Posted March 23, 201213 yr Currently Geri Haliwell holds the record for most number 1 hits by a UK female in the UK charts with 4 number 1's : 'Mi chico latino', 'Lift me up' , 'Bag it up' and 'It's raining men' more than 10 years ago.... No other female artist has achieved that feat since then, however, a few have gotten close....recently Alexandra Burke with 'Elephant' which could've tied the record if reached number 1 since Alexandra has already 3.... Which female is in your opinion the most likely to tie or break that record, i chose the most active & current UK female singers among the contenders, therefore no Gabrielle, Kim Wilde , Melanie C, Shirley Bassey, Billie Piper or other UK females which are not really likely to score a top 40 single let alone a number 1.... Vote for which UK female from the list above you think will tie the record first, and between brackets their total of number 1's so far.... Voting Is Now Closed In This Thread. Please Vote In This One. Which UK Female Will Tie Geri Haliwell's record first?, Final Voting After First Eliminations. Five Final Contenders. Prizes. Edited March 28, 201213 yr by Big Mistake
March 23, 201213 yr Author i hope Geri's record will not be tied but i think it will be Alexandra Burke.... or none.... maybe Jessie J too.... Edited March 24, 201213 yr by Big Mistake
March 23, 201213 yr Pixie Lott. She clearly still has some relevance if she can take 'Kiss The Stars' as high as #8 as a post-album release so I think the lead single from album 3 has a very decent shot at giving her a fourth chart topper. Alexandra could feasibly do it as well I guess but Elephant only sold 42k so she'd need to make a pretty drastic turnaround or release on an extremely dead week. March 24, 201213 yr Sadly I can't see Alexandra Burke getting another number one in the near future. I voted Pixie Lott as she has done consistently well with single releases. I agree Jessie J Should be up there though, shes already had 2 and I could maybe even see her doing it before Pixie Lott.
March 24, 201213 yr Random thought...What if Geri Halliwell's new single hits number 1?...OK possibly not but you never know...
March 24, 201213 yr Author Random thought...What if Geri Halliwell's new single hits number 1?...OK possibly not but you never know... it would be a dream come true!!!! i love Geri.... maybe she should feature Labyrinth , Wretch 32 or Tinie Tempah in order to do so....
March 24, 201213 yr Geri Halliwell sat next to me (with her GORGEOUS boyf) at the theatre last Saturday night...... watchng the brilliant Jill Halfpenny in Abigail's Party at the Chocolate Factory in London. Crikey, she's SO tiny.... and old looking.
March 24, 201213 yr I agree with Dannyboy. I like all of them but i believe that Leona Lewis will have the 4th Number 1. I heard that her new material will have big ballads as we love her. Leona and ballads is a big deal in U.K charts. She is the best live performer all over the world the last years!!
March 24, 201213 yr i love Geri.... maybe she should feature Labyrinth , Wretch 32 or Tinie Tempah in order to do so.... Noooooo! :(
March 24, 201213 yr I'd say probably Pixie Lott, which is odd considering most of us were labelling her a flop not long ago :P Leona could easily do it too with a strong single to lead the album release. Jessie J could well do it though. Depending on how airplay goes, LaserLight could easily get there with a performance on The Voice (seeing as it's just from the platinum edition of Who You Are which I don't think that many people bought... If it it was on the standard edition which has probably sold close to 800k by now surely it'd be a different story) and then I'm fairly sure she'll be REALLY big next era so she'll easily get a chart topper or two from that, it's just a case of whether Leona or Pixie can get another before Jessie gets two I think. It's between Pixie, Leona or Jessie definitely, Pixie is probably most likely though, especially if she moves on quickly to another album later this year (re-release didn't work for her last time with Broken Arrow peaking at 12). March 24, 201213 yr Author Noooooo! :( i don't like the thought either but what the hell if it gets her to number 1 & extend her record!!!
March 24, 201213 yr I think it'll be Jessie J as Laser Light should make it 3 with The Voice promo and then her 4th #1 will be her first single from album 2 :)
March 24, 201213 yr Pixie Lott.. cant see that happening. I'd say Leona with her next single tbh, or maybe alexandra with her next single as that may be out before Leona's, as both will be 'lead' singles and have a chance hitting #1. If only Better in Time & Happy went to #1 she'd be on 5 going on 6, they were both so close  Edited March 24, 201213 yr by Karma
March 24, 201213 yr i don't like the thought either but what the hell if it gets her to number 1 & extend her record!!! To me that's like Nick Clegg saying 'To hell with LibDem principles, as long as it gets us into bed with the Tories...'
March 24, 201213 yr I love Jessie, but I really doubt that LaserLight will reach number one. It's far from her best but i do agree that she could do it with a few from her second album
March 24, 201213 yr I love Jessie, but I really doubt that LaserLight will reach number one. It's far from her best but i do agree that she could do it with a few from her second album Blasphemy! Laserlight is all kinds of amazeballs! I listen to it on repeat all the time :) I could see it doing really well i th UK, notsure aout nmer 1 bu definately top 5.
March 24, 201213 yr Goodness me what a travesty Geri holds this record in the first place. Awful, Awful. If I had to pick someone to equal it I would go for Alexandra. She'll have to release something a hell of a lot better than Elephant though.
March 24, 201213 yr I think Jessie J. I believe Alexandra and Leona are running out of steam. I doubt Cheryl will get two #1s this year and Adele won't be back for ages..... The Voice UK will help boost Jessie J songs.
March 24, 201213 yr Surely a spirited return to the charts by Billie Piper will make this thread redundant?
