Surely Starships is only charting here because she performed it on the Grammys? TBH, I'm surprised that boost hasn't faded already.

She performed an album track called 'Roman's Holiday' at the Grammy's, not 'Starships' - which makes it's sudden success purely down to name alone and people listening to the preview and liking it that much. Haven't looked at other iTunes charts, but I imagine it's doing well enough for them to consider making a music video for it - after all, it is supposedly the lead single.

I doubt the Grammy performance was seen by that many people in the UK and it was not her best performance or Starships.

Nicki has a growing fanbase and Starships may not be her best song but it is catchy.

kind of off topic but... one direction in the US itunes top 10...what? :S did they perform over there or something?

Not as far as I am aware. It's just the fanbase they've accumulated online. They haven't even sent the song to US radio yet! :o

They confirmed a while back that this would be the lead single (instead of a song called Va Va Voom), so I imagine it'll get a music video. Although Nicki has released a couple of songs before and not given them music videos (like Girls Fall Like Dominoes).

Is Gotye no1 combined again?

Nope. He's back over 1 combined but DJ Fresh's second version means he's still in the lead. However it looks like he could be back at #1 next week unless Gym Class Heroes stop him (or something massive at the BRITs).

Those Whitney tracks have fallen quite a fair bit now, she probably just scrape the top 40 with I Wanna Dance... and I Will Always...
Turn Me On  #9 :cheer: New iTunes peak?

It is! It's been top 10 twice before but never got above #10!

When it was first released it peaked at #11.

LMFAO's new song is in the top 1000:

635. LMFAO - Sorry For Party Rocking

I think this will be big. A top 10 hit, but not as big as Sexy and I Know It.

The British public are odd how has LMFAO done so well, it is as though the Anti Christ has arisen.

It is even worse for the fact that they are related to the founder of Motown Berry Gordy.

I wonder if Marcus Collins has a shot at No 1, his video and song seem to be getting support.

Katy Perry's re-release has not been confirmed for a UK release yet

Oh, Really? I thought it was out everywhere that date! Maybe not then haha.

Wintney should be top 20 with I will always and top 30 with Wanna Dance with somebody, she wont fall THAT fast after being top 20 on itunes for 3.5 days then we have the funeral on saturday|!

The UK was also the first country in the world where LMFAO got a #1 (Gettin' Over You) apparently.

Sorry For Party Rocking is a bit weird. It has this weird noise going all the way through it. And it has one of those wannabe-dubstep sections in it.

[250] 221| Rihanna ft. Jay-Z - Talk That Talk

Hey look, a new deadmau5 song popping out of nowhere. His last new single (Aural Psynapse) never made the top 100 so it's a bit surprising to see 'Maths' going straight in there. Now up to #80 by the way.

Fingers crossed Madeon (who's signed to deadmau5's label) will have a big hit was 'Icarus' in a couple of week's time.

'Fix You' back in the top 100 yet again at #100  Charlie Brown at #92.

 73. Mah Na Mah Na - Mahna Mahna and The Two Snowths

 75. Man or Muppet - Jason Segel & Walter

Hasn't this movie/soundtrack been out for ages? Why are these two songs only just taking off now? In any case it'll be great to finally have the Muppets version of Mah Na Mah Na chart in the UK :kink: Piero Umiliani's version got to #8 in 1977.

 68. The Motto (Bonus Track) [feat. Lil Wayne] - Drake

It'd be amazing if this could go top 75 but I think somewhere in the mid to low 80s is more likely - still, should easily climb from #100 which I didn't think would happen at the start of the week :D

 70. The Wolves - Ben Howard

The iTunes chart is soooooooo boring these days. Only song making a big movement right now is One Thing. Starships seems to be stalling and M.I.A is rising too slowly to excite me. Can't wait for the BRITs to shake things up.
The charts are boring at the moment no big movements until the 12th. Unless the rumours about Rihanna and Chris Brown doing a collab on Birthday Cake are true.

NOT COMBINED.

01. Dj Fresh - Hot Right Now 100%

02. Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know 94.5%

03. Emeli Sande - Next To Me 91.9%

Why has One Direction - One thing jumped up so much? Was it performed on This Morning or something? It's quite comfortable combined in #12th. The most likley outcome for the song this weekend will be #10-11. I don't mind the song but it would be funny for One Direction to ruin their top 10 streak so fast, good choice from management reducing the single to 59p though.

28. Emeli Sande - Read All About It Part 3
