April 6, 201213 yr I thought that there was no sales info before 1969? And will sales be given on the show? Anyway, I will sure to be listening to it! :D There ain't. And in any case, as there are no Albums in the chart, from before 1967, it's hardly 1956 to 2012. LPs never sold as well as singles in the 50s & 60s, anyway. To expensive, for one. I believe the biggest albums (in those days) were the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, Lonnie Donegan, the Beach Boys & all those Soundtrack LPs i.e. Carousel, The King & I, South Pacific & The Sound Of Music. Only the first 7 (named there) are worth a mention.
April 7, 201213 yr Mention of this show on Tony's weekly youtube vlog. AdQpayKL8Kw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdQpayKL8Kw
April 9, 201213 yr Just to confirm we will be doing "Something" on this but it's rather last minute so don't be expecting miracles kids! :D
April 9, 201213 yr 40. X & Y- Coldplay http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/3c/XYCoverBig.png The first of how many Coldplay albums? The 2nd best selling album of 2005, and 12th of the 00s! 1Tp0r9197uo
April 9, 201213 yr I don't own any of these albums so I will be reviewing the chart hits from them :D 40. Coldplay "X&Y" #2 Speed Of Sound - one of their best songs imo, but I must be one of a few that prefer Crazy Frog to it :kink: #4 Fix You - classic Coldplay  #10 Talk - I never got into this one, I found it boring at the time and still don't like it now Great start to the chart, nice to hear SOS again
April 9, 201213 yr 39. THE MAN WHO....- Travis http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/de/Travis_-_The_Man_Who_album_cover.jpg RELEASED: 1999 PEAK POSITION: 1 WKS ON CHART: 104 Third biggest selling album of 1999. zzUdJ-5fscA
April 9, 201213 yr X&Y will always be the weakest Coldplay album for me. There are some fantastic songs on it but half of it really illustrated why so many people hate the band. So utterly bland, boring, unimaginitive and soulless.
April 9, 201213 yr 39. Travis - The Man Who #14 Writing To Reach You - it's very average MOR, not my type of song at all #13 Driftwood - never heard #10 Why Does It Always Rain On Me - my favourite from them #08 Turn - not heard this either #05 Coming Around - and not heard this I'm not a fan of Travis :(
April 9, 201213 yr Not big on that Coldplay album, it's alright but I prefer Viva La Vida. Never been a massive fan of them though admittedly. Ew Travis. Only song I've liked from them is Closer, and even then I wasn't big on that.
April 9, 201213 yr Travis were actually an excellent singles band but they weren't someone I ever wanted to listen to a whole album by. Great in their heyday though.
April 9, 201213 yr 38. WAR OF THE WORLDS- Jeff Wayne http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/01/WayneTWOTW.jpg RELEASED: 1978 PEAK POSITION: 5 WKS ON CHART: 285 70s Music soundtrack. WungvhcG6JI
April 9, 201213 yr 99. THE MAN WHO....- Travis [/size] 39 I assume? :P X&Y is my second favourite of Coldplay's albums behind 'Mylo Xyloto' (which remains my favourite of theirs to date even past my initial looning of it when it was first released) I can easily see why some people find it bland/dull/boring etc. but I don't think it is. Only heard 'Why Does It Always Rain On Me?' from Travis as far as I'm aware - decent song. Not familiar with anything off the John Wayne album. Edited April 9, 201213 yr by M.I.É.
