Why? We just have to see if it keeps growing in the lead. Its not even midday on a Wednesday, its almost exactly half way through the trading week

I can just see it doing a 'Moves Like Jagger' or something similar that's all. I would like it to be there of course, although I do like 'Titanium'. I hope you're right tho! :D

I also get a 'long running number 2' feel of Gotye, but its got quite a good chance of number 1 now, can't believe its number 1 :o just not the type of song I'd expect to get there (I know I've said this before, but the point still stands!)

On the top 10 Madonna bandwagon:

1. Frozen

2. Hung Up

3. Rain

4. La Isla Bonita

5. Papa Don't Preach

6. Like A Prayer

7. Ray Of Light

8. Beautiful Stranger

9. Material Girl

10. Crazy For You

Give Me all Your Lovin' is growing on me but doesn't come near to the greatness of the above.

The question is why spell love 'luv' why?

Where is Rebecca Ferguson's new single? VIP Track of the Week on 4music. 'Too good to lose'

Why spell The as 'Da'?

There is a great retro remix of Too Good to Lose going around on Dance Nation too

I think it has a lot to deal with the shout-outs "L.U.V. Madonna!" It'd be much less cohesive if it was "L.O.V.E. Madonna", one excess syllable.

Yes Gotye :cheer: PLEASE get the official #1 to keep up the ratio of great #1s in 2012 to shit ones (there have been 2 fantastic #1s so far, 2 other good ones and one horrendous one - see if you can guess which #1s are which here :kink:)

Guetta has already dropped to (exactly) 0.9, if Gotye can keep extending his lead I think the official #1 is definitely in his reach - Guetta was never THAT far ahead to begin with.

Turn Me On seems to have stalled its progress on the top 10 now - good, the longer the focus stays on Titanium the better. I bet Turn Me On will outsell Titanium overall :(

Redlight still in the top 20 at #19 - this could end up being a higher peaking version of Gold Dust/Dirty Talk at this rate :o

Madonna up to 31 and 94. I think this will climb over time and get at least top 10, it's still early days for it.

Rebecca Ferguson up to #33 :( Probably will stay top 40 this week then... I swear it was out of the top 40 the last time I checked.

M.I.A. back up to #49, I hope this can at least outpeak 'Jimmy' (#66) to become her third biggest hit.

Walk Off The Earth up to #62. I wonder if this could eventually make the top 40?

Nero - Crush On You back up to #74 and Chase & Status feat. Delilah - Time back up to #84 :D

Drake/Lil Wayne up to #77 :w00t: Please go top 100 on Sunday.

-x-

This has been a rambling commentary

I know. I dont get it. I cant stand You 'Da' One for example.

Yeah i've heard that remix, really liking it at the moment!

19 [20] (0.1605) Labrinth (feat. Tinie Tempah) - Earthquake

20 [13] (0.1550) Birdy - Skinny Love [2 versions]

Edited by THEO.

She clearly pronounces it as "da" in the song. And really, why bother correcting "da" to "The" when "You The One" is gramatically incorrect anyway. The "Luvin" in GAYLUV is fitting because of the L-U-V chants.
20 [13] (0.1550) Birdy - Skinny Love [3 versions]

Birdy only has 2 versions top 100 now doesn't she? I really hope this doesn't re-peak this week but even if it doesn't a top 20 return seems inevitable :(

I didn't notice Flo Rida/Sia re-overtaking Alyssa Reid :D Good good.

That is correct - my mistake.

Niggas In Paris has just been playlisted by Radio 1 (under the title of just 'Paris' naturally) so hopefully it'll be coming to a top 100 near us very soon :cheer: Not currently in the top 300 though.

No, don't say that, another track I love spending an eternity at no.2, being thwarted every week, usually by 'non' no.1's!

ISTR that the closest MLJ got was in it's *first* week at no.2, just 400 copies or something, is this correct?

The closest it got was the week Example was #1, when he was ahead by <200 IIRC.

I know Stay Awake was a complete non-entity of a #1 and has sold like 5 times less than Moves Like Jagger overall but it was still the right #1 IMO. There's absolutely no contest at all in quality. My second favourite song of the year over one of my 5 least favourite songs of the year.

COME ON TITANIUM! :(

Really hope it can hold on to #1 ahead of this non-event of a song :(

I think you will find that it's Titanium that's the 'non-event' of a song.

Personal preferences - don't you just love 'em :)

The video is coming this week, so that should help aswell
