April 1, 201213 yr I made these 2 Lists, to reflect that Madonna's MDNA is her 12th UK No.1 Album THE TOP 5 FEMALE ARTISTS WITH THE MOST UK No.1 WEEKS (To W/E 7th April 2012) S = Singles No.1 Weeks A = Albums No.1 Weeks NOTE - As you can see - by a curious coincidence - there are 4 Female Acts in joint 2nd place, with 27 No.1 Weeks. By another coincidence, Rihanna & Adele have 'mirror image' No.1 Weeks - 22 + 5 & 5 + 22. And Adele is the only UK Female in the Top 5. 1) Madonna - S - 29 + A - 30 = 59 Weeks 2)=Celine Dion - S - 9 + A - 18 = 27 Weeks 2)=Rihanna - S - 22 + A - 5 = 27 Weeks 2)=Adele - S - 5 + A - 22 = 27 Weeks 2)=Kylie Minogue - S - 16 + A - 11 = 27 Weeks @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ THE TOP 10 ACTS WITH THE MOST UK NUMBER 1 ALBUMS (To W/E 7th April 2012) (Weeks at No.1 in Brackets) NOTE - So, both Bruce Springsteen, & Madonna, have added a No.1 Album, in 2012. Will any more of these Acts do so, as time goes by.....? 1) BEATLES - 15 (174W) 2) MADONNA - 12 (30W) 3) ELVIS PRESLEY - 11 (63W) 4)=THE ROLLING STONES - 10 (45W) 4)=U2 - 10 (15W) 6)=ABBA - 9 (57W) 6)=MICHAEL JACKSON - 9 (30W) 6)=ROBBIE WILLIAMS - 9 (29W) 6)=QUEEN - 9 (21W) 6)=BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - 9 (15W)

April 1, 201213 yr Author Would I be right in taking the obituary in your article the same way I take my porridge - with a pinch of salt? Are you doubting his existence? That's an insult to his seven children by five different women (none of them among his four wives).
April 1, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the extra info zeuss. I think most of the top ten could add to their tally. The dead or defunct acts could still get another compilation to the top.
April 1, 201213 yr "With no big releases tomorrow (Monday)" Nicki Minaj and Labrinth should both manage a pretty decent opening I reckon. Maybe Adele could re-overtake Madonna, David and Emeli though. Edited April 1, 201213 yr by Danny Saucedo
April 1, 201213 yr Author I'm not convinced about the Labrinth album but we'll find out on Wednesday. I was ruling out Nicki Minaj as I had assumed from the title that it was another revamp of Pink Friday. Oops.
