Really?! :o I think it was a great single choice. It's very catchy, and very mainstream friendly. A lot of his core fanbase seem to prefer it to Airplanes and Nothin' On You, I guess because it's more similar to the songs he used to do before he blew up.

He has a really weird flow in the 2nd verse, which a lot of people thought was really corny, so maybe that's one reason you find it irritating. :lol: But I liked it tbh.

 

Did anybody think when they listened to his album that Janelle Monae would be #2 on iTunes a couple of years later? :lol:

'Magic' was a little bit too 'pop' for my liking - and heavily reliant on the track's chorus from Rivers Cuomo, though 'Nothin' on You' was pretty reliant on the chorus from Bruno Mars. Loved 'Strange Clouds' and am really liking 'So Good' at the moment.

 

Was considering purchasing the album, but they've decided to leave out 'Play the Guitar (feat. Andre 3000)' off both the standard and deluxe edition tracklisting - was relased as the second single in the US and peaked low at #98 - interested as to why they've left it off - I have no way of downloading it legally now.

Kind of hoping 'So Good' can really go all out and suprise everyone by going to #1. It really is such a feel good song, its one of his best I think. For the record, 'Ghost In The Machine' is also my favourite from his first album and it was a very strong album.

Well, not B.o.B - but when I listened to Janelle Monae's own album (the most recent of the Archandroid albums), I didn't see her having a huge #1 worldwide. :lol:

 

Having said that, she only sings the same line like 4 times. :(

Its chart position is maybe why it's not on the album. Strange Clouds went to #1 on iTunes, So Good went to #2 on iTunes, and Play the Guitar went to like #38 on iTunes or something? So perhaps they think people don't like the song.

Same happened with B.o.B for me infact. I first heard him in 2008, as he featured on one of my favourite songs from T.I.'s album (which, I'm NEVER going to know why it wasn't a single, it would've gone #1 for sure), and then a couple of years later Airplanes is slaying the charts. :lol:

Couldn't agree more. I see no appeal of RIP at all. It just has no growth whatsoever and I don't think it's catchy at all. Good singer maybe, but the song is awful.
