I suggest everyone hurries off to listen to Delta's five defining UK top ten hits - Born To Try, Lost Without You, Innocent Eyes, Out Of The Blue and Almost Here. She's no nobody! Although to be fair, barely anybody I know recalls who she is either :(

Shes amazing :( She needs success again, I'd also like Innocent Eyes to make a return one day

Though it just so happens that Not Me, Not I - is my favourite Delta song and one of my favourite songs ever - criminal it didn't do better then #18 in the UK - but she couldn't promote it because of her cancer at the time. Also, I was at a karaoke bar a couple of weeks ago and Innocent Eyes was sung by someone. I was shocked!! :o lol

I don't think anyone is thinking Sitting On Top of the World will smash on word of mouth alone - but I'm sure Sony will be looking at the data coming back and see if they have something to work on

Yeah, same here. Many people only know of her through me.

If you want to listen to her, listen to those five, plus I Can't Break It To My Heart, Mistaken Identity, Last Night On Earth, Flawed, In This Life, Believe Again, and well, all of the really. :P Not a bad song in her whole discography. Mistaken Identity is the perfect album.

Let's go is still FAR FAR FAR away :( Hate this CMM song, for children until the age of 7 in my opinion. sorry.

 I thought of it like that when i first heard it too. I still don't get how it has managed to cross so many age boundaires and appeal to such a wide audience :o I know it's catchy, but so was Rebecca Black's Friday (yes, i'm almost comparing the too! :P)

Agreed, although Almost Here is nowhere near as good as the other four.

But Delta is amazing, yes. Especially the Innocent Eyes album! Not a big fan of her new single though, very disappointing.

I'm with you man.

(Nicki Minaj >) Delta Goodrem >>>>>>>> everyone else in the top 10

easy :D

As artists though, admittedly SOTOTW is hardly Believe Again or Born To Try but then what is?

SEVEN AM WAKING UP THE MORNING <3 I actually love Friday.

Preach!

I don't get how it underperformed as much as it did though! It was everywhere

Someone made that comparison a few months ago on here, and I thought it was ridiculous, but a couple of days ago I saw some people (who are 20 year old males) talking about the song on Facebook, and they called it the "new Rebecca Black" aswell. :drama:

I like the song though. I think it's very catchy, and I think I've said this before, but it's refreshing to hear a song that isn't continuous synths for the entire thing. I love how it's like blast of strings rather than those David Guetta-styled pounding synths like everything else.

I agree. It just proves the charts can't be used to show the true popularity of songs. They can be used as a rough guide, but I don't think they're that accurate for popularity. But they don't claim to be, there was an article a while ago where someone working for the OCC was questioned on this, and he said something along the lines of "It's a sales chart, not a popularity chart".

Friday should have smashed to be honest. But it getting multiple weeks on the Hot 100 was still AMAZING looking back. Friday

Well yeah, it's not really 'new Friday', Carly can DEFINITELY sing:

But I can see the comparison, both pure pop tracks and both viral hits, it's just Carly's is a geniune pop song and Rebecca's was (surely) a joke. I love both, probably Friday even more though. *hides*

God ikr :drama: I think it was released late, that's usually the problem with the UK

Yeah if she released it OA/OS it would have been a sure-fire hit!

Friday was released a couple days after it blew up IIRC. People just... didn't want the song, SOMEHOW.

Rebecca is actually a competent singer! She's done live performances. I remember her saying she didn't like the autotune on Friday.

I think the Glee Cast version of Friday almost went top 40 though. I would've really loved that to happen though, just to see what they thought of it on the chart show. Possibly the worst combination of artist + song.

Reggie would have had a meltdown!!!

I know! That would've been hilarious.

Rebecca Black performed live on a high profile American TV show:

Gosh, America can be funny sometimes.

THEIR LOSS.

Well yes I know, but not ANYWHERE as good as Carly :P Also on record Rebecca always sounds awful, somehow she's just good live. It sounds really weird hearing Friday being sung well though, same as when Katy Perry sang it on tour (yes, she sings well live most of the time before half of you come in saying how talentless she is) and when Glee covered it!
