I can honestly say I've never dropped points off a song just because I think it's going to win. If there's a song I discover and I adore that track, it's got my 12 points guaranteed and would be more than happy to see that track win. Hence me giving 'Sober' and 'Video Games' my 12 points.

 

Regardless of the Tone Damli Vs Foxes debate, the song that I would give more points to now if we were going to vote again would actually be Carly Rae Jepsen as that song has continued to grow on me post-final results. This has happened a few times over the contests - tracks like 'Nuclear Seasons' and '212' became real growers even after that months contest had finished.

I'm with Rob and Dandy* on this one. The whole "this song WON'T WIN now!!!" thing is a bit hysterical. It's hardly Addy's fault if people vote tactically!

The thing is though, nobody even knows what song got these high points. So, to vote a song lower out of a presumption a song is going to win, is just stupid in my eyes - it's not Addy's fault, doing something like this makes people think, but shouldn't make people vote a song lower out of their presumptions, just seems silly to me.

Woo! I know it's been growing on you though! :kink: My biggest growers over the few contests have been Somebody That I Used To Know and to a much smaller extent, 212. But I never alter my points on the premise that is is likely to win as we know from the past that non-favourites such as Inescapable can win anyway!

 

I don't mind knowing some clues like these as it has added more discussion to the thread :D

Not usually, the songs which fare best in TBO are normally the first half of the year. Whoever wins in November's contest will get the curse of being near the bottom of the TBO Finals :lol:

It's only April. We still have another seven contests yet so who knows what gems will be discovered between now and then.
