October 8, 201212 yr This fan made edit is so much better. Will probably use this for iTunes: http://i45.tinypic.com/feqhr4.jpg Agreed, that looks so much better! Well, the good news is it's leaps and bounds better than that mentally scarring cover for Delta. She looks great.

October 20, 201212 yr I listened last night with a massive smile on my face, honest! Such a perfect album. My early faves are I'm Not Ready, When My Stars Come Out, Control, The Speed of Life and all the others. :P
October 20, 201212 yr Here's my initial thoughts on first listen... Child of the Universe - Fantastic intro to the album, love the piano at the beginning and indeed throughout. Love the lyrics too. Very instant song, its got a great beat and I really like the way the song flows! Touch - Sounds different to the way she's performed it recently both in the way she sings it and the background music. Having said that I love it just as much and I like that she's performing it with a real acoustic twist. Wish You Were Here - Classic Delta piano ballad - what she excels at! But its got something fresh that updates the "classic Deltaness" if you get me. Knocked Out - Wow got goosebumps when this started. SERIOUSLY AMAZING SONG! Country flare but poppy enough. Like a grownup Taylor Swift but 1000 times better. Love the guitar, catchy, relatable lyrics - this could be a hit anywhere but can especially see this doing well in the US. Sitting on Top of the World - Having listened to this quite a few times since April - there's not much I can add here but it flows well with the tracks I've just heard and is still a great pop song. I'm Not Ready - More stripped back than the duet version she released with Michael Bolton. I prefer this version. Made me a little teary, the way she's singing you can tell she's pouring her heart out. Hunters and The Wolves - My ears are delighted! Story telling lyrics like the Delta of old but with a Kate Bush like twist. Amazing, love it! Dancing With A Broken Heart - Album version of this song sounds more like a remix of the single version - I do like it though. Hypnotized - "Seven Years without love made it clearer" ... little dagger there Delta lol. Good little song which I think she wrote for a certain Jonas Brother! Not particularly wowed by this on first play, I like it but it will probably take a few listens to really appreciate it. Safe to Believe - Adore the piano in this... its reminiscent of a 90's ballad but sounds up to date too if that makes sense at all. Like something Mariah could have sung of old - Delta even tries such a high note it could be Carey herself. Great song. The Speed of Life - Fabulous lyrics. Loved this one instantly. This is the kind of song I wanted Delta to deliver with this album and she's done it. War on Love - Love the storyline of this song. Can already picture an amazing music video for this. Another instant favourite. I Lost All Love 4 You - It's not difficult to work out who she's singing about. I love the way she hasn't held back what she really feels but as a listener you can still relate to it. Another brilliant song - nothing sounds like a filler track thus far. When My Stars Come Out - So upbeat and anthemic - "I smile when it’s the hardest time to smile, I climb when it’s the highest mountain to climb". My head was bopping all the way through this - its very catchy. Control - Love the way she sings this. Gone is innocent Delta. Alcohol - Love the rocky chorus and the lyrics are again to the point! No Communication - This reminds me of something but I can't put my finger on what it is. OVERALL FIRST IMPRESSION - I like that she isn't talking in riddles like the Delta of old - I am loving this Delta - she means business and isn't scared of what you read into the lyrics! That makes the songs more relatable and probably more commercial - but the album doesn't sound it - it's a modern sound but still retains a sense of what made her so different in the past. I am so happy with the album - in a way I wasn't sure what direction she'd head in but I couldn't be more pleased with the path she's taken - I love it, alot! I'm really proud of her - what a lunatic that makes me sound but who cares. I love this girl - she speaks to me in a way that no other artist does. Come on pay day - I need to order this asap and get the acoustic disc in my life. Edited October 20, 201212 yr by Miss Analyst
October 20, 201212 yr I agree with most of what you've said, really! A perfect album, almost faultless really. If we go for a top 5: 1. Control 2. I'm Not Ready 3. When The Stars Come Out 4. Wish You Were Here 5. The Speed of Life Child Of The Universe, War on Love and I Lost All Love 4 You are close too!
October 21, 201212 yr THE ALBUMS LEAKED?! If you read back a bit, you'll see that the album was put up for streaming on Aussie iTunes. I have a rip but I'm afraid I can't share, I made a promise.
October 21, 201212 yr Don't worry petal, it's really easy to find a link :). Ta for the heads up though.
October 21, 201212 yr Is alcohol and no communication two itunes bonus tracks which are not the physical cd?
October 21, 201212 yr Don't worry petal, it's really easy to find a link :). Ta for the heads up though. OK bbz. :) Is alcohol and no communication two itunes bonus tracks which are not the physical cd? Yes, that's right!
October 21, 201212 yr Top 5 for me at the moment... 1. The Speed of Life 2. Hunters and the Wolves 3. Knocked Out 4. Child of the Universe 5. Alcohol (shame this is only an iTunes bonus track) Close behind are Touch, War On Love and When My Stars Come Out. But really there isn't one song that I'd skip so full marks from me.
October 21, 201212 yr Author WOW at the album version of Dancing With A Broken Heart. First time I heard it I compared it to something Sophie B Hawkins might have done in the 90s but it sounds even more so in the album version, it's Right Beside You 2.0  My full album thoughts later on...safe to say I prefer it to Delta.
