I'm pissed that Maxwell's version is selling so much too.

But for a different reason. Into You by Fabolous/Tamia/Ashanti, which is an amazing, beautiful song, was the best-selling song from that compilation album until now. OH WELL. :(

WOW! Some big surprises there! Does that indicate big ratings again for The Voice tonight?

A contestant called Mathai sang Ordinary People on The Voice US this week, odd how the same song is used 3 times on the same show in one week (albeit in different countries).

Although I firmly 'Team The Voice', I SO wish it was Kate Bush - This Woman's Work top 5 on iTunes, as I have said it's one of my all time favourites, just beautiful

Looks like Kate could catch Maxwell.

Back in the top 40 then <_<

I'd like to see this re-enter the top 100 next week.

Didn't expect to see John Legend at #3 on iTunes ever! Even after the mass exposure on The Voice, I expected a #21-40 entry, similar to 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved'. If they were to reduce it to 59p, it wouldn't surprise me to see it jump to #1 on iTunes + perhaps grab it officially - oh the joys of reality TV and its effect on the chart.

Had no idea before now that will.i.am co-wrote the track with Legend, so him crying and telling the story behind it may have prompted fans of the song to see it in a different light. The Voice 1 - 0 BGT.

will.i.am and John Legend have made loads of music together over the years (enough for a full length album). John Legend sometimes wrote songs for the BEPs, and sometimes will.i.am composes instrumentals for John's albums.

I'm going to be an annoying loon til she slows down but oh GOD if Kate made top 40 next Sunday it'd make my year tbh  Of course she'll slow down but it's amazing track and deserves weeks at #1!

Sorry I've been relentlessly spamming this thread (well, even more than usual :kink:) the last couple of hours, there's just a lot going on :kink:

Someone has just tweeted saying that Reggie has confirmed that in the hour or so since The Voice, John Legend has sold 3000 copies! in an hour or so!

:o Surely a top 40 entry :o

Skinny Love for a surprise top 10 please

John Legend's 'Get Lifted' album at #3 on iTunes could also re-peak (current peak of #12) - taking advantage of the low sales needed for a top 10 album currently. Hopefully music stores will have the sense to crack out some of his discography and put it on display - he'll be raking it in. Hopefully the boost can raise some awareness of some of his other tracks, including the incredible 'Getting Nowhere' with Magnetic Man.

This Woman's Work for number 1 with 99% lead

Blimey :o 3000 must be already in the top 40, if not just outside!

The barrier for top 40 is normally at least 7k if not 8k isn't it? Nonetheless it should make it if it did 3k in an hour, as it'll probably continue to sell a few thousand per hour until midnight and it had all its sales before that in the week, as negligible as they may be, as well. Could even be well inside the top 40.

That would depend on whether shops have any leftover copies. It could go top 40 on digital sales alone if it can stay high on iTunes all week I suppose.

John Legend getting to no. 1 next week with 'Ordinary People' would be one of the most unexpected yet fantastic shocks I'd ever witness in the UK charts. :D

Reggie DID NOT say that it had sold 3k in the last hour. He said this:

''Ordinary people probably just jumped up 3000 places on iTunes!! Big show tonight! Thanks for all your tweets... #TheVoiceUK''

I still think it will have sold near that, but it hasn't been confirmed by anyone.

BGT must be losing a lot of viewers if the Voice is doing that well, the audience for the Voice last week was over 9m people watching it.

Oh :P Still, I suspect it will have done enough to at least scrape into the top 40 and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets well inside, especially if it can overtake fun. before midnight.

My bad someone just posted the wrong info up.

I'm not sure whether it's true but apparantly The Voice beat BGT last weekend in its ratings war. Overnight figures suggested that The Voice was increasing week on week whilst the opposite was happening with BGT.

Well what do you expect when "you can't find your keys or your mobile phone" gets through to the next stages of the competition? I really think BGT has lost the plot and needs to accept it's not 2008 anymore.

391. John Legend - Used to Love U

695. John Legend ft. Kanye West - Number One

983. John Legend - Stay With You

Wow! :D
