Currently Geri Haliwell holds the record for most number 1 hits by a UK female in the UK charts with 4 number 1's : 'Mi chico latino', 'Lift me up' , 'Bag it up' and 'It's raining men' more than 10 years ago.... No other female artist has achieved that feat since then: however, a few have gotten close....like Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis, Pixie Lott and Alexandra Burke who each have 3 number 1's but unlikely to score a 4th anytime soon, Rita Ora has 2 solo ('Hot Right Now' is a Collaboration ), also Jessie J has 2.

But now that Geri's back with her new single 'Half of me', she might extend her record to 5 number 1's (actually not really but I was being sarcastic)... B-)

You made this thread last week

yes but now it's the final based on the top 5 female singers chosen by Buzzjack voters in last week's thread,

plus each winner will get a free legal copy of the winning song.

that's why everyone should post who they voted for.

But the song may never exist!

it will, i'm sure one of these 5 singers will get to her 4th number 1 soon....

plus, what have you got to lose??? :)

Well I've voted. I hope for your bank balance's sake not a lot of people take part in this!

I'm confused.

  • I vote for singer who then gets the most votes from Buzzjack members AND then scores a number one - then I win.
  • I vote for singer who doesn't get the most votes from Buzzjack members but singer I voted for scores a number one - then I lose?
I don't want the prize, just clarification

Well I may as well vote if there's free music involved :P

I voted Alexandra, as I think she can get it with her next single, now that Radio 1 at least seem to be back on board.

Voted for Pixie. Hoping for mega Alex floppage and Jessie just missing out with Laserlight and whatever awful duet The Voice cooks up.

Alexandra also, she shoots the video for her new single next week. Although I think she will need Capital radio more than R1.

I voted Alexandra Burke.

The fact that she managed a top 3 position with a song snubbed by radio prior to its release says it all. I may be wrong though. The next single could be a dud.

Voted for Alexandra without looking at comments - thought I'd be only one voting for her! Would really love her or Leona to grab it. Although, technically, Alexandra already has five #1s (three of her own + Hero and Everybody Hurts)...
Leona Lewis. For some reason, I don't see her as "over" as everyone says she is. She should release something in the doldrums of summer and she'll do it!
Who wants a powerballad in the summer though.
I think it'll be EXTREMELY difficult for Leona, Alexandra or Pixie Lott to achieve the 4th number one (and even if they do, they won't surpass it imo). They're relevant enough for top 10, maybe even top 5 but their shots at number 1 is quite slim and, outside their core fanbase (which is somewhat big), most people are desinterested in them and probably won't give them another shot. Cheryl Cole and Jessie J, on the other hand, are still mainstream enough as of right now. Of course it can all change tomorrow but, as of today, I would say they're, by far, the one with the biggest chances. I mean, both of them have a guaranteed number one with the first single of their next albums so they will, least case scenario, tie the other girls records.

You make a good point,

and if Cheryl was on 3 #1s so far, I would have picked her. But the 2 people most likely to score a #1 next (Cheryl & Jessie) are only on 2 #1s, hence may not necessarily make 4 #1s before the others.

This is a difficult one
