Urban Hymns is another amazing album (I adore all the singles :heart:), Back To Bedlam isn't as bad as everyone makes out it is and Come On Over and Rumours are two incredible albums! :wub:

The first three singles from 'Rumours' are great, especially 'Go Your Own Way' - disappointing that Lissie's cover of it never took off in the same way as Charlene Soraia's awful cover of Wherever You Will Go did :(

13. STARS- Simply Red

It’s easy to forget now, but few acts could be relied upon to shift albums with such consistency as Simply Red could between 1987 and 1996 and the band ran up 5 straight No 1 albums, the biggest of which was “Stars”. The best selling album of both 1991 and 1992 it was also the 2nd best seller of the entire decade despite none of the singles taken from it getting higher than No 8.

I have heard this song a lot before, but I never took note of who sang it. Great song :D I'm sure the album isn't that bad either. Can't recall any of their other songs other than 'Fairground' which isn't on this album

It's also strange that You're Beautiful was the weakest single from the album too. I dont particularly like him but I dont think he deserves all the hate. Carry You Home is an amazing song.

Not sure I even know any Simply Red songs.

I haven't heard the album but Stars is a decent song, probably my favourite Simply Red song along with Fairground although admittedly they're not one of my favourite acts ever.

Combining sales of the standard and deluxe version saw Winehouse (briefly) achieve the accolade of best selling album of the century last year in the aftermath of her death. A string of disastrous performances and a troubled personal life kept Winehouse in the public eye long after the initial promo for the album had stopped, the long awaited failed to materialise but a collection of her outtakes and rarities were put together for last year’s “Lioness” release.

 

For Your Babies is nice.

Third album I own. I love all the singles from Back to Black - Rehab and Back to Black being my favourites! :D One of the best albums I own, actually!

Finally a good album. Absolute classic, shame we never got to hear the follow-up but maybe it was for the best given her problems.

Amy Winehouse :wub: So many songs from this album that I like a lot, with Rehab being my favourite. A real shame she died, she really did bring back rnb back to the mainstream and inspired Adele and Jessie J. I love both acts especially the latter :heart:

My turn for an unpopular opinion. Beyond the admittedly excellent singles I don't care for the rest of Back To Black at all.

Rounding up her career 1983-1990, TIC could afford to be picky leaving some of her No 1 singles of the list such was the back catalogue she had amassed at even this point. It spent 9 straight weeks at No 1 in late 1990 (a record until beaten by you know who) and sold its first million in just 7 wks, it lead with “Justify My Love” which being Madonna, had a suitably risqué video which was only aired after the watershed on MTV, it remains a testament to just how great she is when on top form.
