looking back, the last time I truly loved a duo of number 1s was when 'Dare' replaced 'The Importance Of Being Idle' back in 2005, both songs would be in my top 10 of that year easily

I do tend to like most duos though, I think 2010 with Written In The Stars replacing Just The Way You Are was the last time I really liked both (even though the latter's been a bit overplayed since then)

The Wanted are #16 in America, Looking likely for a top 10 smash for them in the US.

I literally can't see there being any chance of Gotye being number one this week. According to Kworb Gotye is actually decreasing and the weekend effect will favour Titanium more. If Gotye wants to be number one he will need to establish at least a 25%+ lead over Guetta which I can't see happening. I think next week will be it's greatest chance of being number one. At first I assumed Emeli Sande would go to number one, but she's releasing the album the following day.

10. Lana Del Rey - Born To Die 28.6%

11. David Guetta & Nicki Minaj - Turn Me On 28.2%

It's looking likely Guetta will get his 5th top 10 single from Nothing But The Beat, I am still surprised why he even released Little Bad Girl as a single, it will be the single which will struggle the most in sales comparing it to Titanium & Turn Me On.

It's depressing me that Maroon 5 are still #30 combined on iTunes, can you please just drop out of the top 40 asap please.

Jason Derulo hasn't had a big boost from being 59p, which is good to see, as the song sucks.

78. Drake ft. Lil Wayne - The Motto

80. Tyga - Rack City

93. Luniz - I Got 5 On It

106. Nelly Furtado ft. Timbaland - Promiscuous

121. Lil Wayne ft. Static Major - Lollipop

124. 50 Cent ft. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland - Ayo Technology

131. Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans

136. Fabolous ft. Tamia - Into You

144. Nelly - Ride Wit Me

145. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight

161. Pitbull - I Know You Want Me

164. Kanye West - Can't Tell Me Nothing

200. Tyga ft. Lil Wayne - Faded

308. Flo Rida ft. T-Pain - Low

356. Ed Sheeran - Little Bird

642. T-Pain ft. Chris Brown - Freeze

805. Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone

832. David Guetta ft. Jennifer Hudson - Night of Your Life

934. Kanye West ft. Jay-Z, Bon Iver, Rick Ross & Nicki Minaj - Monster

962. Tinie Tempah ft. Labrinth - Frisky

I think David Guetta's next US single after Turn Me On might be I Can Only Imagine, so that might get into the charts if it gets a music video too, even though it probably won't get promoted as a single here. It's clearly nowhere near as popular as Turn Me On though.

It has men on it and is demeaning to women. Isn't that like, totally in? See also: 'Pass At Me' (the awful Timbo track he's featured on).

He's an idiot if he doesn't go with Titanium next in the US. I think When Love Takes Over flopping in comparison to Sexy Bitch (this also works as an example for the above point) turned him off trying anything with any emotion in it whatsoever in the US. Because Americans can only like generic songs about dancing and slutty women of course.

Where is 'Niggas In Paris'? Can't be arsed to trawl through the top 1,000 to look for it.

I can't believe how well All About Tonight has done, I think it will remain top 100 for another 2-3 weeks and I hope it gets decreased to 59p in order to see the song pass 400,000k.

144. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight

695. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight

Poor What Do You Take Me For dropping out of the top 1000 so fast!

436. Miley Cyrus - You're Going To Make Me Lonesome When You Go

173. Nicole Scherzinger - Wet

649. Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath

901. Pussycat Dolls - Jai Ho

It's incredible how good Wet has done for a peak of #21. The songs sold over 130,000+ What's actually quite impressive for single 4 and very poor airplay!

It's #411 atm. I really, really hope it can get back in the top 100 with the help of the music video and Radio 1 playlisting, although I'm really not getting my hopes up here. I'm really surprised Radio 1 have playlisted so many of their songs, but I won't complain.

It depends how you look at it tbh. A lot of girls like to be told they're attractive.

