1, Vogue - Just HAS to be, Madonna at her absolute peak, she's just not consistant these days.

2, Express Yourself - For the ambition, when I needed it.

3, Jump - I bloody LOVE this song but I give Stuart Price credit for it mainly. Could have be sung massively better.

4, Holiday - Pop/Disco classic.

5, Human Nature - Should have been 1st single, a bold message after the Erotica period with perhaps a less "racey" video (even though I love it).

6, Beautiful Stranger - was gutted it didn't get to #1, like Holiday, it's joyous abandonment in a song.

7, Material Girl - It's quite an unusual song, I think, to be a mid-80's smash.

8, Music - Phat beats, the start with her fascination with time (which has gotten old)

9, Impressive Instant - Didn't want to open a can of worms for including album tracks but it's just genius, lyrically & sonically.

10, Causing A Commotion - For the lyrical narrative & comedic, ballsy Blonde Ambition performance, ahhh Blonde Ambition....

Worst single - Take a bow - Like a lot of UK Madonna Fans this didn't strike a cord with me. Can't understand why it was so successful in the U.S.

I think it speaks volumes that "Like A Prayer" has figured very high up for pretty much everyone in their Madonna lists. For me having only really been aware of her current output post-"Die Another Day", it's surely her best regarded song?

I don't really like Madonna's music tbh,the only song I kinda like is Like A Prayer.

01. David Guetta & Sia - Titanium 100%

02. Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know 95.4%

277. Invincible Instrumentals - Invincible (Tribute Instrummental To MGK & Ester Dean)

Wow. I'm surprised to see this on the feed! :o I hope they release the original while there's still the hype for it.

On a similar note, Written in the Stars is back in the top 100. I had it on repeat loads yesterday, so it's a funny coincidence. Is it a 59p boost?

Yes!

On a price-related note, M.I.A's fallen to #50 and I'd connect that with her price going up from 79p to 99p sometime today.

Thanks. :D

I love M.I.A.'s song. It's been stuck in my head since I first heard it lol. Plus, I feel like I have to like her because of the controversy with Fergie a few years ago.

No problem! ^_^

It's ridiculously catchy. I've been shoving it down all my friends' throats over the last few days! Can't wait for the album. I never heard about the Fergie thing though!

what was the peak position in uk? it surely must have been #1

You're just a tiny bit off. #26.

Yeah. I don't know if it's a sample or what, but that asian-sounding melody is just so infectious. I love it.

The Fergie thing was just that some of her songs (mainly London Bridge () and Fergalicious ()) sounded very much like M.I.A. songs, so everybody thought she was copying her. They're both on the same record label aswell, so I remember even their boss had to come out and make a statement about it. :drama: M.I.A. was going around complaining that Fergie was just remaking her songs in interviews and stuff. Although I do agree that London Bridge and Fergalicious sounded similar to some of her songs. It was at the time in the charts where dance, hip hop, pop, electronic, etc. started all merging, so Fergie did it on her album, but M.I.A. had been doing that all along I guess.

lol, are you sure you don't live in the US? But yeah, Lollipop was more popular here than its peak suggests (and it's an iTunes top 1000 staple, I bet it's in there now). Another song from that time that charted freakishly low here that seemed like a massive hit in real life was Whatever You Like by T.I.

EDIT: Lollipop is #191 atm! :o It's usually not that high. Is it also 59p?

It got to #3, but it was a massive #3, and climbed to its peak (which was rare in that time I think).

I was in senior school when that song came out... so yeah. It was a pretty big part of my life for a while. I'm not sure about "most popular" song during my life, but I think in terms of cultural impact, it probably had the most. I didn't really realize at the time, but looking back, I certainly remember how many of my classmates started using more slang and dressing "street", amongst other things, to try and be more like 50 Cent, the coolest guy on the planet. And I think the song changed some people's musical tastes aswell.

I can't really think what I'd say the most popular song I'd experienced is. It's difficult. In recent years, I might say Bleeding Love. It was one of those songs that seemingly had the whole nation talking, a bit like Someone Like You from last year did, after Adele performed it at the BRITs.

I was in senior school as well when in da club came out, in year 7. Everyone kept playing that song over and over again at my school.

The Killers - Mr Brightside seems to have vanished this morning?

Maybe it's just FINALLY left the top 300?

Seriously though, I'm surprised Gotye isn't #1 yet. Fingers crossed it gets there today. Could be a close battle this week.

We Are Young by fun. (a indie band that's been around for a years now, and they got covered by Glee Cast a while back iirc) is #1 on US iTunes now! :o I wonder if it'll do anything here, although I've noticed indie music does better in the US than the UK, at least in the singles charts.

Is the Gym Class Heroes song not out this week on one of those new compilations?

I don't think so (if it is, it's not in the top 1000).

 99. Time - Chase & Status & Delilah

Chase & Status back in the top 100 again (thanks to being reduced to 59p) :D I hope we hear some new stuff from them soon though.

 36. Let Me Go - Maverick Sabre

 45. I Need - Maverick Sabre

 46. No One - Maverick Sabre

Ouch at 'No One' both already falling and being overtaken by 'I Need'. Seems there's very little interest in 'No One'. I wonder if we could see 'Let Me Go' back in the top 40 again this week. I think this must be the first time I've seen an album version of a single that wasn't previously even top 100 getting into the iTunes top 40.

Gotye now 96.3% of #1, I really hope he can snatch the #1 this week. One-weekers aren't ideal but I'd rather have both Guetta and Gotye at #1 than just Guetta.
