Imagine a world without The Saturdays :(

I'd rather not. :(

I was just gonna say..

Surely the tour would just be a Greatest Hits tour?

They've already said they're touring next year.

Thinking about it.. a GH in the fourth quarter with Disco Love being a really strong single could be amazing for them.

Don't forget, Girls Aloud really got going after their GH did well.

And what about all the other artists that flop with a Greatest Hits? We should not just ignore that because one girlgroup did better once they released their GH. I don't mean to sound rude, but it's really not going to help just because it helped Girls Aloud. I actually think a Greatest Hits from The Saturdays would do just as much as Ten. Album sales aren't the same and Girls Aloud were probably just as popular as The Saturdays were when they released Ten. You have to take into consideration hype and media profile. The Saturdays just aren't big enough to release a Greatest Hits.

It's a bit like when the girls tried OA/OS with Notorious. It's not because it worked for some that it worked for The Saturdays.

I'd rather die!

I'd probably walk off a cliff singing 'Fall'.

I do not think it is a greatest hits album as it shouldn't have taken this long to record a few tracks surely? I am excited for the album though!!

Also, a world without The Saturdays?! I couldn't cope, I remember when one of the members made that fake 'The Saturdays Announce Split' post and I sat for about 15 minutes staring at the topic praying it was not true

I didn't say it was going to be a phenomenal success, I said 'could'.

I don't mean to be rude either, but who's to say that it wouldn't be a success? You do not know that it wouldn't.

Maybe in your opinion it wouldn't, but that means nothing.

Just because it doesn't work for some artists, doesn't mean that it wouldn't work for them in the same sense that because it worked for Girls Aloud doesn't mean it would work for The Saturdays.

What I meant was that any sort of album released with a strong single would perform better, but an album full of singles that people know could do better. Think of all the people that have 'liked' their songs over the years but never bought an album from them, they could invest in this. Who knows?

It may be a success, it may not. It may not even be happening!

But your opinion, just because you wouldn't want a GH, isn't any more valid than mine?

I don't particularly want a GH either. But in the fourth quarter, with a strong single and big promotion a GH could be just what they need.

You don't know it would or could be a success either, so that means nothing just as much. Where are we going from here?

True, but that's just how you should judge things in life. Let's say you're at crossroads and you have three ways in front of you. You know 25 people died in the first one, 36 in the second one and just 5 in the last one. Obviously, it's not because 25 people died in the first one that it means you would die in it too, but the obvious choice would be to take the third road. They can't ignore statistics. Too many Greatest Hits from artists more popular or just as much than them flopped. Plus, in my opinion, their team isn't willing to pull off really amazing promo stunts to cover for their lack of hype and profile. There are obviously more factors to consider, I admit.

You could say exactly the same thing about all these floppy Greatest Hits. Surely people have "liked" their songs over the years but never bought an album from them, yet their GH still flopped. Why? Probably because of hype, profile, probably the music too. But as fans/stans, we're a bit biased, so I'm not going to into the whole music thing.

OBVIOUSLY, I'm not saying this is a DEAD CERTAIN flop, no matter what, don't get me wrong. :( That's not true. If their management do everything : promo stunts, big promo slots, pay radios to play their songs just like The Wanted does, magazine photoshoots, interviews, etc, literally everything... Why wouldn't it be somehow a success? Sure, it would. I do agree with you on that point. But then, if they did that with an 12-new-tracks album, it would just as successful and people might be just as much interrested in 9-10 new albumtracks they can't judge because they are new than with a compilation of singles that they didn't all like (plus, you've gotta remind them what are those tracks, so there's a bit of work to do in that department too).

But, anyway, the chances their management do such a thing are way too small. -_-

My point is, with their current profile and management/team, they are better off with a new album. If it was different, I do believe a GH wouldn't flop.

You have thought waaaay too much into this, I'm not going to keep going over the same points.

How about we just wait and see eh? ;)

The Saturdays' new song 'Disco Love' will have its exclusive first play on Capital FM on Monday morning (19th August).

Keep it Capital from 8am to hear the girls' new single during Capital Breakfast.

'Disco Love' was written and produced by Icelandic producers StopWaitGo and is the girls' 16th single.

"'Disco Love' is a proper Saturdays pop anthem and a great taste of the new album which we've been working on for two years and are super proud of," says Mollie King said.

The track will feature alongside recent singles 'Gentleman' and 'What About Us' on The Saturdays' forthcoming new album, due to be released in the autumn

Good! More new tracks the better. At least 10 songs beyond the singles, please.

God knows how it'll do though. I have zero expectations this time.

As long as it doesn't do another On Your Radar/Wordshaker I'll be fine.

And we better get a post album single this time, too.

I feel like Disco Love is more of an album seller than most of the tracks they've released
The thought of no post album singles will surely make it more likely this will flop.

DJ Fresh confirmed that he's worked with The Saturdays'.

CONFIRMED, ALBUM IS OUT A WEEK AFTER DISCO LOVE IS RELEASED!

I am guessing maybe 14th October?

So are we all in agreement like Wordshaker Gentlemen never happened?
