Have you considered the fact they dont sell albums as a factor!?

Obviously OYR cost more than this album and probably didn't make a profit. This campaign is much cheaper for them and will likley make money even if it only sells 60000 units. E! would have paid for the recording of Lease My Love, Not Giving Up and Gentleman. 30 Days is from the OYR era, What About Us paid for itself.

We don't know E! paid for recording though!

They are definitely struggling making money on music though, It's pretty obvious they are trying to come up with different ways to secure sales hence Disco Love having a single pre-order and an E.P not actually featuring the single.

The album whilst working with top producers, does seem a bit of a cop out after waiting so long especially the deluxe version, surely they could have found an unheard track to put on at least one of the extra tracks.

I just hope they do manage to make a profit on the album and fingers crossed it gets a proper album campaign with post-album singles, although I have a feeling it won't.

Was it pointed out that the Deluxe cover is slightly different?

John Newman will probs get #1 but I hope the girls goes top 10, if not top 5

I'm thinking #6 or #7 but it depends on 'Disco Love'. If it's a hit then definitely top ten, if it flops then possibly a #9 or #10 at a push.
Why not wouldn't it chart in the top 20 instead?

Album sales are very weak these days, if any of their previous albums were released this year they would have all gone top 10, 5 or even 1.

Got a hunch that the album will peak @ somewhere higher than Disco love's peak chart position.

It's all relative though because they probably wouldn't have sold the same amount.

I have a feeling this album could open with the fewest first week sales they've had, can honestly see them selling 10k or something?!

So all the other artists sales are low...but The Saturdays'sales wouldn't be?

If the other (more popular and bigger) artists can't sell shit on the album charts at the moment, why would The Saturdays?

Hopefully What About Us, helps sell an extra few albums :)
Regardless of sales which are bound to be dreadful..I hope it manages top 5 considering What about Us did so well it would be a shame if it came in in the lower half of the top 10 or missed it completely.. ;)
We've learned that multiple Silver certified singles will make an album a hit, so fingers crossed Disco Love does it, 30 Days will mildly help sales I think.
I'll be happy with a Top 10 debut for the album. Whether or not it makes Top 5 depends entirely on promo and how Disco Love performs. They'll have sold between 550,000 and 600,000 singles by the time the album drops (80K for 30 Days, 375K for WAU, 55K for Gentleman, 40-90K for DL first week) so that should make pushing the album a bit easier. The only issue is we've been waiting so long, the album release kind of feels like a non-event now. But that shouldn't impact the general public.

That reminds be of the few weeks before the release On Your Radar when people said they would easily go top 10 and sell 30-40k.

It's way too soon to predict anything right now. We don't know how Disco Love will do because it's nowhere to be seen on radio or tv airplay at the moment. We don't even know their promo! It's not because Gentleman had so little promotion that we can assume Disco Love will have tons... :( So to think they could do 40-90k with the song, I just don't understand. They just had one of their biggest flops! And sadly, this is not What About Us part 2 where the song is being released one year after their last flop.

Look, I'm not saying Disco Love will flop, but I'm not saying it will be a hit either because it's not possible to know yet. It's just way too hard to say with the circumstances. And I don't want "Yeah, but Disco Love is better than Gentleman. It's more radio friendly, etc, etc." Yes it is true, but we all know really well that good friendly pop numbers by The Saturdays aren't exactly always hits.

They should really capitalize on the success of What About Us. Actually, everytime Disco Love is mentionned, it should be like this : "Disco Love, the brand new Saturdays single, following the UK number one hit What About Us featuring Sean Paul!" I love Gentleman and 30 Days, but there's no time for these two. Less 30 Days and Gentleman = a bigger snippet of What About Us during the spot/or whatever.

I know people will probably say they would be better off if they introduced the four singles because it would show some variety, but I still think they need to capitalize on What About Us. That's the song that sold 375k, not the other two. The longer the people can hear it on a introduction or a TV-spot, the better it is for the album, in my opinion.

Read the Disco Love thread. Disco love is getting airplay, not a lot, but a regular amount. Was play listed on Capital a few days ago and is played a few times in the mornings and is getting regular each day. Though the airplay is not as much as higher, missing you or ego. It's getting about how much forever is over or work was getting. 2nd thing is that there's still time to the release and if they have started to play it I don't see why you guys are saying nothing's happening. With, this should of been released when... Messages. They probably didnt know that WBU would've been this much of a success and there's no point in saying all this cause they haven't. If Disco Love is getting some airplay with almost a month to go, I don't see I why you would think the single and the album would flop. Broken Arrow was released by Pixie Lott before her re-release. Debuted at #9 and stayed in the charts the entire Christmas period and gave it 300,000 sales more, regardless of the fact that Broken Arrow bombed. Just because a single bombs doesn't means the album will. It just means it has to be promoted more. Don't forget, The saturdays released their album against so many Christmas albums and that took it down so many places.

The fact that many pele are only interested in Christmas songs/albums at that time of year means that not many people were interested in it. The albums promotion also got wiped out by huge international artists. This albums being released on October and I don't think many pele are looking for a Christmas album then. So yeah, people can think it will do well...