Gotye is an odd one, it climbs quite quickly during the day and then begins to fall back during the evening. I'd imagine it will pull away again tomorrow and on Friday to get a decent lead but it will be tight. Completely agree with the weekend effect comment. Even if Gotye does get a good lead, it will fall back quite quickly during Saturday (like last week) which will probably make the difference.

Next week I'm almost certain DJ Fresh will be #1, it will be very front loaded but I can't see it NOT getting to #1. Had Emeli Sande not had her album out next week then it would put up a big challenge but her album will go to #1 anyway. Gotye's main chance will be the week after next (unless a Brits performance is big enough).

And more fool them. There's a difference between your standard What Makes You Beautiful or whatever type song and Sexy Bitch. Choice lyric: "I'm trying to find the word to describe this girl without being disrespectful ..... damn she's a sexy bitch". Any girl with a brain would realise how demeaning that is. It's all just reducing women to a sex object and he seems to think that is what he should restrict himself to doing. David is so frustrating. He has proven time and again that he can create amazing pop songs but he seems hell bent on commercial success and in the most cynical way. Frankly it's surprising he even released something like Titanium in the first place. And you just know that despite the fact that Titanium is doing more for album sales than Without You and is his first #1 of the era, he'll release Sexy Bitch 3.0 as the lead single to his next album and we'll be back at square one.

"Sexy Bitch" does actually seem quite tame compared to "Little Bad Girl", and it was a far better song to boot. "Where Them Girls At" was a more obvious copy of SB and sold well so I wouldn't be surprised if a similar song led his next album. However, "Titanium" proves that he can do well with more interesting songs provided they're well-written - if his next album were to lead with Sexy Bitch 3.0 then you can be pretty sure that there's nothing as good as "Titanium" on the album.

I really don't feel qualified to speak on this, since I'm not a girl. I'm not capable of mind-reading, but based on the fact that so many girls listen to those songs and love them, and the fact that I've personally never heard a girl complain about any lyrics of those songs before, I'm really not sure if they find it that demeaning. I'm sure some do obviously, but these songs get so popular, that I think most don't mind. Sometimes I think men have more of a problem with the lyrics than the women themselves.

And Without You is closer to Titanium both lyrically and musically than it is to Sexy Chick, Sweat, etc. in my opinion.

Also, I think a large factor as to why Sexy Chick was such a bigger hit than When Loves Takes Over was because Akon is a lot more popular than Kelly Rowland. So there's that to take into account too. Maybe if the vocalists swapped around, When Love Takes Over would've sold more (we'll never know for sure though).

And finally, Titanium is kind of like a "ballad" (by David Guetta's standards). Looking at other artists, it seems almost everybody at the moment leads their album campaigns with an upbeat song. So if David Guetta does that for his next album again, I wouldn't lose all hope just yet. Although hopefully his sound won't be commercial by then, so he'll flop anyway.

I agree that David Guetta should release Titanium next in the US. It doesn't look likely that he will though. :(

My last two were When Love Takes Over / Bulletproof... ages ago!

 I'm probably the same. I was looking at some charts from 09/10 the other day and realised just how much better everything seemed. Maybe I was just more mainstream with my tastes then but the charts this year have been absolutely dire.

Also why do people have a problem with one-week #1s? I think I prefer them..

What makes you Beautiful might just be worse than Sexy Bitch. I wonder if some people even read the lyrics. Its not a song about humility. The lyrics say what makes you beautiful is that you don't know your beautiful. Its so manipulative. Its pandering to girls with low self esteem who want to think 1D will adore them. Its shameless. All their songs consist of cliches teen girls want to hear. At least Sexy Bitch is upfront and hilarious, because objectifying women and comparing them to angry dogs is not being disrespectful! I miss the 'A Little More Love' David

10 Lana 0.287791

11 Guetta 0.270712

Goddammit!!!

Lana's still going to be top 10 combined even after her top version falls to #11, chances are it'll be Kelly or Rizzle Kicks at #11 officially this week unless "Turn Me On" doesn't have much of a top 10 boost.
