I'm not saying she can't 100% sing but if one person has common sense from the X Factor performance she did, she was totally out of pitch and it screamed "horrible" to me.

Regarding Cher: I think she can sing perfectly well compared to any other popstar. And she has presence. Some of the favourite acts in this board (*ahem*Rihanna*ahem*) have really mediocre performance skills and no one calls them on that (and I do quite like Rihanna btw).

 

Having millions of YouTube views mean nothing. My favourite genre songs have 50million+ views yet hasn't charted so how would you explain that?

What is your favorite genre? Basing on your icon, I would say K-pop, right? So it would be pretty easy to explain it: most of the 50million views are concentrated in Asian countries where they do indeed chart and sell in vast amounts.

YouTube isn't the main video sharing site in Asia. It's actually a minority in Korea (where K-Pop originates from), Japan (where almost all of K-Pop idol releases in Japan are blocked), China (They use Baidu and YouKu instead and last time I was in China, YouTube was blocked. Them three markets make up the biggest Asian fanbase of K-Pop.

 

Most of the YouTube views are contributed to International fanbase instead.
