs 'Next To Me', the combined sales (single version, Brits version) might create another big selling single benefitting from two versions charting high on iTunes. I can see both Lana Del Rey and Emeli Sandé's albums going to #1 like Charlie mentioned earlier. Don't think either will have the mammoth selling power that ''21' enjoyed throughout 2011. Of the two, I'd predict 'Our Version of Events' will be the bigger selling album - possibly of the year? Difficult to tell at the moment.
