I'm sorry but that's absolute bollocks. Pretty much every US artist who isn't a household name in Middle America fawns over Radio 1 because they have actual DJs with a passion for music doing shows and playing a hell of a lot more adventurous stuff. For instance, Skrillex probably gets more plays on Radio 1 than he does on every mainstream station in the US combined - R1 alone is miles more open-minded than the entire US radio network.

 

Totally agree. Radio 1 does an excellent job at showcasing a wide range of different contemporary music. A lot of it isn't my cup of tea so I don't listen myself, but I applaud them for not just playing the same stuff as everybody else.

I heard this a couple of days ago. It's actually quite impressive, in the sense that it's very different to the original. Sometimes the remixes are just exactly the same as the original with a rap over them, but they really made an effort with this one. It does sound a lot like Party Rock Anthem in the instrumentation, so I'd guess either LMFAO themselves or GoonRock produced it.

 

I prefer the original, but I think they should promote this version as the main version, since it is basically a generic US rap euro-club-banger, so it would do really well in the charts with good promotion, and I'd like to see this song be a hit for Madonna. Maybe they should make a music video for the remix, and send it to radio in the US. It sounds much more modern, and LMFAO are "cool" to kids, so top 40 stations would play it more. Although it's generic as hell, so I wouldn't mind if they didn't promote it at all. :lol:

Its only Tuesday night - if Gotye get there tomorrow and remain there till saturday night I can see Gotye getting it. Titanium hasn't had a huge lead over Gotye from Sunday - Tuesday.

Getting bored of one week #1s so would usually like "Titanium" to hold on, but I love "Somebody That I Used To Know" and don't want it to miss out on what could be its only chance of #1. I don't think it will be its only chance, but you never know.

I'm not bored of one week #1s, as long as they have actually been big hits like Titanium. If a song goes straight in at #1 then spends one week there and falls rapidly and isnt much of a hit, thats what i get bored of.
